Butterfly Cottage was a wonderful experience. We were pampered with fresh eggs from the chickens to a tasty libation and everything on needs to live well. Uliana was helpful in getting tickets for Font de Gaume, giving great ( both budget conscious and more pricey) restaurant reservations; the decorations were delightful. The town of Les Eyzies is a 5 minute drive from the countryside VRBO and offers much to see and do. And how friendly and welcoming your hosts are ! Merci, Uliana and Andy!

Perfect location , perfect hosts

Butterfly cottage was the perfect location to explore both the Dordogne and Vezere valley. It provided a peaceful and beautiful retreat, great accommodation and such kind and helpful hosts- Andy and Uliana. A wonderful holiday!

A real slice of heaven in the heart of stunning surroundings , hosted by Uliana and Andy who are extremely helpful and generous with their knowledge and expertise which enabled us to have such a marvellous time at Butterfly Cottage, Our dog, Henry settled in very quickly and had a ball roaming the vast garden, observing the chickens that provided us with wonderful fresh eggs to eat. Uliana was extremely helpful in setting up an appointment for Henry's required treatment for the journey home and Andy provided us with great tips for areas to visit. The gym was well used as was the super clean and large pool, all areas to visit within very close driving distance. Local restaurants serving superb meals , particularly 1862 in Les Eyzies ,the bistro and gastronomic restaurants we would highly recommend! Cottage was spotlessly clean with all the amenities required for a highly comfortable and most enjoyable stay. A true gem!

Wonderful accommodation in a great spot - we hoped to base ourselves here to cycle around the local area and were delighted Butterfly Cottage had availability. Close to most all the sights (the caves at Font de Gaume especially!) and the pool and gym were a real bonus before and after cycling. Great communication with Uliana (re much delayed arrival time and items which needed posting from home). Thoroughly enjoyed our stay - thank you!!!

Les Hirondelles Butterfly Cottage Perfection

We have had a great time in this beautiful region. Andy was the perfect host, always on hand with any queries or just a chat. The accomodation is full of character, comfortable and well appointed. We enjoyed use of the pool and hot tube. The gardens and setting are idyllic. Plenty to see and do without having to drive too far, local restaurants great value😄All in all A+++

Delightful Setting

We received a warm welcome from Andy our host. We had an excellent time spent in a beautiful area. Our Gite was spotlessly clean, a typical French Gite with charm and surroundings. We would recommend to anyone wanting to unwind and enjoy France at its best 👌

A relaxing time

Fantastic surroundings, wonderful pool and gorgeous gardens. A warm welcome awaits at Les Hirondelles and you couldn’t stay in a more picturesque and relaxing place. We had absolutely everything we needed within Butterfly Cottage. So well equipped, comfortable and charming. Thank you Uliana and Andrew for your warm welcome, we hope to see you again next year.

Relaxing break in the French counytryside

Beautiful area very peaceful in the countrysideButterfly cottage was very cosy, the bed was so comfortable & huge(American king size!), we slept so well. We were lucky enough to have the pool to ourselves after the family who were staying in the cottage opposite left a few days into our stay. It was very dog friendly. There are some lovely walks although we stayed during the ‘heatwave’ with our dog so too hot for long walks. We had our own private seating area at the front of the cottage.The hosts Andy & Uliana were very friendly & approachable & good for local knowledge .You do need a car to get about. The closest town is a 10 min drive. However there is bar Tabac/Medina restaurant which is closer possibly a 45 walk. Would definitely recommended eating there, the Salmon dish was delicious. A very relaxing stay

Wir haben 2 großartige Wochen in dem wunderschönen Cottage von Ulijana und Andy verbracht. Es war bestens ausgestattet und wunderbar ruhig gelegen. Der schöne Pool wurde aufgrund der Hitze viel genutzt und die Terrasse war gemütlich und schön schattig, ein herrlicher Frühstücksort. Das Cottage liegt zentral zu den schönsten Sehenswürdigkeiten und Städten des Perigord, z.B. Lascaux, Sarlat und Les Eyzies. Der nette Kontakt zu den Vermietern incl. Eierlieferung der hofeigenen Hühner hat den Urlaub perfekt gemacht. Tipps für Ausflüge, Restaurants oder Kanutouren hatte Andy immer parat. Eine wundervolle Zeit, an die wir noch oft zurückdenken werden.

