Our first apartment was lovely however had no air conditioning and the front desk said nothing. We had to call down to enquire and they did not seem too concerned despite it being an oven in the room. We asked to be moved but they could not do so until the next day. They were good about moving us albeit it was inconvenient as we had to store our luggage and wait a full day to get back to our room. While the staff were very sweet, we did not get one apology. The room was very comfortable and we had lots of space, which was great.

I felt sorry for the staff as this property does not live up to it’s 4 star rating. Dirty and tired and no heat in our first room. Second room had major leaks in the bathroom. Overall poor renovations, no sound proofing, and old soggy mattresses. Major safety violations when the fire alarm went off in the early morning (my partner is a professional firefighter). Fire doors did not close, alarm was silenced by staff. Not sure how this is considered an Expedia VIP hotel.

When I arrived I was told that they didn’t have a room for me at the property so they found me a equivalent room at a sister property known as “ Sleep Eat Love”. So I went over there to find out that it was actually a hostel. The room had 2 wooden beds , no tv no kitchen , no 2 king beds which is what I booked and paid for. I called back and with some argument I got my room back. This was a horrible experience. I want my money back!

Do not stay here

Staff were disrespectful and not helpful. The bug crawling across my counter was the worst part. I asked the night staff to pre-book a taxi to be called for 9:45 AM. I asked the clerk at 9:42 if the taxi was booked. She said "just go outside it will be there". No taxi at 9:45. I went back into the hotel at 9:46 and asked where the taxi was. She told me "it is on it's way. At 9:50 I returned and asked where the taxi was. She said "traffic is delaying the taxi". I said I ordered it last night. How can that be. The taxi showed up at 9:55. I asked the taxi driver why he wasn't there on time. He stated they just called at 9:50. So they lied to me. I missed my train. The room was dirty and the crawling bug across my counter was horrific. The complimentary fruit is a joke. I asked for it three times. Why do I have to beg for something they said was complimentary. Do not stay here. Staff said I was becoming a pain because I asked about the fruit. Not helpful or friendly. I took pictures as I do jot think anyone would believe me. Lights in bathroom above sink never worked. Cracked floor tiles in bathroom. Scuffed and dirty walls.

Hotel is nicely updated but their engineering is terrible. Had no air conditioning. They tried to fix but he forgot Twice! Changed rooms after one day it broke too ! I give up. Too bad nice remodel and great staff but poor infrastructure

Disappointed.

The Richmond used to be a great property but feels neglected of late. Room given initially was so smelly, asked the manager and to his credit changed the room to something more pleasant. Overall, the cleanliness is not great, lots of visible damage to the hotel, but only stayed for one night so made do. Have stayed before an the hotel does have a nice wing which is newer but rest of it was poor and it's the second time I've needed a room change.

A wonderful Hotel in every sense of the word. Excellent location ,excellent service by charming staff . It takes you back to what Hotels were like in times gone bye. Everything on a Grand Scale. If you are travelling to Liverpool , you should STRONGLY consider this wonderful Hotel.

Staff - 5/5 We arrived early around 12pm and Micheal helped us with checkin. we first got a room on ground floor as that was the only room available when we arrived, but it was not the type of room we were thinking of. we like rooms that have day light coming in and this room was very dark as it had only 1 window. we explained to Micheal, and he was very helpful, understood our needs and reorganized so that we got a different room, but that meant we had to check in at 3pm which was fine. Location - 5/5 5-10 min away from city centre. Which made it easily accessible to food and shopping centre. there is costa , dessert and Turkish restaurant right opposite the hotel. the car park was 2 min walk. Cleanliness- 3/5 Although the room had been cleaned by room service, the utensils had a stench of alcohol. there was dust around the room and the carpet had some sticky bits. we were in the junior suite so it was apartment style room however there was no microwave in the kitchen. There were two sinks in the bathroom and one of them was clogged up with tissues. the bathroom needs ventilation
