Property was perfect in every way.Just as advertised Hammock in the bedroom was interesting!Perfect location.

Beautiful area very peaceful in the countrysideButterfly cottage was very cosy, the bed was so comfortable & huge(American king size!), we slept so well. We were lucky enough to have the pool to ourselves after the family who were staying in the cottage opposite left a few days into our stay. It was very dog friendly. There are some lovely walks although we stayed during the ‘heatwave’ with our dog so too hot for long walks. We had our own private seating area at the front of the cottage.The hosts Andy & Uliana were very friendly & approachable & good for local knowledge .You do need a car to get about. The closest town is a 10 min drive. However there is bar Tabac/Medina restaurant which is closer possibly a 45 walk. Would definitely recommended eating there, the Salmon dish was delicious. A beautiful and well appointed cottage surrounded by unspoilt countryside. Perfect for nature lovers and those who wish to have a break from hectic city life. The cottage is tastefully furnished and had all the facilities we needed for our 16-night stay, including washing machine, ironing board and a good assortment of kitchen utensils. Alain and Martine, the owners, who occupy the adjacent house, were delightful and Alain gave us many useful tips on what to see in the area and to best restaurants to choose for a memorable lunch or dinner.

Never stayed anywhere twice but this was our first time to do so. Beautiful place, immaculately kept, helpful and friendly host and the lovely Nero. So much to do in the region also, we may even go for a third stay next year! Wanted for nothing. Thank you Walter and Sylvie.

The area around Eyzies has fantastic scenery and marvellous caves and museums to visit. The gite is situated a short walk over the river into the town, where there are restaurants and bars. The riverside walk into town is delightful. Being on the south (shady) side of the valley, the gite is in the shade in the afternoons, and was then a little chilly. We thoroughly enjoyed our stay, and M and Mme Dalbavie were excellent hosts. We would recommend this as a great place to experience the area.

What a beautiful property and huge pool house and pool. Large pool with fully equipped kitchen and huge bathroom. Plenty of room around the pool to get the sun all day and a very large covered area for bbqs etc.. lovely well appointed home with everything you’ll need. Fully equipped eat in kitchen, lounge, loo and upstairs are three good size bedrooms, two bathrooms and separate loo. On the upper level was a further en suite bedroom. Only 3k to the nearest town of Montignac which is lovely. The river Vezere flows through the centre of the town, plenty of restaurants and some lovely shops. Very pretty town and worth a visit. The town of Terrasson is approx 8k away and also worth a visit. Beautiful town, lots of restaurants and shops. Good supermarkets on the outskirts. Huge thanks to Isobelle who was very helpful and made us very welcome. Nothing was too much trouble and I would highly recommend this property.

Our hosts were friendly and welcoming on arrival- thank you for the wine! The property is beautiful and unique- all fixtures and fittings modern and efficient. The weather was mixed but we managed a few lengths in the pool and we found the house to be an excellent centre for exploring the Dordogne and Vezere valleys.

Such a wonderful rural property full of character and features, very well equipped, with a fantastic pool. Easy access to some magnificent countryside and villages with great restaurants just a short drive away. Charming area to explore and some amazing places to visit. Well placed if you wish to travel further afield. For the more adventurous, kayaking down the river is highly recommended. Our family of 8 had such a great time and we can't thanks our hosts enough. Such a beautiful place and such wonderful experience - sincerely hope we will be a back again one day.
