With fully retractable sliding doors, the living room takes advantage of the view and breezes and allows for easy conversation with guest on the veranda. A vaulted ceiling towers over the common room, that includes the living, dining and kitchen.  The fully equipped kitchen has an island with seating for four.  A round formal dining table for six is perfect for conversations about your daily adventures and enjoying a home cooked or catered meal. With the addition of a triple water filtration system, water is clean and clear for consumption.

Three bedroom king suites open off the living room making this an ideal layout for families with children. Each of these suites offer a king bed, plenty of storage, ceiling fans and identical bathrooms for a fuss free vacation for three couples. Air conditioners, though hardly ever needed on Bordeaux Mountain, are installed in every bedroom."

Great location and views

The house was in a central location to explore St. John. The main three bedrooms were lovely, and the views were breathtaking. The kitchen was well appointed and had everything that you could want.

Amazing Centrally Located Home in STJ

We had an amazing stay! The place was well-equipped and thoughtfully furnished. The beach chairs were incredibly comfortable, and there were plenty of coolers and beach towels, which made our beach days so convenient. The beds were super cozy, ensuring a great night's sleep. We also loved spending time on the porch—it was the perfect spot to relax and enjoy the views of Coral Bay, East End, USVI and Tortola. The host was very responsive and made everything easy for us. We can't wait to come back!

Fantastic House

This property was perfect for our visit to St. John. The views from the home were fantastic. The location was great - easy on/off from Centerline Rd which takes you to Coral Bay or Cruz Bay. The house has starlink Internet and worked really well during our stay.

House is well stocked with family friendly layout. We did not use the downstairs bedroom and bath - just didn’t need it. The porch is very nice for morning coffee and afternoon cocktail. Would definitely stay here again!

Stunning views of eastern St John straight up the Sir Francis Drake channel.

Property met all our expectations. Very well equipped. The driveway is steep aas are many villas on St John. Daunting the first time you approach, but totally navigable with either a 4 wheel or AWD vehicle.

We had an amazing time at this mountain top retreat. After spending our days exploring the beaches of St. John, it was such a treat to return to this beautiful home. The view and the breeze from the porch was to die for. It really was spectacular! The kitchen was well stocked, plenty of beach towels, comfortable beds! What more could you ask for! We easily drove to town and the all beaches! We seriously had the best vacation ever!!

Lovely Property

Everything well done at Sapphire Sunrise. Most complete set of cooking utensils ever seen. Beds very comfortable, although a feather pillow would've been nice. Easy access off Centerline. Only downside to property is that sun dips below the hillside about 3:00.

Early July vacation

We really enjoyed our stay at Sunrise. The property was clean and had all the amenities needed. You’re roughly 15 minutes from the beaches or Cruz Bay. Although the driveway looks steep it was easy to navigate and there’s enough room to park two small suvs. We rented a jeep for the week and had no issues getting around the island. Our group included 5 adults and 3 children under 10. Between the pool and WiFi the kids stayed entertained. There’s a well stocked kitchen for cooking and we also used the propane grill on the deck. We had a great time!

Property manager met us and showed us up to the villa. He showed us all of the rooms and special details about the property. The villa is centrally located and not difficult to drive to. All of the rooms were comfortable, and the villa was clean. There was a bit of a roach problem, and we did kill a rodent that was living in the kitchen cabinets. We noticed something was eating through our bagged up snacks at night. Not sure about the roach situation, but it would make sense that a rodent could get in due to the living room doors being able to slide all the way open, etc..the dishwasher was broken the whole week we were there. Not a horrible problem. The views were beautiful, and the house was comfortable since it had AC. We did not use the pool given that it is far to the right and not visible from inside of the house. Would recommend this house to families looking to visit St. John.

Just wow

We were very sad to leave! arriving (as others said) can be daunting given the extreme narrow roads, hair pin turns and steepness of the driveway but once you settle in you realize this is everywhere on the Island! unless you stay in Cruz Bay be prepared for an adventurous trek to/from beaches. It was fun! We ate in a lot and we had everything we needed including beach chairs etc. If I had to say anything negative, the request to take out your trash upon leaving and find a dumpster along the road was a bit of a bummer (I think a cleaning fee should cover this as well). Not want you want to do with kids and luggage already packed in a car. Perhaps the owners can also look into heating the pool? also a bluetooth speaker would have been a plus. All that said, we made some fantastic memories and plan to be back! Spectacular views, gorgeous property and very peaceful. Thanks

Immaculate house, fantastic location, gorgeous views!

My wife and I stayed for a week with our two children and my wife’s parents. This was our third time visiting St John, so we were quite familiar with the island. First, this location on the island is ideal - we stayed in this area last year and will continue to do so. You’ll be close to the beaches and the drives to Cruz Bay and Coral Bay aren’t bad at all. Shambles and the Windmill Bar are also right around the corner and great spots to eat and drink. This house is by far the cleanest and ‘nicest’ of those that we have rented on St John. The bedrooms were great, kitchen was well appointed, and the covered porch and patio served as a perfect place to relax in the afternoon. The view from the living room / porch is fantastic - the pictures in the listing don’t do it justice. We loved the gigantic sliding doors that connect the living room to the porch - due to the high elevation and nice breeze, we hardly used the ACs and just enjoyed the open air. I see a lot of ‘we’ll be back’ reviews on VRBO, but we will definitely be returning to this house next year.

