Authentic Farm Dream House with an eclectic flair

150 year+ old farm house with stunning views. Imagine driving down the road and seeing a farm house perched atop a hill the over looks the River Shannon. You knock on the door, the owner greets you and tosses you the keys. This house is not the Ritz Carlton thank God. In fact its a home preserved in time with lots of funky things. For us it worked...for others maybe too outdated or weird. Do your homework....this is a gem full of character. Its huge and perfect for a large family.

Ideal country getaway

It was like staying in a time capsule, in an ideal setting overlooking the beautiful Shannon estuary. It was lovely to wake up to a field of cows every morning! The house is huge, and has everything a group would need for a country retreat. Labasheeda is a lovely little village but it doesn't really have much, there is a shop only in the day time during the week, for anything outside 9-5 Mon - Fri you have to drive about 20 mins each way to the nearest town (Kilrush I believe, which has everything you need! (Restaurants / pubs / shops) and as we had a car, this wasn't an issue for us! I'd recommend this for a group of friends who want a bit of a retreat from their hectic lives, that's what we did and we loved our 3 nights! Thanks so much to Geraldine who was an excellent host.
