La Source
Our largest gîte at 110m2. Two bedrooms and a second upstairs lounge. Sleeps four in 2 bedrooms, sofa bed bed for fifth (child). Free WiFi. Recommended for Families
Ground Floor: Living and dining rooms open area is separated from the kitchen. Comfortably furnished area includes a wood-burning stove. Satellite television and region-free DVD and CD players. Kitchen includes a refrigerator/freezer, dishwasher, and washing machine.
Upstairs: 2 bedrooms with double beds. Additional lounge area with sofa bed. Large bathroom is doused with natural light and with a spacious douche a l’italienne. Separate toilet.
Outside: Terrace with large table and chairs and access to barbecue.

Domaine de Curé lying in middle of the vineyards with views of the Pyrenees offers 3 luxury gîtes with a private swimming pool set in a one hectare estate rich with numerous species of trees. The quality of furnishings and fittings is of the highest standard providing you with every comfort. Within the village of Conques-sur-Orbiel you can find both a café and a restaurant together with a selection of local shops. Supermarkets, gas stations, movie complex and other shopping are all within 5 minutes drive. For sightseeing and other activities in the region, the medieval fortified Cité of Carcassonne is only 10km away, along with the famous 17th century Canal du Midi. Other sites include the historical Cathar castles (Montsegur, Peyrepertuse, Lastours) numerous abbeys (Lagrasse, Fontfroide, St. Hilaire and St. Papoul) and many market towns. The Mediterranean Sea and Toulouse are 45 minutes away.

We spent a lovely time at Domaine de curée. I loved everything about this place! The owners were so lovely and helpful.The property was clean and spacious and the view from the pool over the Pyrenees was gorgeous. I wish we could have stayed longer.

Family holiday.

Great location, relaxing environment close to Carcasonne. The house is a middle terrace barn conversion with shared outdoor facilities including pool and barbeque. Hosts on site and helpful.

The Source

We couldn't have chosen a nicer spot. The gite was large and beautifully decorated. Whether relaxing by the pool or walking through the vineyard on the way to town, the setting was perfect. We did not know much about the area and Jean-Noel and Agathe were able to provide us with where to go and restaurants to eat at. The hiking in the forest and mountains was fantastic with great mountain biking. The numerous villages near by each had its own character and really gave you a good sampling of southern French life. The food was fantastic and we were able to buy local goods from a nearby butcher and food shop. After a day of touring it was so nice to relax by the pool drink great local wine, and cook a great dinner in a perfect setting. Jean-Noel and Agathe were perfect hosts.

Very welcoming and relaxing

As a family of four, which included our two girls aged 12 and 3, we spent two very relaxing and enjoyable weeks at Domaine de Cure in July 2015. Our hosts Jean-Noel and Agathe welcomed us on our arrival and went through the basic rules and requirements for our stay, this was nothing too excessive but ensured respect was provided to all guests and the accomodation. The gite was well equiped, clean and spacious providing everything we needed for our two week holiday. The gardens and pool provided adequate space for us to relax without being overly intrusive to our neighbours. The location of Domaine de Cure was excellent, remotely quiet enough but only a short drive to Carcassonne and some wonderful nearby villages. We travelled also to the beaches at Narbonne which was only a 45 min drive, La Franqui beach was particularly pleasant. Our host were always on hand to offer advice on excursions, local restaurants and nearby shopping, We also took advantage of Jean-Noel's locally sourced wine which in general we found to be very good. We would have no hesitation in staying here again.

