About this property

Old Farmhouse , Downtown Monument

Summary:
Embrace the welcoming charm of our enchanting 1880’s farmhouse, fondly named ‘The Bluebird Inn’. A haven for 6 guests, built around a hot tub, this historic 2-bedroom property is nestled in the picturesque town of Monument, Colorado. Ideally situated, it’s just a stroll away from the heart of town, buzzing with exotic eateries, a brewery, and distilleries. Perfect for families, pet-lovers, and holidaymakers seeking a blend of comfort, character, and Colorado’s beautiful outdoors!

The Space:
This completely renovated home was one of the original Colorado Monument homes from the 1880’s and borders the Santa Fe trailhead now on the old railroad grade. The historic views continue with a 5-minute walk to several eateries, a brewery and two distilleries in quaint “Old West” downtown complete with wooden sidewalks and storefronts.. This is a perfect location with quick and easy access to regional attractions & outdoor recreation.

Like the setting of a Hallmark movie, this adorable little farmhouse is set back behind a classic white post-and-rail fence, where you’ll be welcomed by the sight of a firepit surrounded by six cheerful red Adirondack chairs as you roll up the driveway. A wonderful spot for reconnecting and resetting. Bring your favorite beverage and your best stories!

Just outside the front door of the home, you’ll find a low wooden deck furnished with an umbrella dining table for four and lit by a string of festive party lights. Have a hearty meal in that fresh Rocky Mountain air!

You are invited by mountains and sunsets in the lovely outdoor leisure area with a full deck, hot tub, a firepit surrounded by 8 Adirondack chairs and even a bag toss pitch.

Your unit occupies the entire lower floor of this two-story farmhouse. A bright, inviting living room provides a cozy three-seater sofa, complete with throw pillows and a blankie for settling in to watch movies on the corner Roku TV. The sofa converts into a queen sized bed, providing sleeping space for two. A pair of comfortable upholstered chairs and a small table are tucked into a corner and brightened by two long windows, creating an ideal spot for catching up over coffee.

French doors open wide into a warm, homey dining area with a table for six, just steps away from a breakfast bar incorporated into the kitchen counter that seats three. In one corner of the dining area, you’ll find a plump armchair beside the window. Consider it your reading nook!

From the dining area you have a clear view over the breakfast bar and into the clean, upbeat country kitchen. Enjoy preparing home-cooked meals with a suite of full-size, stainless-steel appliances that includes a refrigerator/freezer, a range with cooktop and oven, and a dishwasher. They blend beautifully with the carefully-selected farmhouse touches, like butcher block countertops, a deep apron sink, and a combination of open shelving, cabinets and drawers for storage.

You’ll appreciate the convenience of the microwave, and many thoughtful extras to make you feel right at home: a tea kettle, blender, stocked spice rack, specialty cooking utensils, a toaster, and even a hand mixer for whipping up a batch of your famous buttermilk pancakes or Grandma’s peanut butter cookies.

At the rear of the kitchen, a doorway leads into a laundry room with a full-size washer and dryer, plus additional pantry cabinets for food storage.

The bedroom has a decidedly happy-go-lucky aspect with a feminine touch. A king-size bed with an ornate iron headboard and footboard is a nod to the home’s vintage roots. You’ll also find a comfortable tufted ottoman at the foot of the bed, a large closet, and a Roku TV.

An “en suite” bath delights with updated fixtures with old-time flair, including beadboard paneling, classic black-and-white floor tile, and a pedestal sink. The shower is a bathtub/shower combo.

Hotel-grade linens are professionally laundered after every visit.

Perfect
This place was so so cute! The hot tub, fire pit, swing, upstairs patio & room with electric fireplace- all of it was perfect. We stayed here after our wedding as a little couple day wind-down following and it definitely helped us relax. It’s a great location to downtown Monument with easy walking options.

Character with modern amenities
This house, built in the 1880s has been lovingly updated to include clean, modern amenities. The stairs up to the second bedroom are steep, and the floors are uneven, due to its age, but the whole experience was charming. It is well stocked with supplies and good quality cooking utensils, and is close walking distance to stores and restaurants. AND the regional trail runs behind it. Great place!

Misleading ad
The little house was clean and very cute, with a spacious bedroom and kitchen. However, we were unable to enjoy the yard since there wasn’t any grass - only overgrown weeds on the entire property. We weren’t able to speak to or contact the actual owner either. The added fees and extra charges were the most alarming to us, making the daily quote online more than double. We stay at VRBOs frequently and have never experienced such fees nor absence of the actual owner.
