About this property
The abode of the green with swimming pool
If you’re looking for a holiday away from the chaos, concrete, and hustle and bustle of the city—and want to be surrounded by nature and comfort—this villa is the ideal place for you.
Salvo and Miriam, the villa’s owners, want to offer you a holiday filled with relaxation and fun with family or friends, whether basking in the Etna sunshine (between a rumble and a lava flow) or in the shade of a walnut, oak, fig, almond, apple, or pear trees.
The villa features a spacious living room: in the innermost part, you’ll find a sideboard and a dining table for 10; on the other side, three comfortable sofas—one facing a 69-inch TV and the other two flanking it. Near the dining table, a door leads to the kitchen, equipped with every amenity (oven, microwave, toaster, kettle, coffee machine with Lavazza capsules), and to the first two bathrooms; both have showers (one of them houses a 7-kg washing machine). A third room in this area leads to the first bedroom, which features a closet and a TV.
From the kitchen, through a French door, you can access a patio and then the outdoor dining area, which also includes a dining table and a small fridge-freezer. But I’ll come back to the description of the garden and its amenities later.
Upstairs, accessible via a staircase located in front of the table, you’ll find two more bedrooms. The first one, known as the “dorm,” on the left just past the stairs, is a delight for the little ones. It looks like the Seven Dwarfs’ bedroom, but with one less bed. The ceiling is low, and the floor and all the panelling are made entirely of wood; aside from the six beds, there are only nightstands, and the atmosphere inside feels straight out of the fairy tales of Hans Christian Andersen and the Brothers Grimm. On the opposite side is the master bedroom, perhaps less spacious than the others but nonetheless finished with meticulous attention to every detail. A double bed, two nightstands, four dressers, and a TV make up the few but essential pieces of furniture inside. What stands out and lends a magical touch to this space as well is the porthole window situated opposite the front door; it might seem out of place—more suited to a nautical setting—but in truth, it is another deliberate design element, specifically placed to bridge and blend the natural elements outside with those inside. Even the tree that can be glimpsed from the street as you approach the property—and which immediately catches your eye the moment the gate opens—is reminiscent of the Whomping Willow from the Harry Potter novels. On this floor, there are two additional bathrooms with showers, both located near the two bedrooms.
As mentioned, the exterior and the surrounding green spaces constitute the predominant and defining feature of the property. In fact, the villa does not appear out of place in its natural setting; it blends seamlessly among the trees, hedges, and the vast lawn to the left of the entrance. The property is full of nooks and crannies where one can retreat to read, rest, or simply have a picnic.
The aim is to create harmony and establish a balance between the built environment and the natural environment by integrating the various man-made elements (the villa, the furnishings) with the site’s natural features. According to the vision of the great architect Frank Lloyd Wright, all of these elements become part of a single architectural space.
Bright, open areas alternative with others hidden by vegetation; the myriad shades of green will mesmerise and envelop you, making you feel like an integral part of the surrounding environment.
For lovers of outdoor sports, there are also various activities to enjoy: ping-pong table, basketball hoop. All bedrooms are equipped with air conditioning, and Wi-Fi is available throughout the property.
