Kelowna vacation rentals – a vine how do you do

Think of Kelowna as British Columbia's answer to California's Napa Valley. It's the largest city sitting on the shores of breathtaking Okanagan Lake, with a cosmopolitan lakeside downtown, charming rural countryside, and numerous opportunities for exploring the great outdoors. It's a golf and hiking destination in summer, and a playground for skiers and snowboarders in winter. Whether you're on a bonding trip with family and friends, a romantic getaway with the sweetie, or a solo journey of self-discovery, Kelowna vacation rentals will let you savour everything the city has to offer.

History

The first Europeans who settled in the area now known as Kelowna were French Roman Catholic Oblate missionaries led by Father Charles Pandosy, who arrived in 1860. The site of his mission was carefully restored, and some of the original buildings still stand today. Connecting the whole of Canada by rail was a challenge in the country's early modern history, and one of the major achievements of the country's railway engineers is the Myra Canyon Trestles. Trains don't run through Myra Canyon anymore, but it forms part of British Columbia's extensive recreational trails network.
