More chic and less touristic than its neighbor Ile de la Cité, Ile Saint-Louis is one of the nicest places for a walk in Paris. It has stayed almost the same as 400 years ago. Its architecture and its village atmosphere make it the perfect place to enjoy Paris at any time of the year.

You can cross the island on both sides by its 2 main streets (with many shops), or walk around the island and admire the numerous former private mansion houses from the 17th and 18th centuries. Foodies will love the delicious ice cream at Berthillon, one of the best (unless it’s the best !) ice-cream maker in Paris.

The Ile Saint Louis Theater, located on Quai d’Anjou, features one of the smallest scene in Paris, where you can enjoy contemporary programming as well as concerts.

This haven of peace and beauty is an ideal starting point thanks to its central position : Le Marais neighborhoods only 5 minutes walking-distance, the Latin Quarter – 10 minutes. Metro lines 1, 4, 7 and 10 are nearby.
