Casa Rural Cal Porxo

Located in the centre of the village of Pradell de la Teixeta, in the Priorat region, the house is easily recognisable by its two distinctive large entrance porches. The porches were discovered during restoration work and are the reason the house has been known by this name for many years.

The porch on the left is the entrance to the rural house, while the porch on the right leads to the farm shop selling Priorat gourmet products.

The renovation of the house was carried out while preserving, as much as possible, all the structural elements characteristic of village houses from that era—wooden beams, stone walls, etc.—carefully exposing the original stone walls without going beyond what is appropriate. The stone also provides thermal inertia, which helps retain heat in the winter and keep the house cool in the summer. The finishes and details of the house have been crafted using high-quality materials—handmade terracotta flooring, wood, handcrafted ceramic sinks, etc.—all combined to create a final atmosphere that balances comfort, rustic charm, and modernity.

Cal Porxo is spread over three floors. The ground floor features the entry hall. On the ground floor are the living/dining room, kitchen, bathroom, and a single bedroom. On the second floor are two double bedrooms, a bathroom, a study, and a laundry room; and finally, on the third floor, the terrace.

Cal Porxo offers the following amenities:

Fully equipped kitchen: oven, microwave, dishwasher, refrigerator, Nespresso coffee maker with a variety of capsules (quantity varies depending on the length of stay).

Laundry room with washing machine and iron.
Free cot.
Travel bathtub for babies.
Hair dryers.
Central heating.
Wi-Fi internet throughout the house.

In the entryway of the house, you'll find tourist information about the Priorat and neighbouring regions.
Cleaning starting on the third day of your stay and every three days thereafter (for stays shorter than 12 days, cleaning will be billed at 60 euros per day of service). Guests may opt out of this service.
Full-fridge service upon arrival: This service consists of providing (upon the guest's request) products available at the farm shop to enjoy throughout their stay at Cal Porxo, or the option to have prepared meals available on the day of arrival or any other day when guests prefer not to cook.

In the summer, free access to the municipal swimming pool.