Just fantastic

We stayed at Domaine de Cure for a week as a couple with an 8 month old baby. Firstly, the help and assistance offered by our hosts was brilliant. We needed to ship out some specialist baby food and it was made so easy by them, even collecting for us from the local delivery depot. The property is in a beautiful and quiet setting, so lots of privacy but only 10 minutes drive to shops for bread/butcher and a few minutes more to the larger Carrefour on the edge of Carcassone. Our Gite was very comfortable with everything we needed to make our stay comfortable with washing machine, dishwasher and plenty of quality kitchen stuff to make everything seem home from home. There is a high quality barbecue that we used every night. The beds are incredibly comfortable and the bathroom was just perfect. The area has a nearly unlimited choice of things to do and with easy access to the Auto-Route, we were able to go out and about everyday and see everything we wanted. If you choose to stay at home, there is a lovely pool and sunbathing area including a covered area which is great for shade with a raised floor. Our biggest vote of thanks is left for the owners and hosts, Jean-Noel and Agathe. They work tirelessly to make sure you enjoy you stay and are genuinely lovely people who immerse themselves in this beatiful property that they created and renovated themselves. We would really recommend this property as a high quality option for the Carcossone/Langedoc area. Michael & Lucy

Het was een heel fijn verblijf. Het huis is uitstekend verzorgd. Veel ruimte en fijn om te verblijven. Ook het zwembad is fijn. De eigenaren wonen er zelf ook. Ze zijn super vriendelijk en behulpzaam.Het is een fijne uitvalsbasi om Carcassonne en de omgeving te verkennen.

Genoten bij Domaine La Cure

We hebben twee weken heerlijk genoten in Gite Lavalle. Het is een ruime gite die van alle gemakken is voorzien; twee ruime slaapkamers met veel opbergruimte, een fijne badkamer met goede douche en dubbele wasbak, aparte wc. Ook de woonkamer en keuken zijn ruim. En alles is heel sfeervol ingericht en met aandacht verbouwd. Voor de gite kun je lekker buiten eten en er is ook een barbecue waar je gebruik van kunt maken. Zwembad zijn we ook vaak in geplonst :-) Jean-Noel en Agathe zijn heel gastvrij en zijn altijd in voor een gezellig praatje. Ook de wijnen waren heel lekker! De omgeving rondom het Domaine is prachtig, het ligt midden tussen de wijngaarden. Bakker ligt op 3 minuten autorijden en veel mooie dorpjes en andere sightseeing plekken zijn binnen het uur te bereiken. We zijn ook naar het strand gereden, richting Gruissan (ook ongeveer een uur rijden). Heerlijk breed strand en leuk dorp. Kortom, ga Domaine La Cure vooral zelf ontdekken, wij zouden zo een keer terug willen!

Très agréable séjour dans la région

Très bon accueil et gentillesse de nos hôtes toute la durée du séjour (2 semaines). Logement très confortable, très beau jardin, belle piscine. Emplacement idéal près de Carcassonne, à la campagne au milieu des vignes avec de belles ballades à faire (chemin de randonnée qui passe devant), proche de beaux villages et châteaux (Lastours). Très bon emplacement pour une découverte de la région. A recommander !

Wunderschöner Urlaub

Wir hatten einen wunderbar erholsamen Familienurlaub in diesem wunderschönen Haus. Wer die Ruhe sucht ist hier genau richtig, in nur 10 Minuten ist man in Carcassonne und bekommt alles was man braucht. Schöne Ausflugsziele in der Umgebung sind in 30 Min erreichbar, das Mittelmeer ist über die Autobahn ca 45 Min entfernt. Die Unterkunft ist sehr gut ausgestattet, sehr sauber und zum Wohlfühlen eingerichtet, der Pool mit Blick in die Pyrenäen ein Traum, der große gepflegte Garten zum Toben und Versteckenspielen perfekt, die Vermieter äußerst sympathisch und hilfsbereit. Kurzum alles in Allem ein wunderbarer Ort zum Entspannen, Genießen aber auch zum Entdecken.

