Family 4 bedroom townhouse with private garden and walking distance to beach
Regent Street Townhouse is everything a Victorian townhouse should be; high ceilings, original coving, wide period staircase and original floorboards, with all the modern comforts guests need!
Sleeping up to 8 across four bedrooms, it's perfectly suited to families and groups who want proper space, flexibility and a home that has real character. Two super king bedrooms (both convertible to twins), a double bedroom and a single room with a pull out trundle that converts to a super king give the layout real versatility for different group configurations.
The large light filled lounge is a genuinely lovely space to come back to after a day out; original floorboards, high ceilings and a calm, considered aesthetic throughout. The well equipped kitchen has everything you need for self catering, with a dishwasher, washing machine and a dining area for shared meals. The property is thoughtfully stocked with essentials and is well set up for families with young children, two travel cots, a highchair and stair gate all available.
Outside, the sunny sheltered courtyard with its table and chairs is a lovely spot for morning coffee or evening drinks, one of those outdoor spaces that always gets used more than guests expect!
Shanklin is one of the island's most characterful seaside towns and Regent Street puts you right in the heart of it. Quirky and spacious townhouse, located on a central high street.Overall, a good location, parking nearby, and we used the space as an extended family of 6. The living space is above an adjacent high street shop, and the access is at the front with an individual side corridor to the front door with keysafe access. This is hidden by a front wooden gate, and can be bolted at night as an extra safety feature, if needed. Good mobility is required to use the stairs/move about the three floors - I recommend the property is suitable for agile young children, teens and adults. Property is functional and tidy, lovely features and high ceilings, lots of airy and spacious rooms to hang and chill. There is an array of visitor comforts, with eclectic furniture and arrangements for over flow seating, and multi-use spaces. We enjoyed the decking area of the quiet garden, each morning with a cuppa. The property maintains good working appliances and utilities (washing machine, dishwasher, hoover, etc.), and entertainment items, such as books, games, tv. Both bathrooms were welcomed and ensured we all had hot showers and good pressure each day, and we had a towel provided per person. The shower on first floor is bigger and more accessible. The period property is older and the flooring creaks in various rooms and on the landing/stairs (as expected); the kitchen floor is dipped in part, assuming the flooring under the lino is sagging. Overall, happy with the property and enjoyed by my family.
Generally it was more than adequate and we enjoyed the stay helped significantly by beautiful weather.
We were disappointed with the neglected garden/outdoor furniture . The conservatory did not resemble the photo on the website and could not be used as a seating area.
Well equipped kitchen and good bathrooms.
Overall, a good house but with shortcomings that should be addressed.

This is a lovely, clean and well equipped house. Although based on a busy high street, the location was good and close to he beach, although parking tricky at times.
Nice sized bedrooms and a lovely open living space for larger families.

Hello, My name is Louise and I am of Dutch nationality. I am delighted I have been given the opportunity to open up my recently renovated Victorian townhouse in this popular seaside resort on the Isle of Wight. The house has undergone major renovation including new plumbing and boiler, electrics, plasterwork and decorating. In the process I discovered wonderful and original Victorian features and I am very proud to own this spacious and comfortable property. I have visited this lovely island for over 30 years and it feels like my second home! Whatever the season, it does not cease to surprise and charm me and I hope you experience it the same way. Enjoy your stay!
