Wilson Schoolhouse Inn----- Ideal For Family Gatherings Or 2-3 Couples

Return to Class in La Crosse, Wisconsin
The Wilson Schoolhouse is located in a rural setting on 12 acres of woods, fields, and gardens only 8 minutes from historic downtown La Crosse. Rental includes the entire schoolhouse and will comfortably accommodate 2 to 8 adults during their stay. The old schoolhouse desks are replaced by modern, comfortable furniture. Where students once studied, you can now relax in comfort surrounded by Wisconsin hills, just a mile from the beautiful upper Mississippi River.​ The Wilson school was built in 1917 and functioned as a one-room school until 1965. It was recently restored and elegantly furnished to retain the "open" atmosphere of the original schoolhouse. It still maintains much of its original character and charm with the original slate blackboard and school desks. The schoolhouse is listed on the City of La Crosse, the State of Wisconsin, and National Register of Historic Buildings.

There is no charge for 1 child under the age of 12; please exclude this child when you request to book, but let us know that they will accompany you and what arrangements for beds that you will need.

Wonderful weekend getaway!

We had an amazing stay at the Wilson Schoolhouse. The property itself was well maintained, full of amenities (coffee, snacks, tea, etc.) and so comfortable for a group of girlfriends. The location is accessible and close to town yet far enough away to allow for total relaxation. Lisbet, the owner, was lovely and thoughtful and just a delight! We all would highly recommend it for a getaway.

Great Little Getaway!

We stayed at the Wilson Schoolhouse Inn during our stay in La Crosse for the State Dart tournament. Location was about 12 minutes from the La Crosse Center and was very convenient location. The schoolhouse itself was really cool and interesting. Well stocked with everything we needed and the owners were great about communication. I would stay here again without hesitation, really enjoyed it.

Super Cool La Crosse !

We loved the Wilson Schoolhouse and our two kids thought it was the coolest property they’ve stayed at. Close to everything in La Crosse with wonderful hospitality and anything we could have needed was in the house. We traveled with a bigger group, so we were a little nervous about the couch beds but they ended up being incredibly comfortable! Would stay again if in the area.
