We have stayed at many self catering accommodations and this was by far the best. Debbie and Brian were wonderful hosts and the Stables was an excellent spot to explore Yorkshire,. With all the thoughtful touches, and delicious welcome treats, it truly was a home away from home. We enjoyed hearing about the farm, seeing the animals, visiting with the dogs and exploring the many walks around the beautiful countryside. It is a very peaceful spot and a beautiful part of the world that we feel lucky to have has the opportunity to have visited.
We had a wonderful stay at this beautifully converted barn. The property blends rustic charm with modern comforts. Everything inside was exceptionally clean, the bed was comfortable, and the kitchen was fully equipped with everything we needed and had lots of extra treats added.Being on a working farm added such a lovely, peaceful atmosphere to our trip. Waking up to beautiful countryside views and seeing the cows etc was exactly what we wanted. The hosts were very welcoming and helpful, making check-in / out processes smooth and effortless. We loved our stay and cannot recommend this place highly enough. We hope to stay here again !
What a fabulous place! We had 3 nights at the stables and enjoyed every minute. The property is equipped with everything you need and more. Debbie and Brian are lovely hosts and the extra touches on arrival were really nice. This is one of the best rentals we have ever been in. We will be back and highly recommend.
Fantastic property and hosts, such a great place to use a base or to just chill out and relax. Really well equipped and luxury feel, additional little touches like fully stocked tea and coffee facilities, fresh milk and a little welcome pack of snacks, muffins and even some fresh bread is the perfect start to a perfect stay.
Probably the best cottage we have ever stayed in! Very well furnished, equipped with everything you could think of, great views of countryside and cows and a very generous selection of provisions and goodies.
We were visiting Darlington for a special family celebration and were looking for somewhere close by that could comfortably accommodate a family of four and had that lovely, relaxing holiday feel. The Old Stable fitted the bill perfectly and felt like a rare and special find.Communication with Debbie before we arrived was very good and the instructions to find the property were easy to follow. The property is stylishly decorated with a beautiful blend of modern comforts and traditional charm. We loved the original stable beams, the log burner and the large picture windows with far-reaching countryside views. The home was spotless and the welcome pack a really thoughtful touch. It is cozy, peaceful, and very well-equipped - Debbie and Brian have thought of everything you might need. The views across the fields are gorgeous. We enjoyed wonderful sunrises and sunsets and were even treated to a glimpse of the Northern Lights whilst there. We hope to return again.
The property was easy to find and located in a beautiful location. We were greated by the owners and shown around the stunning property. The photos just don't do it justice.
It really did feel like a home away from home and would not hesitate to stay here again.

Thank you for the great review! - We are so pleased you enjoyed your weekend and found the barn comfortable. We love to hear that visitors feel that it is a home away from home. We hope that you choose to stay with us again in the future.
This place is amazing, we stay in a different location every other weekend - and this is the best place we’ve stayed at.. it’s ticks every box.. absolutely perfect, you’d never regret booking this place!!!
Absolutely beautiful property and Debbie was a wonderful host! The animals made me SUPER happy and all the little details went a long way. I can’t say enough about how much I loved this property. Until next time!
The style and decor of The Old Stable was top class.
A lot of thought has been made by the hosts, to make sure that whatever you may need is provided for.
The hosts, a warm and friendly couple, (along with their gorgeous new puppy) couldnt have done more for us.
Hands down the best home away from home we've stayed at!
Our family group of four adults have just spent three nights at this superb well equipped property. The extras of cake, scones, home baked bread and other treats left by our hosts were very much appreciated on arrival. A lovely quiet location with beautiful scenery surrounding this recent old stable conversion. It has been tastefully done and brought bang up to date. Although the weather wasn't kind to us we had a thoroughly relaxing weekend and will definitely be staying again.
My family (two adults, two children under 12) spent three nights in this converted barn, and we loved every second of it. The place was spotless, well equipped with everything we could possibly need or want (including fresh-baked bread and scones!), and very comfortable. Debbie and her husband were gracious hosts throughout our stay, and their friendly and playful farm dog Monty kept our kids occupied for hours. We all feel genuinely refreshed and reenergised after our altogether-too-short stay. We will definitely be going back.
The house was in every detail perfect. Debbie took care of everything. It was cosy, very comfortable and furnished with a great taste. The beds were very good. The kitchen was particularly well equipped. The welcome was warm with a lot of homemade surprises. The house is situated on a farm, a little bit in the middle of nowhere, with breathtaking views on the surrounding landscape. We felt so happy there! Thanks so much Brian and Debbie!
From the moment we arrived we were impressed. The property is a recent stable conversion and everything brand new. All the household goods you could possibly need also a laundry room. The pictures do not do justice to the property. We were met by Debbie and Brian on arrival and they could not be more helpful, with information on surrounding area and places to visit. Also shopping and restaurants in the area. So many places within easy reach, Richmond, Catterick, Hawes, Barnard Castle and Whitby to name a few. I give the accommodation a 5 star rating and highly recommend it.

Thank you for the five star review! - we try to include everything to make it a special home from home stay. Pleased you found plenty of places to visit in the area, we are in a good central location and North Yorkshire has so much to offer.
It's absolutely stunning, the property and the surroundings are exquisite.
We spent a week here, switched off. From the moment we to a look out of the beautiful gable end window we felt instantly relaxed. To witness so much nature right on the doorstep was wonderful.
We enjoyed some lovely walks around the local area, down to the beautiful pond. and being walked by the charming Monty. We had a tour of the farm from farmer Brian, and now appreciate more the hard work that goes into running a farm of this size.
There was everything we could have needed for our stay and more. The stable is exceptionally well thought out with beautiful design, with complimentary furnishings and art works.
We booked to come back almost as soon as we got home, Monty we're coming back!!

Thank you for the wonderful review and we’re so pleased that you had such a relaxing enjoyable stay. We look forward to seeing you again soon!
This property lives at the end of a long country road. And the moment we opened the door we were impressed. The huge living room/farm kitchen was comfy and perfectly decorated. The host Debbie and her husband Brian had gone out of their way to make us comfortable. Debbie left, homemade brown bread, six eggs from her chickens, four homemade scones and milk, juice, jam and butter. The beds were super comfortable with beautiful linens and warm duvets. Everything was spotless. And the place had every amenity you could imagine from tissues in the bathroom, luxury, soaps and shampoos, to high-quality towels. And there was everything one could need in the kitchen. Debbie and Brian were amazing and helpful. I would recommend this property to anyone for a wonderful holiday.
This home is surrounded with beautiful scenery, very well equiped and maintained. Owners were very welcoming and appreciated the personal touch which made our stay special. Great place to stay for relaxing and enjoying nature.
There aren't enough superlatives to adequately describe how good this treasure is. Lovely & thoughtful hosts, gorgeous barn conversion, nothing too much trouble, wonderful walks, friendly farm dog... I could go on but won't. In a nutshell - it would be a joy to return.