Séjour en famille en Pays Cathare

Après un séjour d’une semaine en famille, nous sommes conquis par le domaine de Curé. Ce lieu plein de charme offre tout le confort et services que nous recherchions (piscine, barbecue extérieur …). A 15 mn de Carcassonne, il est facile d’organiser les visites du pays Cathare. A noter qu’il existe de nombreux circuits proposés à la journée. Nos hôtes Agathe & Jean-Noël nous ont fait profiter de leur connaissance de la Région et fait découvrir une belle sélection de vins. Bref, un lieu et un accueil que nous vous recommandons sans hésitation.

Fantastic short break

Our family and friends stayed in 2 gites (la sorce and la Forge). Both are beautiful, spacious and clean and the kitchens well equipped. It was a short break but just what we needed to re-energise. Already thinking about our return this summer for a longer stay!

WONDERFUL STAY

My wife and I spent 2 great weeks with our wonderful hosts, Agathe and Jean-Noel. One of the weeks we had another couple staying with us. The apartment, La Source, was LARGE and fully decorated and set up for a nice stay. Bedrooms were large, Bathroom (with separate toilet) also large. Kitchen fully equipped and has everything you need to make any meal. Our hosts were perfect, they live on property and are available for all your needs but never intrusive. We enjoyed chatting with them and a few evenings sharing a glass of wine before dinner! Another bonus is that Jean-Noel has a wide range of local wines for sale at very competitive prices. This is one of the best Gites we have stayed in and, if ever in the area again, will stay at this wonderful place.

Family Road Trip to the South of France

We arrived in Domaine de Cure on the Monday evening after a very long drive from Scotland to be met by the friendliest, most hospitable Jean-Noël and Agathe. Our stay there over the next 5 days was extremely pleasant and relaxing. The Gite was immaculate with such attention to detail, and our hosts were always on hand to share any local knowledge (and wine) and to direct us wherever we planned to go. Nothing was too much trouble. A few nights were spent sharing the company of both the hosts and the other residents which enhanced our holiday. Gorgeous setting, very clean, helpful hosts

We spent a very happy week here with our 2 boys who loved the pool and exploring the area. Lots of lovely walks, castles and pretty villages. It was lovely to retreat back to the calm of the gite and enjoy an evening BBQ. Jeal-Noel and Agathe couldn't be more helpful. The gite itself is clean and modern on the inside while the traditional stone building keeps it beautifully cool.

Early spring getaway

I stayed a couple of nights at Domaine de Curé as a side trip during business travel. While no one could predict the weather, I lucked out to have mild, sunny days - perfect for visiting nearby attractions like Carcasonne. Closer to Domaine de Curé, it was lovely to walk around the country roads next to the vineyards. Agathe and Jean-Noel gave me detailed recommendations for day trips, including a nice hike along the nearby Canal du Midi. I was able to stock up on food at nearby grocery stores and Jean-Noel had some excellent (and cheap!) local wines for sale to complement my meals. I can see this being a wonderful summer vacation spot, though I appreciated being in the minority as a tourist in the low season!

What a great place to be!

Uns war dieses Appartment bereits vor einiger Zeit aufgrund der Bewertung und der schönen Bilder auf dieser Internetseite aufgefallen und so hatten wir Jean-Noël & Agathe angeschrieben. Bereits der Schriftverkehr war so persönlich, dass wir uns entschieden, dort für eine Woche - ohne unsere Kinder - Urlaub zu machen. Die Unterkunft ist genau so, wie sie auf den Bildern erscheint: ein echtes Kleinod, was von den Besitzern mit viel Liebe zum Detail und großem Engagement saniert wurde. Von der ersten Sekunde an haben wir uns wie Zuhause gefühlt. Es sind dort drei Appartments, die sehr gepflegt sind, individuell eingerichtet, sehr gut ausgestattet und über einen Sitzplatz vor den jeweiligen Eingang verfügen. So kommt man unweigerlich mit den anderen Mietern in's Gespräch, was wir als angenehm empfunden haben, weil jeder sich zurückhaltend verhält. Der Pool ist großartig, bietet einen tollen Blick über die Landschaft und ist ebenfalls sehr gepflegt. Die Vermieter wohnen auch in dem Gebäude, im hinteren Bereich, sind also immer vor Ort und stehen bei Fragen gerne parat. Die Umgebung ist wunderbar; man kann sich viel anschauen, so z.B. eine Fahrradtour am Canal du Midi, die Besichtigung des Abbey de Fontfroids oder auch an dem Pool auch einfach mal die Seele baumeln lassen. Jean-Noël & Agathe haben gute Karten über die Gegend parat, köstlichen Wein und sehr gute Restaurant-Empfehlungen. Unser Fazit: Sehr empfehlenswerte Unterkunft, persönliche herzliche Betreuung durch die Vermieter.

