Blissful forest escape

We love everything about our stay. The stunning building, incredible surrounds, beautiful sauna and restorative plunge pool. The local area was great too, plenty to do in and around Clifden, good food, drink and entertainment and only a 20 minute walk away. It was a good balance of accessibility whilst making the accommodation still feel peaceful and secluded. Oh, and the stars you can see walking back on a clear night are amazing! Absolutely brilliant stay, so glad we booked it.

Pure Hygge

Loved everything about the design of the Stilt House. From the cozy fires in the stove to a sound sleep in a comfy bed, against the huge windows with the incredible backdrop of trees. We left so refreshed after our stay. The hospitality and attention to detail at Fernwood from the deign of the facilities to the curated books is impeccable. I especially loved the hiking trails and taking the time to appreciate the natural world. Fernwood is a great place to do that.

A quiet, beautiful, and authentic retreat in nature

Love how Anne and Simon created Fernwood - and continue to live with and nurture nature - not control or consider themselves separate from it - and have invited others to come and take respite there. We loved exploring the property a bit - picking fresh veggies from Anne's garden for dinner - and relaxing, gazing out the many "windows to the world" in the Stilt house, watching birds, butterflies, and bees outside. Wish we had more time there and less jet lag!

A fantastic stay, so comfortable and relaxing!

The location and scenery are amazing, they really set the place apart, but I was extremely impressed with the comfort and overall quality of the accommodation which made the whole stay even better. I really appreciated how everything on site was so thought through, and how all the little details added up to make my stay so enjoyable. I would love to come back as soon as possible!
