This is a lovely carriage house with the most spectacular views. It is quiet and cosy - a perfect getaway. The family are across the road and are so welcoming and helpful without being in any way intrusive. We had a lovely time and hope to be back.
The carriage house and property was absolute perfection! Everything exceeded our expectations. Communication with Andrew was great, and his sister welcomed us and showed us around. The location was close to downtown, and lots to see and do. But far enough away from the crowds at this time of year. Cozy, peaceful, and the views...I'll be dreaming about until we return!
We loved our three day stay at the carriage house. It is quintessential Vermon , and the setting and location are awesome. It is very comfortable and we saved a lot of money by cooking our own meals, a welcome respite from restaurants on our 6 week road trip. And laundry facilities, too; another real bonus. If you want to capture the real essence of Vermont, and feel like a true Vermonter, book this place. We are pretty sure you won't be disappointed.
This house is the perfect size for a couple, but would also suit four people. It’s extremely clean and well equipped. The owner lives across the street and is a wonderful gracious host. Beautiful gardens. Her dog Alice is also very sweet and our dog enjoyed playing with her. We hope to come back here again and would recommend it to friends and family. Extremely quiet and beautiful. You have not seen Woodstock until you drive up Cloudland Road. Pure magic
Once in a blue moon, you find a place that feels just right for the season. This Cloudland Road cottage gave us a quintessential Vermont fall getaway: time to enjoy nature and quiet reflection, with wonderful restaurants and theatre nearby. The cottage is lovely, with a thoughtful mix of beautiful antiques and modern furnishings. The kitchen had everything we needed, and the comfortable beds made it easy to settle in. I spent my birthday week here, and it was a wonderful setting for a quiet celebration. Morning coffee on the deck, surrounded by breathtaking scenery, and watching the moon rise in the evening were among my favorite moments. We also enjoyed our conversations with Margarete and hearing about the history of the property. She is a remarkable woman. If you’re looking for a simple, welcoming cottage experience surrounded by Vermont’s natural beauty, I highly recommend this one.
Pristinely cared for guest cottage in a beautiful setting. Host was detailed oriented and thorough during booking process. Woodstock is a lovely Vermont town with great shops. Highly recommend.
Such a lovely property! The owner met us when we arrived and gave us a tour. She explained everything we needed to know and even offered some suggestions concerning restaurants. We recommend booking the Carriage House for your upcoming trips.
This property is so close to Woodstock but tranquil and rural. The carriage house feels cozy and private. Hosts are absolutely delightful and flexible.
Perfect! The home was clean and comfortable for our group of four. Plenty of outdoor activities nearby. Woodstock has lovely shops and restaurants. We will be back.
Our whole family stayed for a week in the Woodstock area and the home we rented is a very special place. Beautiful building and grounds, gracious hosts, Floor plan is very helpful and all facilities top notch. Will be back.
The carriage house was the perfect place for our family to wind down 2023. The location provides easy access to skiing, hiking, and Woodstock attractions and the house is very comfortable. The views are incredible! We loved meeting Margarete and Alice, and hope to be able to visit again soon.
WONDERFUL! Margarete, our hostess, was absolutely the best. We visited almost daily and thoroughly enjoyed her stories and spending time with her. The property was perfect for our stay and the mountains and trees were beautiful!
We loved our first visit, and our second visit did not disappoint! Mountain sunrises over snow-covered fields were a sight to see, and the Carriage House provided a great location from which to bring our young son to the ski mountains. Thank you again!
We book a few VRBO properties a year, and this one was special. The listing was accurate, but the photos don't do the views justice — daffodils in full bloom, rolling green hills against a mountain backdrop, every window like looking at a postcard. The farm setting and grounds are beautifully kept. We had more than enough space for the two of us and our dog, easy in-and-out (no fence needed), and plenty of room to walk. Margarete was warm and attentive — she walked us through the property and checked in to make sure we'd worked out the heat once it turned chilly, though it's been a cooler-than-normal spring, so that may have been unique to our stay. Her dog Alice was a delight. Woodstock itself delivered the rest: restaurants, farm experiences, cheese!, hiking, shopping. The quintessential New England experience — and a property we'd happily book again.
Beautiful property, wonderful location, delightful hostess. We loved our stay at the Carriage House with gorgeous views of rolling green hills and nearby mountains. Our hostess (in the main house across the road) allowed us to wander her many acres of land including her own lovely backyard with flowers and views. The location, a short distance from Billings Farm and the town of Woodstock, also provided us with opportunities to walk the rural backroads with quaint barns and interesting farmhouses. The Carriage House itself, while slightly aged, provided everything we needed, and we felt the only improvement could be a more updated bathroom. We would happily stay again at this lovely location!
Fantastic week spent in the Carriage House. The view from the back porch is so perfect and serene and the house is spacious and so relaxing. Our hosts were among the best we’ve encountered; Andrew provided excellent insight on where to go and what to do and Margarete was an absolute delight! We will definitely stay with you again when In Vermont! If you’re looking for THE perfect getaway that’s close to everything but secluded on a lovely farm, look no further. Loved it!!