Perfect staging post - Carcassonne & Canal du Midi

Delightful stay in a beautiful gite and well looked after by Jean-Noel and Agathe who proved to be helpful, friendly and informative. They've clearly worked hard to create a terrific location - peaceful but well positioned for exploring the beautiful surrounding countryside. The gite was well equipped, spacious and thoughtfully planned out. The whole experience was a complete pleasure and we were so fortunate to have had the benefit of early autumn colours but hot and sunny days.

Domain de Cure ist einfach toll

Wir waren schon einmal für eine Woche in 2010 in Domain de Cure in der Wohnung "La Forge". Da es uns damals schon sehr gut gefiel, haben wir noch einmal vom 29.08.2015 für zwei Wochen die Wohnung "La Source" gemietet. Die Wohnungen sind sehr geschmackvoll und mit viel Komfort eingerichtet. Vom Geschirrspüler, über Waschmaschine, Mikrowelle, Toaster, TV usw. ist alles vorhanden. Jean-Noël und Agathe geben sich sehr viel Mühe die Gäste immer zufrieden zu stellen. Die Wohnungen und der Pool sind in einem sehr gepflegten und sehr sauberen Zustand. Besonders ist noch die Ruhe zu erwähnen, die ideal zum Abschalten geeignet ist. Zimmertipp: Alle drei Wohnungen sind sehr zu empfehlen. Totale Ruhe und Entspannung ist angesagt.

We had a wonderful holiday in Carcassonne, staying at Domaine de Curé. The gite (La Source) was very comfortable with good attention to detail, such as having plenty of crockery and hanging space for wet towels! The surroundings are beautiful with amazing views from the pool area. Jean-Noël & Agathe were great hosts; they were always happy to make reservations, and kept us well supplied with excellent wine!

Fabulous Gite in France

We have stayed in five star accommodations all over the world, but we have never enjoyed ourselves anywhere as much as we did at Domaine de Cure! Upon arriving, we were given an incredibly warm welcome by the owners, Jean-Noel and Agathe. Domaine de Cure is a gorgeous picturesque petite-chateau nestled among beautiful vineyards with stunning views of the Pyrenees Mountains. It is an absolutely peaceful oasis away from the hustle and bustle of Carcassonne but close to everything. Our two-bedroom Gite was impeccably clean, bright and cheery! It was truly wonderful to be able to return to our Gite after a busy day of sightseeing and cook dinner while relaxing with other guests and the owners while sipping on a glass of wine! The owners went out of their way to ensure that our stay there was a memorable one! We can't wait to return to Domaine de Cure as it was so fabulous in every way!!

As described very clean good service would recom'd

We arrived and were pleasantly surprised Domaine de Cure was as described on the website, clean, modern and attractive. The owners were friendly and provided us with a good 'feeling' for the area, a friendly service for all our needs and ready to assist and advise on all matters both practical, (food shopping etc) and details of places / area's that we could visit. The property itself was good quality and in a really nice, quiet location. The 'pool' and surrounding area was a well sited 'sun spot' and we spent much time in and around the pool. Generally a great holiday for my family, I am happy to recommend Domaine de Cure to friends, family and all who read this review. We will certainly return in the future. Thanks Jean-Noel & Agathe for a great time in France.