Host was extremely nice, friendly, and attentive to our requests; he even brought over fresh eggs from his chickens and left us a nice bottle of wine. The pool is lovely and the setting is rural but nice and peaceful. The kitchen was well equipped, the living and dining area were really attractive and comfortable despite our stay being during a heat wave. The bedroom was upstairs and not air conditioned so it was very hot even though the host provided a fan and a second fan on request. The two upstairs windows had tears in the mosquito screens and couldn’t be opened at night. Unfortunately, the king size bed/mattress was broken on one side and sloped towards the floor. A top recommendation would require that the problem with the bed be addressed and the screens be repaired; otherwise, it was a truly wonderful stay.

Paradiesisch schön! Wer Ruhe, Erholung und naturnahes, luxuriöses Wohnen sucht, ist hier goldrichtig. Ein hervorragend ausgestattetes und liebevoll eingerichtetes Cottage mit weitläufigem, schön angelegtem Garten, gepflegtem Pool und Whirlpool, umgeben von Feldern und Wäldern. Unser Gastgeber-Ehepaar, Uljana und Andy, haben uns freundlichst aufgenommen und standen uns mit versiertem Rat und zuvorkommender Hilfsbereitschaft (Tipps für Kultur und Natur, Restaurants sowie Reservierungen selbiger, frischen Eiern von den eigenen Hühnern,...) gern und durchgängig zur Seite. Ganz herzlichen Dank dafür!Vom Wohnparadies aus kann man hervorragend die Gegend erkunden, mit dem Auto sind die schönsten Stellen des Perigord noir im Umkreis von höchstens einer Stunde erreichbar. Und wer gern wandert oder (Renn-)Rad fährt, freut sich über abwechslungsreiche, wenig frequentierte Wege und Straßen.Einziger "Wehmutstropfen": Eine Woche ist viel zu kurz! Doch wir kommen wieder - im nächsten Jahr dann für zwei Wochen...

Séjour tres agréable et environnement reposant

Hotes tres sympathiques. Hébergement rustique plein de charme. Literie de bonne qualité. Tout le confort et même plus ! Animaux admis, j'ai donc pu venir avec mon chat mais pas de chance car d'autres sont venus avec leur chien donc cohabitation difficile pour mon félin.

Merveilleux séjour

Nous avons passé une très bonne semaine dans ce logis des hirondelles, très bien accueilli par nos hôtes (des œufs, des noix et une très bonne bouteille de vin en cadeaux),très discret ,s inquiétant pour nous si nous avions pas froid au cas où que oui du bois a été coupé, un endroit très très calme, de plus beaucoup de choses à faire et a voir dans la région. Nous conseillons vivement cet endroit aux futurs visiteurs de la region.

Bonjour, nous avons 10 chaises longues par la piscine et je vous ai montré la Salle de sport. C'est dommage que il pleuvait toute la semaine mais ce n'est pas notre faute. Vous etes un proprieteur de Gite et c'est dommage que vous essayez amoindrir notre Gite parce que vous avez 4 etoile sur Abritel et nous avons 5 ! Dommage...

Es ist der Platz zum Urlaub im Perigord, zentral gelegen und wirklich ruhig und entspannend.Ein großer Garten (man könnte auch Park sagen), ein waremer Salzwasserpool, geschmackvoll und mehr als komplett eingerichtet und mit einem sehr persönlichen Service durch Andy und Uliana; nochmals herzlichen Dank für alles. Ein Wiederkommen steht ganz ober auf der Liste.

Magnifique séjour passé dans ce gîte idéalement placé entre les vallées de la Dordogne et de la Vézère. L'environnement du gîte et superbe, en pleine nature, idéal pour se ressourcer et passer un excellent séjour à visiter le Périgord. La gentillesse et la disponibilité des hôtes nous feront revenir en Dordogne sans aucun doute.
