Avoid Properties Managed by Vacasa
The home we rented was filthy. The curtains were covered in visible dust. When I opened my bath towel, a ball of tangled hair fell to the floor. The back porch seemed as if no one ever swept it or wiped anything down. There was a bucket of cigarette butts next to the chairs on the balcony near the master bedroom. We reached out via text and email multiple times about the non-working fireplace. We received a response that appeared to be coming from overseas with very poor and broken English. Their response each time I reached out was that they reached out to the local office and were waiting for a response. The response never came. The hot water heater was leaking in the downstairs bedroom. It has been leaking for quite some time as the room smelled musty and gross upon arrival. The heat also did not work downstairs. The beds were uncomfortable (hard, old spring mattresses with flat pillows). The couch and chairs were equally uncomfortable and likely more than 20 years old.
The homeowner should seriously reconsider who they use to manage their property before their home is damaged by lack of care or they lose rental opportunities as a result of bad reviews. The house is lovely and could be a magical vacation home.