Best View Ever

We loved this house! Very clean and new, extremely comfortable. There are two bedrooms on the main level, each very nice and with their own full bathrooms. There is one bedroom on the upper level, also with it's own bathroom. The lower level has a bedroom, but you have to go outside and in another door to access the lower level bathroom. We just used the upper three bedrooms. What we loved best was the view overlooking Coral Bay and how comfortable the furniture was. We could have spent all day just sitting and looking at the view. I will admit that the drive up the mountain scared us a little when we first arrived. We aren't used to driving on the left, and the roads are very narrow and twisting. The driveway up to the house actually kind of terrified us because it was so steep. It was our first time to St. John's so this was all new to us. It felt like a lot of work to drive anywhere, even though you're only a 20 minute drive from pretty much anywhere on the island. Overall, this house was beautiful and the view was so fantastic. We would stay here again.

Amazing week at Sapphire Sunrise- highly recommend!

We loved our stay at this property. We’ve rented all over the globe, and this was a family favorite. The house has an amazing layout. We have three teens (two girls, one boy) and the bedrooms were spacious and well situated. The views and the breeze up there are amazing. The pool is small but private and lovely. Kitchen is incredibly well stocked. Coolers and beach chairs are high quality. It’s a fantastic location to explore the entire island from. We much preferred it over Cruz Bay…so peaceful and quiet! We loved Francis Bay & Maho beaches; both super close. The smoothie/breakfast place 5 min down the road is great too! Be prepared for a steep driveway, but it’s worth it…once you arrive you feel like you are almost in a treehouse. For that matter, if you’re new to St John, it’s important to know it’s VERY hilly. We loved every minute, but you just want to be prepared for steep terrain and you absolutely NEED a Jeep! The management company was easy to deal with and listened to our concerns (internet was down the entire time we were there, we made it work but if you need it, make sure you get confirmation it’ll work for you). We would definitely like to return. Highly recommend!

The Villa was incredible. We loved being mid island as we love Coral Bay but Cruz Bay and the beaches were close as well. Could go in any direction for the days adventures. The Villa had everything we needed. The host was super responsive. Our arrival was easy as we are familiar with the island. We had no issues and would select this spot again.

We’ve been to St. John many times, and Sapphire Sunrise Villa on Bordeaux Mountain is truly one of the best villas we’ve ever stayed in. The kitchen is impressively well-stocked with everything you could possibly need—cookware, plates, utensils, and plenty of glasses—making meals at home a pleasure. The beds are wonderfully comfortable, and the layout makes the entire space feel inviting and serene.Its central location is ideal—getting to either side of the island is quick and easy. The pool is beautifully private and absolutely perfect for relaxing after a day at the beach. Every detail of this villa is so thoughtfully designed for comfort and enjoyment.I can’t wait to return to Sapphire Sunrise and would definitely book again without hesitation!

Perfect location!

The location is awesome . , Sapphire, Sunrise is centrally located on the island. We knew we wanted to spend most days at Majo and this location was awesome. The layout was perfect for our family of six and we enjoyed the villa tremendously. If I had to complain, the only complaint would be the size of the television. We would definitely stay at the Sapphire Sunrise again.

Great Rental

A lot of things to really like. Great chairs, coolers and equipment if you're going to the beach. Great kitchenware if you're planning on eating in. I'd say it's closer to a 20 minute drive to Cruz Bay and a 12 minute drive to Coral Bay, but a location that you can do either realistically. In any event, one of the easier houses to get to on St. John. Probably the first time we've not had a power outage, whether good luck or the backup battery, I don't know. Description and pictures are accurate, but a couple of things. The pool is smaller than you'd anticipate and the layout means you either look at the view or look at the pool, not both. The sole TV is tiny. As the description says, bring your premium channel user ID and password if you want to watch. We could never figure how to log in to CBS, NBC etc to watch network sports.

Beautiful Getaway

It’s hard to put anything bad when you are in St John’s because it’s a paradise. The house is very nice with great views. The best part is it is centrally located to all the beaches and restaurants on all sides of the island. The one downside is the beds are extremely hard and the pillows are terrible. I know everyone likes different types of mattresses but one could easily provide some variety on the beds for pillows. It impacted are trip for all of the adults as sleeping was rough. I ended up using a sweatshirt for a pillow the last couple nights to get some sleep. Again a great place to stay but would hope owners consider it a little as it would drastically improve the experience.

Great Mid-Island Location w/ Beautiful Views

Photos of Sapphire Sunrise don't do justice to this property: It is brighter and lighter and more expansive in person. This was our first trip to St. John, and though we knew we wanted to be close to the national park and beaches, we debated about various locations. Sapphire Sunrise on Bordeaux Mountain turned out to be a great choice with wonderful breezes and outstanding views. The villa has everything you need to enjoy the island -- beach chairs, beach towels, coolers -- along with a well stocked kitchen, very clean and comfortable bedrooms, lots of covered patio space, and a very comfortable living area with adequate seating for our family of seven adults. We loved that the villa was so spacious while also feeling like we were all in the same general area (three bedrooms open up right off of the large living area). It's important to realize that the fourth bedroom and bath have a separate entrance on the lower floor and are quite removed from the rest of the living area. The fourth bedroom's bathroom that must be accessed from outdoors, which might be important to some people. Overall, this was an excellent rental property from which to enjoy St. John, and JP was a very helpful, responsive and accommodating property managers during our stay. We had a problem with the oven not working and we planned to cook most of our meals in. First, JP delivered a toaster oven to the villa and then had the large oven replaced. Both of these moves were late in our stay, but we appreciated the effort to rectify the only hiccup in an otherwise great experience. We would definitely stay here again!
