Holiday rentals near Browning Bench Agricultural Museum

This was our first visit to New England, timed to see the famous autumn colours. At home in the UK we live in the countryside, and don't like towns very much! The Clearing was perfect for us - wonderfully peaceful and isolated yet within easy driving of some of the region's wonderful sites. Nothing was more than an hour away. Going west on the Mohawk Trail the colours just got better and better, and we enjoyed diving off on to even smaller quiet roads. We walked some forest trails, and took John's advice to visit Mount Graylock on our last day ( nice and quiet on a Friday - don't do it at the weekend unless you want to spend time waiting in traffic to get a parking space!). The accommodation is lovely, a real home from home. It's really well designed, and everything works. John has obviously given a lot of thought to the needs of his guests. We were blessed with wonderful warm sunny days, but chilly evenings meant we could feel justified in lighting the log fire and feeling really cosy! A great place to stay, thank you John and Joyce.

We had a great stay at the house. Really relaxing. Great trails and a swim in the lake each morning and evening to cool down were fantastic. The rowing boat was great fun and we used for hours on the lake. Nice bbq each evening as the sun went down - the house is a fantastic location and layout with everything you need....just wish we had longer...next time!
