This charming two story four bedroom Madaket beach house offers breathtaking panoramic water views. Located on Smith's Point, a tranquil peninsula at the western tip of Nantucket, this home offers views of both the bay and the ocean! Just a 2-3 minute walk to either Madaket Bay or Madaket Beach! Choose the Bay Side for calmer water or Beach side for waves and surf. The Bay side is perfect for families with young children and for Stand-Up Paddle Boarding or kayaking. A short 5-minute walk over a picturesque wooden bridge leads to the bike path, small general store and ice-cream stand, Millie's Restaurant (dine-in & take-out) and shuttle service to/from Nantucket town. Famous for spectacular sunsets, Smith's Point offers visual splendor well into the evening hours.

This "upside down" house's great room, kitchen and dining area are on the second floor so guests can thoroughly enjoy the breathtaking water views. The fully equipped kitchen features a central island with stool seating, and the adjacent large dining area comfortably accommodates ten people. Guests can enjoy the sweeping water views and stunning sunsets from the expansive deck. There is an A/C window unit in the Master bedroom (upstairs) and in the largest bedroom downstairs. Family amenities include propane grill, bicycles, bike helmets, beach toys, Stand-Up Paddle Board, Boogie-Boards, Cable TV, WiFi, DVD player, MP3 portable speaker, books and board games. Easily accommodates two families. No Pets allowed. No landline telephone.

Great Smith's Point Location

Perfect for families, kids love the close walk to the bay beach and you'll get the best sunsets on the island as a bonus. Homeowner is very responsive and was a pleasure to work with.

We had a fantastic visit to Smith’s Point! The house was clean and well stocked (my kids loved the boogie boards). The location couldn’t be better with the big wave beach and calmer beach both a minute walk away. Abby was very communicative and easy to work with. We can’t wait to return!

Wonderful place

This is our first time at Smith Point and we loved it. Three minute walk to two great beaches, wake up and go to sell to the surf and the birds. Great sunsets. Abby was very responsive and house was great.

Idyllic stay on Smith’s Point

My husband and I have been renting every summer on Smith Pt for over 20 years (& he for 40+ years) and this was, far and away, our best experience ever. The house has gorgeous views, spacious outdoor seating, beautiful breezes, comfy couches, separate areas to spread out in, and is very well maintained w plentiful linens, books, and amenities (for the beach & otherwise). The owners were great and were in touch about everything and checking to make sure things were going ok. Can’t recommend the house enough and will hope that we can manage to return to it someday.

Perfect home in unbelievable location

I have visited this end of Nantucket Island for over 30 years and now my family has extended to three generations. Abby's home was perfect for all of us. The home's location a few minutes walk from both the bay and open ocean and has die for views off the upper deck. The four bedrooms, spacious open concept upper floor and additional living room on lower floor gave everyone plenty of room to commune or be off by themselves. The house was clean and neat with comfortable furniture. All amenities were present including extras like bikes and a paddle board (which we all enjoyed!). Abby made checking in and understanding house particulars easy. We are coming back!

Perfect beach vacation

My family and I loved staying at this beautiful Madaket house. The views are fabulous and it is a quick walk to a quiet uncrowded beach. The house is well-equipped with beach chairs, umbrellas, towels, paddle board, bicycles and more. Plus there are plenty of supplies in the kitchen for big dinners with lots of people. I loved how they have the TV downstairs so if the adults want to linger at the dinner table, the young kids can go downstairs to watch TV and one group is not disturbing the other group. The owner, Abby, could not have been nicer and responded immediately to all questions. I highly recommend this house. My only reservation in doing so is that now everyone will know how great it is and it won't be available when I want it next time!

My family began visiting Nantucket in 1974 when I was 7-years old. My parents bought this house in 1978. At the time of purchase, the structure featured a studio above 9-foot garage doors and housed the owner's boats. We renovated the house as an "upside down" house (family area upstairs) to take full advantage of the spectacular views, and built an addition in 1983 to enlarge the house.

We have been enjoying Smith's Point and Madaket ever since! The house has witnessed our families grow and has become a touchstone for each of us. No matter where we go or what we do the rest of the year, we always return to Madaket come summer!
