Had a great stay here for a long weekend. Location is just far enough from town to be quiet, but still a shortish walk away. Perfect location for trips into the dales, particularly handy for Swaledale. Cottage is clean, comfortable, and well equipped. Looking forward to staying again!
The house has everything you need for a relaxing break, big tv with Netflix etc, the beds a very comfortable Only 10-15 min walk into town,(slight hill way back) the garden is a big bonus should the weather be nice, there’s also a little suntrap at the side of the house, should we return to Richmond we wouldn’t hesitate booking again .

A Great Cottage in an Enjoyable Town
The property was everything that we wanted. It was clean, and had modern shower facilities. The bed was good, and the kitchen had every type of appliance. The close location to the center of Richmond was ideal, but its position on the outer edge of the city meant that it was nice and quiet. You can walk to town center, or park your car just down the Hurgill Road so that the walk is shorter. Yes we would recommend this property to anyone.
Richmond is a great town. We visited from Australia for the Boots and Book Festival, and enjoyed every moment. There are stunning walks out of the town, and it can also be used for a base to discover the beautiful Swaledale valley. A visit to the Bowes Museum at Barnard Castle, along with a show at The Georgian Theater Royal, and a walk to the ruins of Easby Abbey are a must do for your visit.

Thankyou very much for your comments they are much appreciated

The cottage is finished to a high and modern standard. It was very comfortable and the heating was simple to control. The open-plan layout downstairs made for a relaxing stay. Both bedrooms are a good size. Having a main bathroom plus an extra WC is convenient. Shaun the host was helpful, friendly and available. He provided clear instructions which made the place easy to find. It's located in a lovely part of Richmond, and is so quiet we even heard an owl one night while in bed. Thank you for a lovely stay.
This is such a lovely holiday cottage in a gorgeous part of the country. It is really well presented and the owners have equipped it so well. Richmond is a quaint place with good places to eat out or just to sit and have a coffee. There are lots of lovely walks in the surrounding area and pretty Yorkshire villages and towns to visit. We'd highly recommend it for value for money. Shaun was an excellent host and was always quick to respond to any questions.
Had a super few days relaxing, taking in the superb scenery and the sweet hospitality of the people of Richmond. Highly recommended for a break away from city life and to recharge batteries. The cottage has everything you need, just pack a suitcase. Shaun is on hand for any concerns or worries, which is great wait off your mind. Will certainly be returning again.
This was a last minute decision to go away and we were so lucky to find this property available.
The property was spotless, very comfortable with amazing views from all windows.
The property is a short walk into the centre of Richmond, so no need to find a parking space. We did a couple of walks straight from the property in and around Richmond.
Shaun was very prompt in replying to enquiries.
We would definitely recommend staying at this property.
Recently spent 3 nights here and had a lovely time. The cottage is modern yet traditional, very clean and comfortable with beautiful views over the countryside. Situated up a hill about ten min walk from town centre so may be not suitable for the less mobile. Very relaxing stay.
Really nice, comfortable cottage ideally located on the edge of Richmond. Very clean, well presented and well equipped.
Lovely walks in and around Richmond and in the National Park. Was a very relaxing week, highly recommended.
I recently enjoyed a lovely holiday in this cottage. The location for visiting the Yorkshire Dales & surrounding area was perfect. The cottage very comfortable with all you would require. It also had great views from the garden patio.Shaun was great to deal with .I would highly recommend this property.
Firstly Shaun is the perfect host, informative and always there if you need him. The property is located in a quiet out of town location. It is equipped with all the necessary requirements for a self catering holiday. We had great weather so the patio was well used.
As others have said the cottage is a pleasant 1/2 mile walk into town, which we walked each evening, stopping on the way to watch a bit of cricket. It should be noted however, that the cottage is at the top of very a steep hill, which maybe a problem if you have health or mobility issues. For us this was no real issue, as this is why god created taxis, all of whom were more than willing to take us on the short (£3 fare) back up the hill. This said, Richmond is another one of those towns were you are generally either going up or coming down a hills so you get used to the exertion.
I have absolutely no reservation in recommending this property to anybody thinking of of a visit
Perfect location for Yorkshire and the lake District. Cottage is clean ,well equipped and perfect for walking into Richmond would definitely stay again.
We are so glad we found Shaun and Gillian’s lovely cottage for our 12 day stay. The location, in a neighborhood on a hill but still “in town” overlooking Richmond was a perfect place to stay. You can walk 3 minutes to the coast to coast trail (and many others) or drive directly into Yorkshire National Park with endless touring and hiking options. The cottage is sparkling clean and equipped with everything needed for a short or longer stay. The private patio and garden are gorgeous!. Our hosts were super informative and totally not intrusive. And thank you Shaun for giving us the “highest pub in the UK” tip - a highlight of a fun trip!
