Retro style - renovated and remodeled

Lille Cottage is nestled among the woods on the edge of Fish Creek and Ephraim. It is conveniently situated across from Peninsula State Park hiking trails, off-road bike trails, and cross-country ski trails; 1/4 mile to the State Park Golf Course. Lille Cottage was remodeled and updated (May 2017) to reflect the "retro" theme of this 1950's built "lille" (tiny) cottage; Bathroom renovated in (Mar. 2023). Savor the quiet sounds of the woods and the crackling of firewood burning over the open outdoor fire-pit ~ roast s'mores each evening to end the perfect day in Door County!
Whether it's hiking, biking, or skiing at the State Park, relaxing at the beach, boating on Eagle Harbor Bay, playing a round of golf, or just reminiscing by the fire ... Lille Cottage welcomes you!

This cabin is adorable! The retro vibe really makes it special. You can tell that items in the house were thoughtfully curated and carefully chosen. It’s absolutely perfect for a couples getaway or a small family vacation. The fact that well-behaved dogs are allowed is a bonus.

Beautiful property in the heart of Door County. Whimsical and wonderful 50’s retro decor. Our hosts Brad and Amy were great to work with and the cottage provides a peaceful oasis right off the main road. Back yard fire pit area puts you in the middle of nature and is very quiet. Highly recommend!

About the host

The Russell family, of Iowa, purchased this second property in May 2017 and have begun extensive renovations. Brad and Amy Russell are native Wisconsinites, who have adopted 12 children; and thus want Lille Cottage to remain 'child-friendly' and enjoyed by families... (Your pets are welcome, too :). We will continue to rent the cottage, extending it to year-round rental. They have made several renovations to the home (new kitchen w/retro appliances, bathroom, Mst. bedroom). The name "Lille Cottage", which means "tiny cottage" to reflect the cozy cottage feel. We welcome you to 'Lille Cottage!!!

Note: The Russell's also have another vacation rental cottage (circa 1853), "Arbor Cottage Loft" (vrbo 307617), which is located in the center of the Village of Ephraim and has 100' of private waterfront w/white Adirondack chairs to relax and enjoy the views. It faces west for incredible sunset views over Eagle Harbor!

Why they chose this property

We enjoy renovating and bringing life back into older properties... So when this "quirky" cottage became available, we snagged it! We are currently renovating the kitchen, bathroom, and landscaping the backyard for more outdoor enjoyment (opening June 2017, hopefully :) ... Playing off it's 1950 construction, we are designing a "retro" theme of new, but vintage looking appliances (turquoise refrig from Big Chill), and retro wallpapers - complete with a "tacky", but so cute, flamingo bathroom! It's fresh, colorful, and fun!
We also renovated "Arbor Cottage" in Ephraim....and have so enjoyed meeting new friends/guests ... Looking forward to seeing you this summer at Lille Cottage!

Quiet, tucked back off the main Hwy 42 (near corner of Hwy A) and conveniently located across from Peninsula State Park "A" entrance - easy access to hiking, biking, and cross-country skiing ...
