About this property

Beautiful Suite with Parking in Downtown Charleston

Summary:
Van Gogh prints, hardwood floors, and colorful furnishings convene for a warm atmosphere within this beaming suite. Fix a cup of coffee and bring in the morning from a cozy coffee table on the covered balcony. Certificate of Operations: OP2018-00253.

The Space:
The house is a traditional Charleston single house built in 1852. It has been renovated but still has its historic charm.

The Van Gogh Room features a private bathroom, balcony access, fridge, microwave, and Smart tv.

The Neighborhood:
The apartment is in Charleston, adjacent to the Medical University of South Carolina. King Street’s array of restaurants, cocktail bars, cafes, and shops are just a few blocks away. Pay a visit to The Charleston Museum, then see a show at Music Farm.

Getting Around:
You can either walk, bike or Uber to most any place. Parking is supplied onsite for one car and there is street parking available for other cars. The MUSC parking garage is also just steps away. We suggest an economy size vehicle to navigate the narrow downtown Charleston streets.

Other Things to Note:
Quiet hours are from 10pm-8am.

Nice BUT…..
The location is on the “edge” of a nicer and scratchy area. VERY noisy (they provide ear plugs). The bathroom set up was very odd (have to enter the hall, code for the bathroom) and there is a second door to the patio through the bathroom. They provided 2 plates and wine glasses but you have to wash them in the bathroom sink.

Charleston trip
Everything was great, easy to find, good parking, good communication. It was a little nosy at night but that was nothing the host could control.

it’s LOUD
Nicely appointed rooms with character and charm. Karen lives next door and is generally easy to communicate with. However, the house is LOUD inside and out. Inside—stairs always creak, beds creak, you hear every step of those staying in other rooms. Outside….well there’s a GIANT construction project across the street that starts EARLY and a hospital down the road (this is why I suppose we heard helicopters). Location is okay, about a mile from main tourist stuff. We slept horribly and were exhausted.

Fun quirky home from home
Nice homely room in a creaky character building. Quite a walk into downtown but in a fun location. Only slight downside was that the listing failed to mention that our bathroom was across a shared landing.

Nice place!
We enjoyed our stay! It’s a little bit of a walk to the downtown sights, but it’s a very nice walk. One day we rode bikes which is a great way to experience Charleston too!
