The villa and grounds were absolutely beautiful. Unfortunately, our experience with the host and the way the property is represented in the listing made our stay much more stressful than it should have been. The biggest issue is that the property is listed and described in a way that, from an American traveler’s perspective, makes it seem like you are renting an entire private house/villa. That was not our experience. The property actually consists of multiple separate apartments, with multiple entrances, and some areas/apartments are private and not included in the rental. While the host did show my uncle around, she never showed me around (even after asking her to do so three times). My uncle did not understand what was and wasn’t included. Our family utilized two rooms that were not included in the renting and the host made it a point to come in and let us know during dinner and in front of guests. She noted that there would be additional costs for these hiccups/cleaning fees and ect. The hot water did not work in one shower a day after we arrived and when asked, she said to turn the handle the other way. She came by 30 minutes later and turned it back on. Extra toilet paper is also not included, she did bring us some due to it being a Sunday and nothing being open. In the end the host did not charge us the additional cleaning fees which was nice but the first 3 days there were not pleasant. Prior to leaving, at least one of the rooms had been rented with people in it.
