Canal-side architect-designed tiny house

Deep Lock Studio is an architect-designed, canalside mini house, located 5 minutes' walk from Bath Spa train station and the city centre. The Studio offers a bedroom with kingsize bed, and futon-style sleeping facilities for two further guests in the living space. If you require linen for the sofa-bed, please let me know in advance of your stay.NB: Two of the bedroom walls are high, but do not reach the ceiling (see pictures). There is a fully equipped kitchen. There is a full-sized bath with shower, and a separate WC.
The Studio is situated next to the quaint but buzzing Widcombe High street, where you can feast at an array of places, from authentic Indian restaurant Bikano’s to The Deli café. The studio overlooks the picturesque and historic Kennet & Avon Canal, with its wealth of wildlife. Instagram @deeplockstudio

Kate’s studio was exactly what we needed when spending a weekend in Bath! It’s a short walk from the train station and offers a great view of the boats passing through the lock on the canal. One step out the front door provides easy access to the Skyline trail, which we would highly recommend! We would not hesitate to stay here again.

Would definitely recommend this property if you stay in Bath! Great location. Owners were amazing to communicate with and very helpful, answered all our questions promptly. We loved being by the canal and one of the many Locks. Bath was beautiful and this property made you feel like you were at home.

We loved Bath and this flat so much! It was cute and clean and had everything we needed for a few days in the area and we enjoyed being on the canal. The main attractions were a short walk away but we loved loved being across the river in a quieter neighborhood with great shops and restaurants that were less crowded. Thanks for being helpful and accommodating hosts!

Unique Location

Well located with plenty of canal traffic locking through. We did not need the car throughout our stay for the Bath Festival. Host was helpful in providing access directions. Interior was exactly as described and well equipped. We very much enjoyed our stay.

My architect husband Jonathan and I worked extremely hard for a number of year converting a derelict garage into the beautiful Deep Lock Studio, making the very best of a small space in a fabulous location. Located directly on the canal towpath with views over the canal basin beside the second deepest lock in Britain, it has all the benefits of a canal boat holiday without the compromised space.

What makes this property unique

5-10 minutes' walk into the historic centre of Bath. 5 minutes' walk from Bath Spa train station.
Easy access to the high street of our little part of Bath, Widcombe, where you will find a gastro pub, an old-fashioned boozer, a chemist, a doctors surgery, a deli and a cafe and the ever-handy, late-opening convenience store.
