A lovely stay in a lovely village

The cottage was charming, very large, well equipped, and suited our group well. Bathrooms were nicely updated. Two areas of feedback would be the mattresses- they were rather uncomfortable- and a general deep cleaning as there were cobwebs and spiders. It was very nice to have a car park and access to Sudeley was wonderful. It served as a perfect base for our Cotswold wanderings.

Three + couple stay in Winchcombe, Cotswolds, UK.

The title should already betray that the location is magnificent. It sets a high bar. One of the most beautiful parts of the English countryside with a delightful atmosphere. Easy to get to and surrounded by visiting options of all kinds. Cotswold stone adds value. ('No riff-raff' A Basil Fawlty might say). Archers Cottage is simple to find, with good off-street parking. It is within easy walking distance of the town - that has a delightful array of interesting shops, castle, church, museum and eating places. The church bells are within hearing distance - which sets the scene. The property itself is spacious, newly decorated, clean and very well appointed. A large, very well provisioned kitchen, connected to two separate areas with several large tables, and a comfortable lounge (with log burning fires). The back garden includes a bar-b-que (but it was mid October when we visited). We all had a great time and would fully commend it. If you enjoy it half as much as we did - then we would have had double the pleasure of you - but even so it will be great! Happy holiday :)

Perfect base for wedding at Sudeley

The house was great. The layout downstairs and upstairs suited our multi generational family perfectly. The new path to Sudeley was very walkable.

A really lovely property that could do with a little more attention to detail.

We had a lovely weekend in the property, booking and communication was very good and the property delivered for what we needed. My slightly dampened review is on the basis the garden and frontage of the property requires some more attention to detail, bramble growing over the patio needed to be removed to accommodate outside dining and I swept the path at the front of the property. The property was clean and tidy inside though windows, window frames and entranceways could do with a little more upkeep. All in all we would stay at the property again, the location is first rate and the facilities worked well.

Perfect for a weekend away with old friends

It was the location that attracted us to this property. An ideal distance for 6 friends who live around the country to travel. Also great for us to use the free admission to Sudeley Castle, spend an afternoon in Cheltenham and enjoy a meal out in Winchcombe, just a short walk away. We requested the beds were split into singles so the bedrooms and bathrooms worked well. 3 showers between 6 of us. The rooms were quite small but we found the beds comfy. In the kitchen, we had to run the dishwasher regularly to have enough mugs and glasses but we were able to cook a meal and all eat around the dining table together. The fridge was small for 6 (a gathering of old friends needs room for a bottle or 2 of wine!) and would’ve been tricky for 8. And the freezer needed defrosting. But we generally found what we needed. We could all sit comfortably in the sitting room to chat or read, and made a bit of use of the table in the garden. The parking was very convenient, just around the back and accessible from the garden.

Cotswolds Heaven

Archers was a perfect place for our family group of 8 to holiday in the picturesque village of Winchcombe. The spacious kitchen, dining room and lounge room were all decorated beautifully and fitted out with all we needed to be comfortable . The garden was wonderful for the children as they ran around playing with their new Sudeley castle swords and watching the brook flowing past. The pretty bedrooms all had ensuites attached. We loved walking up to the castle with free entry and the children spent many happy hours at the adventure playground there. The steam train nearby was also enjoyed.

A fabulous cottage in a lovely area

We were looking for a cozy cottage in which to spend Christmas with the family and Archers was perfect. It was exactly as described in the listing and just what we were looking for.

Great stay for a wedding at Sudeley Castle

Stayed here for a weekend as part of a wedding at Sudeley Castle. Ideally located and very comfortable. My only small piece of feedback was that the beds were very hard and could have done with a topper mattress. Otherwise brilliant stay and would highly recommend to anyone.

Archers at Sudeley

We love the setting of the Sudeley cottages and the access to the castle. Very comfortable at Archers cottage and ideal for a family group. Winchcombe has good pubs and great Indian restaurant. Cottage well equipped- only suggestion we have is that for size of cottage and number of guests then a larger fridge would be useful. We will return next year!

Archers

The location is wonderful and a short walk from Winchcombe and its amenities. Anyone tall should be aware of the low beams. The house is spacious and and well equipped.

This is why I stay in hotels

All the furniture is sagging. We are both about 60-65kg and laughed at how much we sank on the couches. The two mattresses we tried were awful. Like IKEA mattresses after a decade. I haven’t slept on anything so bad since college. Sheets ostensibly clean but I didn’t dare to lift them to see below. There was black mold in both the showers we used. It’s an old house, sure, but there are cleaning agents to fix that in the modern world. We absolutely didn’t use the kitchen.

Great stay

We used the cottage as accommodation for our bridal party before my wedding and we were so pleased with how clean, quaint and lovely the cottage was. The kitchen was well equipped and the information regarding check in and check out was great. Only thing that could make it easier would be more precise address to give to taxis as they did struggle to locate the cottage.

A beautiful cottage in an historic Cotswold village

A perfect stay - great layout for a group of friends, particularly ground floor with the generous linked kitchen, dining and living areas. Very close to the village centre, and several long walks from the door step. Everything you could need - very comfrtable and relaxing.

Daughter’s wedding

I stayed at Archers cottage with family of varying ages for my daughter’s wedding. The cottage was clean and tidy on arrival. There was a starter pack of essentials which was great. Fully equipped kitchen. Fresh towels in all rooms which were all good sizes. Plenty of bathrooms. Would highly recommend.

Lovely cottage in a perfect spot

The house is clean, well equipped and tastefully furnished. It also has a large attractive garden. It is located a very short walk from both Winchcombe High Street and Sudeley Castle, to which entrance is free if you stay here. Both Winchcombe and the castle are charming. A lovely place to stay, with much to see in the area. Highly recommended.

A beautiful and comfortable base

My favourite so far of the Sudely Castle cottages. Very roomy and comfortable, beautifully fitted out and having so many bathrooms worked perfectly for our little group of friends attending an event at the castle. The only slight criticism was the fridge size, for a house accommodating 8 people, the fridge was very small!
