Atlantic Retreat Summer Holiday

This is our go to holiday destination in Bude fantastic location for beach and town quiet road and parking outside. The owner is always helpful and we would totally recommend this property.

Great location

A wonderful stay. Even though the online description incorrectly indicated a dryer, our hosts graciously offered to dry our clothes for us. Which they did, picking up early evening and returning early evening. Fantastic service.We really enjoyed our stay.

Lovely property

Couldn't have asked for anywhere more central for beaches, shops, pubs, restaurants. The cottage has everything you need on a quiet road set back from the main road. Not forgetting the space for the dog outside who loved running around.

The whole house needed some tlc, there was mould by the bath panel and the wood was disintegrating. The shower curtain was mouldy and we asked for a new one which the cleaner was supposed to be delivering 7 days later but did not get it. There was no mattress protector on the main bed, which the owner did offer to reimburse when I had to go and buy one, and I found that the pillows on the single beds did not have pillow protectors either. The lights were flickering in the dining area and we once again contacted the owner and was asked to change the bulb but the light stopped working completely after putting in two different new bulbs. The hot water when having a shower would get cold halfway through and you would have to turn off and then back on. Also little things like only two coaster, we bought some and left for next visitors and no cleaning products, not even a mop and bucket and we had to empty the hoover before using as it was so full.We did message the owner, through VRBO to start for the mattress protector, shower curtain and lights but she said they were on holiday abroad and the cleaner would change lights and shower curtain but this didn't happen.The house could be a lovely place to stay as it is in a good location.

Damp

The property is ideally sited with carking spaces (suggest notice Private parking had a couple times couldn't park as others in stretet pinched space. Main problem was the strong stench of damp. the property was wet, the beds damp, when we opened the kitchen cupboard to use the pan it was covedred in mould disgusting! in fact all the pans etc where in same state. The property is desperatley in need of some TLC, soft furnishings etc. Taking this into account I do not feel it was good value for price charged. In fact as i have chest problems I now have a chest infection and on antibotics, probably caused the damp. It is a shame because it could have been a holiday trasure with a bit of care.

Heatwave not Bude like weather 😃

Stayed here for the second time we love the area and Bude is our go to holiday location. I totally recommend this house it’s location is excellent for access to the beach we love surfing so this venue is perfect it’s in a quiet road and this fulfilled our needs completely.

Lovely house in great location

Lovely house with great sized rooms. Location was fab. Useful to have parking at property. Communication from owners was very prompt. All good.
