We really enjoyed our stay. The accommodation was everything we needed for a short weekend stay. The kitchen was well equipped and the bottle of milk was a lovely touch. The area the accommodation is in is just beautiful. Would highly recommend.

Just marvellous. A perfectly peaceful stay. The hosts are wonderful and we had a lovely chat with both Mimi & Arthur. The apartment was so clean and comfortable. Everything we needed to prepare food after a long day of riding. Will be returning in the future.

We had a lovely peaceful stay for our wedding anniversary and fishing so a great central location.. I second other guests that The Crown in Lea is a lovely place to enjoy food too.. we also had a takeaway from the Chinese in Ross which was generous and tasty…The accommodation is very pleasant and clean .. it suited us and was very comfortable..we would definitely book again

Fabulous forest stay

Lovely apartment with everything required for our stay. Hosts were very accommodating and quick to reply to messages particularly with the short notice of our stay. Beautiful area of the country, would recommend this property for those looking for the peace and quiet of the country.

A most enjoyable stay

An immaculate property, well tucked away on high ground which afforded beautiful views. Single lane access for about a mile and satelite navigation a great help in getting us there. Would certainly stay again.

Beautiful restful space

Lovely property on the edges of the forest with great walks and cycling. The hosts were amazing...attentive, informative and helpful. The garden was great to eat in and take in the atmosphere. We would love to revisit and would highly recommend for a quiet get away for 2.

Peaceful retreat

*A perfect stay in the middle of nature – highly recommended!*We had an absolutely wonderful 10-day stay and were so sad, that we had to leave last saturday. Mimi and Arthur were incredibly warm, friendly, and helpful. They were always there for us whenever questions arised or we needed help and they gave us amazing recommendations for local hiking and walking routes. We loved chatting with them – they made us feel completely at home and well taken care of.The annexe is set in the middle of the most beautiful nature. It is incredibly peaceful and relaxing. We used the garden every single day, whether it was for breakfast in the morning or to unwind in the evening while listening to the sounds of the sheep and the muntjac deer. The location is an ideal base for larger day trips to Wales, Bath, or the Cotswolds. At the same time, the local area itself is stunning and well worth exploring (Mimi and Arthur have great personal tips for this, too!). We would definetely come back and can highly recommend this beautiful place to anyone looking for a perfect getaway.

Great Hospitality

Nice place with very considerate hosts. One morning we mentioned to Arthur that the frying pan was warped and a bit difficult to cook with, and when we returned that evening a bag with a new pan was hanging on the door. Arthur also made some good recommendations for visiting local attractions. Enjoyable stay.

Arthur and Mimi are your hosts. We moved here in 2018 and enjoy living in this beautiful countryside location. The Annexe is within the grounds of our smallholding where we keep rare breed sheep and pigs. We love hiking and there are many trails to be found in the immediate area, as well as slightly further on in the Forest of Dean. We live in the main house near the property and are on hand for any questions or help you may need.

Why they chose this property

The Annexe is ideal for couples seeking peace and quiet. It is nestled in the Forest of Dean and walks are available from the doorstep. It is ideal for walkers and cyclists. For ameneties, Ross-on-Wye is 10 minutes away and Gloucester and Hereford are within 30 minutes' drive. The beautiful Wye Valley and Symond's Yat are within 25 minutes' drive.

What makes this property unique

At the Annexe we offer comfort and cleanliness within and beautiful outdoor setting for affordable rates. All that the Forest has to offer is within a short drive. This includes golf, The Wye Valley Butterfly Zoo, clay shooting, hiking, water sports on the Wye River. Riding experiences can be booked in Lea Village and Greenacres Stables, just 5 minutes away. Lea Village also offers a small store.
