Beautiful property in a great location. Communication from the owners was great. Would highly recommend for a family like ours.

Our 3-generation family loved this beautiful house. The children’s loved the play equipment in the garden and the indoor games, Carmel-opoly was a bit hit! The adults loved the outdoor space and the proximity to Carmel and other amenities. Jamie was a fantastic host. Thank you for a wonderful stay!

The house is huge. Loads of space including a large living room with a piano and fire, a games room with large pool table, ping pong in the basement, and a very large garden (especially for Carmel). Also the pool has been recently redone and was welcome during our stay as the sun shone the whole week. The decor is “old fashioned” but quaint and fitting the Carmel old style and history of the house, We had one minor issue with the pool heating not being on and it took a couple of days until we could use it but the owner gave us some guest cards for Monterey Aquarium to make up for it and the issue was resolved as soon as they could The location of the house however is the standout for us. Right next to the quieter Carmel River Beach and you can see the ocean from the garden and hear the waves at night. We would definitely stay again !

Really well presented and located property, exactly like the pictures. Owners very friendly and helpful; would highly recommend both a stay in Carmel and in particular, this property.

We travelled from Northern Ireland for a trip which included 6 days in this fabulous house. When you book so far in advance (spring 2018) and are making the arrangements to include 2 friends, you just hope it all works out. And it all worked out great. Terry the property manager contacted us on the first morning as we drive down from San Francisco to tell us the property was ready. When we opened the front door and explored the property it was like Christmas morning when we were kids! We sat outside and had a glass of wine and enjoyed the afternoon. The kitchen was full of everything you would need at home. The walk to the Main Street was about a mile but although we did it maybe twice a day we never tired of it as there are a variety of streets to walk on with many other amazing properties. And also a beautiful beach walk. The property is in great condition, we took a few photos as it gave the girls ideas for decor at home. The bedrooms and bathrooms were great. The living area, dining area was fabulous. Outside dining area was great- we didn’t get to use it enough as it wasn’t warm enough. Sadly we leave this morning to return to the real world. Great location between two beaches on a quiet road the house has real soul and is easy to live in

The cottage is exactly as it appears on the website and is perfect for two people. A short Uber ride and you’re at the beach or on the Main Street. There were a few oversights from the manager that we’re surprising and disappointing, particularly given how much he charges per night: 1. Check in was an unecessary mess. We arrived at the prearranged time to find the place locked up and we could not get hold of Bill for 30 minutes. When we did finally get hold of him it was clear that getting us in was not his priority because he was dealing with a problem in another property. It took a further 15-20 minutes of standing outside the front door for him to give us the entry code for the property. This all could have been avoided so easily if he has just given us the entry code up front. 2. A gas BBQ is provided. We were half way through cooking on our fist night and then the gas ran out. The house instructions send you looking for the spare, but it turns out there was no spare. We then had to finish cooking on the stove in the kitchen ... Again, something that could so easily have been avoided had the manager checked things properly. 3. Overall the standard of cleaning fell below what we would have expected. There was a mention of having a lower cleaning fee means that the guests are expected to do some cleaning themselves, but we were not told of this when we booked and given the high nightly cost plus the cleaning fee (which is not low for such a small cottage) we would have expected better. As an example, we had to clean some of the fridge before we could use it. A deep clean of the entire place is probably needed. 4. We had arranged use of the sofa bed and enquired as to where the bedding was. The manager forgot we had prearranged this and left us a voicemail about not having prearranged this, that there would b extra fees that we needed to discuss etc. Once again, something that was overlooked and not taken care of properly. Overall, it is a lovely cottage in a great location. We just felt that the manager let a few of the basics slip with our rental.
