About this property

Charming Log Cabin in the Heart of Crested Butte

Summary:
Charming historic miner's log cabin in the heart of Crested Butte. Originally built in 1890 in Irwin Townsites, brought down to CB in the 1950's, and beautifully remodeled with modern features in the last 15 years. In the 1960's this house was covered in stucco hiding the log walls. The current owners pulled off the stucco to reveal a magical log cabin. The original logs are still visible from the inside and the outside. This is a premier spot to be in Crested Butte. Walk to Elk Avenue.

Walking distance to the restaurant district, and close to the free shuttle up to the main village & lifts. A rushing creek goes adjacent to the back yard. In the summer you'll have your own private backyard with a bbq qrill. In the winter, the backyard will be under four feet of snow.

The rushing creek and the amazing mountain views allow you to escape into your surroundings, while the flat screen TV's, cable TV, and wireless internet keep you in touch with the busy world you left behind. The beautiful Colorado summers can be enjoyed on the back patio or you can curl up next to the gas fireplace and watch the snow fall in the winter.

The kitchen is outfitted with a gas stove for the chef in you. The appliances are modern and beautiful.

When you check-out there is not a list of items to accomplish and/or clean. You're on vacation, not cleaning duty.

There are four beds in the house. One king bed, two twin beds, and one pull out couch double. There is a washer & dryer. This house has on-street parking directly in front of the house.

This is a pet friendly property. $100 pet fee, per pet. This is a non-smoking property. If you are allergic to or bothered by pet hair and/or dander you should consider not renting this property. We welcome pets, meaning there will always be small amounts of dog hair in the unit. It is not possible to remove 100% of animal pet hair/dander in time for the next stay. It's a fantastic place to stay, and our guests love it here.

Wonderful experience!
This fully restored historic cabin is simply beautiful. In addition to being incredibly charming with hand-hewn logs and beautiful wide planked wood floors it is also full of modern comforts. The kitchen is gorgeous and the gas range was fantastic, plus plenty of counter space for cooking. The location was ideal, tucked away in a quiet corner of downtown CB close to the road that leads to Lake Irwin yet walking distance to restaurants and shops. We also enjoyed the farmer’s market on Sunday that was held only a block away. The property manager was just wonderful! He responded quickly to any questions I had and took the time to explain the history of the cabin to my husband. I can’t forget to mention the yard! Adjacent to the house is a fully fenced yard that made this trip so easy with two small dogs. Also, after a long day of hiking we enjoyed sitting in Adirondack chairs in the yard listening to the sounds of the creek that runs near by. Can’t say enough about how wonderful this spot is! Will definitely stay here again!
