Best Family Reunion Yet!
My husband and I rented this cabin for a family reunion and bonfire and we had a fantastic time. Everything was clean, easy to access, lots of parking, and absolutely beautiful. Michael has provided EVERYTHING you could need or think of. There were even bath bombs by the jacuzzi tub! Making supper was so easy, the kitchen has all the equipment and utensils literally all I had to do was bring the food. There's even complimentary coffee! The backyard was a real treat with plenty of space around the bonfire and outdoor games. Nothing ever felt cramped. Something my back really appreciated is corner weren't cut with the quality of the mattress either, normally I get stiff when we travel but this bed was perfect. 10/10 my husband and I are already looking to book again sometime this winter.

Born and raised in the Orono, Minnesota, I currently split my time in Los Angeles where I write and produce movies. All of my family, as well as friends I've know since kindergarten, live in the Twin Cities area so I get back to my lake house in Maple Plain often and continue to feel incredibly connected to the Twin Cities community.

Why they chose this property

Having other rental properties, I was looking for someplace on a lake with enough land to make it feel private, yet not so remote that it wouldn't offer great activities nearby. After renovating both the inside and the property itself, it has become the best of both worlds, especially with Powder Ridge just around the corner. What I didn't expect was to fall in love with the area and find this charming cottage to be as much of a retreat as if I had driven three or four hours up north!

What makes this property unique

My goal was to create an environment where guests would feel like they've escaped from their world, somewhere up north with all the benefits of being far away, but not having to drive that far. Mission accomplished. With Powder Ridge only five minutes away, golf and restaurants nearby, there is plenty to do. Yet the most appealing part of staying at the Kimball House is probably just to stay put! I've come to love this place - it rejuvenates my soul and I'm sure it will rejuvenate yours as well.
