About this property

Peaceful Hudson Valley Renovated Home and Barn -Steps from River!

Make yourself at home in this very sweet and elegant glass and cedar house with a barn on 5 acres of private land. You will have private access to the river located mere steps from the house. The river attracts a wonderful wildlife display any time of the year.

There is a working fireplace in the living room and a fire pit in front of the river for roasting marshmallows. There are new oak floors throughout the house (just renovated!). We just bought all new furniture, mattresses (Casper and Tuft & Needle), bedsheets, comforters, pillows, and furniture in May. This is a newly and very clean renovated home.

There is a view of river and woods out of almost every window. This is a wonderful home for enjoying family reunions, romantic getaways, or a gathering of friends.

You can cook your own meals in the stunning gourmet kitchen or on the deck with a gourmet grill, or have your dinner catered by one of our excellent local private chefs or caterers.

The neighborhood is filled with world class activities. There is hiking, biking, climbing and picnicking on the beautiful Shawangunk Ridge at Mohonk Preserve and Minniwaska Park. Winter sports include cross country skiing and sledding. You are 50 minutes from downhill skiing and 10 minutes from both New Paltz and Gardiner, where there are multiple restaurants, bars, wineries as well as yoga, massage and shopping. There is a masseuse available to come to the house as well.

Big space with great views!
The New Paltz House was great for our large group. The 6 bedrooms were comfortable (great sheets) and the deck, kitchen and great room gave everyone a place to come together.

Sublime gathering with extended family and friends
10 of us enjoyed R&R leading up to our son’s graduation from West Point. The home was ideal for a group our size. Spacious and intimate with all the comforts and amenities a traveling group would want, Yes—comfortable beds!!! We appreciated how attentive and responsive Margaret was toward us. Our highlights were enjoying fresh cooked /grilled meals together in the natural sky lit dining room and a visit by a neighboring deer.

Hello!

My husband and I live in Manhattan, and we were getting tired of the urban life, so we decided to search for a part-time home with river or lake views and private access to the water that's less than a 1.5 hour drive from Manhattan. We visited over 40 or so houses, and this is the one we fell in love with (plus it's only a 1.5 hour drive from NYC and you can take a bus from Port Authority or a train from Grand Central). We hope you will love it too!

I work in tech, so generally very busy. In my free time, I love to do yoga, go on long walks, cook, and be in nature.

Please don't hesitate to ask me any questions! I'm always happy to help. I understand the value of selecting the most ideal vacation location for your friends, family, and colleagues.

We look forward to hearing from you!
Margaret
