Right in the heart of the countryside in beautiful Ryde, this collection of charming huts beckons the work-weary and the frazzled for some time away from the hustle and bustle. Whether you opt for your own hot tub for a break that’s all about lying back in the bubbles, or you prefer your hut simple and to spend your days exploring, these quirky circular huts are perfect. Open plan designs give each lodge a bright, contemporary feel, and with stable doors you can half open and enjoy the country views even when you’re spending time inside.

There’s something romantic about packing your bags and heading off to the countryside together, and Bay makes the perfect place for those of you keen to get back to nature and just enjoy the peace and quiet. Set on the beautiful Buttercup Barn Retreat resort in Wootton Bridge, Bay is surrounded by rural views that mean you’ll feel a world away from home. The stable door means you can leave the top half open and enjoy the sight of the scenery while you take time out inside, and the open plan design of this circular yurt-style lodge means it’s bright and welcoming for those times when you’re content to curl up and chill out.

The table and chairs outside the hut means you can dine al fresco and look for wildlife while you tuck in, and then retreat inside and get cosy. And if all that fresh air doesn’t ensure you sleep soundly, the ever-so-welcoming kingsize bed will! Thanks to a window in the roof, you’ll wake to find the light peeping in and coaxing you back outside for another day of adventures. With the town of Ryde just a 15-minute drive away in one direction and the sailing resort of Cowes 15 minutes away in the other, you’ll have plenty of choice when it comes to venturing further afield during your stay.

Bay can be booked together with Rosemary (BCBSHEP), and Olive (BCOLIVE) to accommodate up to 6 guests.

Wonderful little place.

My only complaint is that there wasn’t a blind/ curtain over the window in the door. We did put a heart shaped piece of fabric over the window but it was big enough. Other than that we loved it

Been here twice would definitely come again, found the sloop inn restaurant around corner, superb food and really reasonable x so friendly here, we ran out of milk and the owner was there in 2 minutes with a pint of milk! We had a great stay at Buttercup Barn.

We had a great stay at Buttercup Barn. The yurt was immaculate and well appointed. The addition of the hot tub made it the perfect place for us to unwind after our wedding. The one minor point I'd raise was that the little electric cooker could never get our pan of water up to the boil, so it made things difficult to cook, but apart from that we had a thoroughly enjoyable stay!

We stayed here in the first week of July for a few nights and it was simply perfect.

We stayed here in the first week of July for a few nights and it was simply perfect. If you want a quiet, relaxing retreat in a quirky little yurt this is absolutely the place. The owner gave us a warm introduction and as a local person was able to give plenty of recommendations to visit. The yurt itself was immaculately presented, very clean with everything you could need. Having looked at similar style places, one of the standout features here is each yurt has its own bathroom and kitchen rather than communal. The hot tub and bbq were clean and a great way to enjoy the outdoors. It’s a very small adult-only site, with only 2 yurts and 2 cabins in a field so very quiet.

Within 15 mins of arriving we were welcomed to the Yurt by the owner.

Within 15 mins of arriving we were welcomed to the Yurt by the owner. He took us through all the places to visit and where to find everything we would need, showed us how to work the hot tub etc. He then left us to our own devices and we didn't see him again for the duration of our stay. He was always available however of we did need or want anything. The yurt was beautifully decorated and provided everything you could possibly need. It was a home from home (only I wish my home was as lovely). I really couldn't recommend this holiday accommodation enough.
