Holiday rentals near Golden Ocala Golf Course

The house really suited us and our friends. Really nice location beside the river. Karen and Kevin were really responsive hosts and could t have been better communicating with us. We lived the space and the views, especially from the upstairs bedroom. Only downside for us was that the fridge could have been emptied of out of day condiments but that’s being picky about a really nice rental.

Dana runs a great experience at a wonderful peaceful soul renewing property. Love this place and already booked ahead! The river is awesome!

Pelican cottage was fantastic. Very tranquil and great to see the horses, chickens and of course the adorable dogs. Everything was as described with comfortable indoor seating and efficient A/C. Pool was a very pleasant escape from the summer heat. Plenty shade areas beside the pool and the gas grill was great. Kitchen was simple but perfectly adequate and well equipped. Excellent communications with owners in advance to allow a very late arrival (11.30pm). Instructions given, doors open and lights on. Max and Anne were very friendly but gave us plenty privacy. Easy access to interstate 75 (10 minutes). Grocery stores nearby. We visited several state parks and saw lots of wildlife: Silver Springs, Rainbow Springs, De Leon and a local historic site (author). Worth a detour to the historic town of Micanopy. Absolutely no negatives and would thoroughly recommend this cottage.

Firstly, the photos do not do this property justice. The house is located in a quiet cul-de-sac a few streets from the main road, but just a few minutes drive from supermarket, gas station and food outlets, and also the historic centre of town. It is on the bank of the Rainbow River at a spot where it widens, giving the impression of a lake. Every day we watched fish, water birds and even an otter from the deck. We used the house canoes and cycles. The river was perfect for us novice boaters! The house was very clean and tidy, and well equipped. There is a breakfast room where you can eat and watch the river just yards away. There are plenty of outdoor activities to do in this area, and Crystal River is worth a visit (20 minutes). There is a local housekeeper who met us there and we had good communication with the owners. We had no problems with the refunding of our security deposit either. This property was pretty much perfect for our trip, and not only would I stay there again, I would live there if I could - it was just that good. I highly recommend this property for a quiet or active stay - and there is loads of room for a big group.
