Peaceful getaway nestled in a woodland of fern and oak trees.

An excellent location to base yourself while exploring Connemara national park and it's amazing surroundings. We were so surprised at how quiet and secluded the farm was, yet only a short drive from the main street of downtown Clifden.The sauna on site and the nearby forest trails were amazing. - Aoife & Brian

A lovely break away

We loved our stay at Fernwood! We stayed in The Bothy, which was absolutely perfect for us. The accommodation was spotless, cosy and beautifully presented, and the hosts had thought of everything, from teas and coffees to even providing a flashlight for the lovely walk to and from Clifden. We had a wonderful stay and would highly recommend Fernwood. We’d love to return!

Beautifully converted Bothy in a stunning setting, with access to the loveliest woodland sauna

We loved the bothy and the woodland setting is wonderful. We also liked that it was only a 30 minute walk to Clifden, which is a lively attractive town with good restaurants. (And a very good bike shop!) The woodland sauna with its incredible lake view was a huge plus as well.

Unique relaxing environment , birdsong and great comfort.

Made to feel very welcome, without any intrusion. The woodland, lake inlet , farm and river offer really healthy walks and wildlife. The accommodation is very good and to a very high standard.

A fabulous woodland reset with beautiful decor, spectacular wild flowers and a sauna!

We loved walking the woodland trails, spotting ferns, primroses, violets, bluebells, sorrel and so many birds. The sauna and plunge pool were wonderful and we loved the sourdough bread in the bothy.

goregous little relaxing stay.

I absolutely loved little things about this stay, like how the fire was set, how everything was so clean, THAT sauna, wow. I also loved the style and that the kitchen has everything you need if you do need or want to cook, which is probably the best option when you're staying here.

We booke this for our parents. They both really enjoyed the peace being in nature

We loved the re wilding that is taking place on Fernwood, the planting of trees We stayed in the bothy and loved the little garden can you tell us the name of the rose and the name of the artist who did the print of the fern. The design of the bothy was great and the other buildings on the site simple the use of natural materials. In the bothy there was a great selection of books we have read isabell trees book you are doing something similar on a smaller scale , it is a wonderful place

Peaceful, luxury accommodation in the heart of Connemara

Fantastic stay in the Bothy at Fernwood. This is a hidden gem location and very well designed by Anne & Simon. The private sauna and plunge pool really topped it off. The accommodation has everything you need for a few days stay and it's only a 2min drive to Clifden but you could easily not leave Fernwood at all! We will definitely be back.
