A lovely property in a quiet location. The house had everything we could need for a short stay and was well equipped with cleaning products, toiletries and essentials. The fresh milk and bread and butter were a lovely touch. The house was clean and well presented and hosts were around should we have needed any help. A lovely stay- perfect for visits to York and the surrounding area.

Very nice cottage. Well stocked with all the amenities you need, including stuff for the kids. Sue was very welcoming on arrival and had even baked some brownies for us. Being on a farm also kept the kids interested with animals and a small play area. Would stay here again.

Lovely cottage absolutely everything in there that you would need. Butter milk bread and cookies all left for us Highly recommend staying here. We will definitely return. So clean comfy beds perfect stay. Just a grumble at Verbo who added an extra 60 plus for a service charge that was not on the initial booking just appeared on the final balance. (verbo get this not the owner of the cottage) very misleading. They also quote in the ad that hand towels are provided so we took our own bath towels but all towels were provided.

Weekend stay

We stayed for a weekend while we were attending a wedding nearby. We arrived late so didn't actually meet Sue but communication was good and everything perfect in the cottage.

Spotlessly clean and well equipped. We were a party of 6 and certainly had enough space. Cottage is well situated and very quiet. There is a Woodland off lead dog area about ten minutes away which is worth visiting if you have a dog.

Stay for York

Lovely property out of the way, had everything we needed, and nice welcoming brownies, milk, bread and butter. Quiet, peaceful.location with short drive to small.supermarket. York drive 30 mins away, and also on way there is a park and ride, tonsave on parking in York.

Lovely place everything you needed and more. Stayed two nights to go to my grandaugher’s wedding. Some nice unexpected touches bread butter jam tea coffee milk and excellent home made brownies. Car needed, no pubs or restaurants within walking distance. Thanks for a lovely stay.

Great cottage

A fabulous little cottage with everything by you’d need. Sue, the owner, left cupcakes and essentials which was very lovely and thoughtful. Everything was clean and well presented. The children didn’t want to leave!!

Top quality rural stay

Very cute barn conversion , everything you could need in a place. Kitchen well stocked with pans, Crockery, utensil, foil etc. Also had tea, coffee, herbs etc. Lovely touches with the bread, crisps and homemade buns. Would be great if there was a loo upstairs and the bed was so hard for me but I guess that’s personal taste. Easy to follow directions and simple to get into York. Would definitely recommend.

Wonderful holiday home with an outstanding host

We had a fantastic time in Sues converted barn. Sue had arranged a perfect welcome with brownies and a starter package with toast, jam and marmelade, milk and butter. The barn is equipped with all that is needed, and the location provides calm and relaxation. Sue is very supportive and friendly and is always available for recommendations. This was our first holiday in Yorkshire, and thanks to the cosy barn, Sue, and the vèry friendly people in Yorkshire, we will gladly come back. Our whole family, including both of our dogs, definitely and fully recommend this holiday home, thanjs for a great time, Sue!

First of all A big thank you to Sue, she is a great host, very helpful and friendly. The Fox Cottage was very cosy - very peaceful and relaxing with everything we needed, including a very nice welcome basket with home made brownies which we enjoyed when we arrived after a very long drive. The Fox Cottage is spacious, very well equipped and well situated not far from York and the North York Moors. The appliances in the house are modern and work very well. We found the beds comfortable, clean and well maintained. The cottage itself was very easy to access with a nice private accessible drive leading to it, off of the main road. The only minor downside was that the Wi-Fi did not reach all areas of the property, and there was no phone signal, but that was not a priority during our stay. Overall, it was a very pleasant experience with great service from the host. I would highly recommend it and would definitely stay again!

Just as wonderful as last visit

This is our second time staying with Sue. We have now stayed at both cottages and both are equally lovely. Very clean and tidy and a feeling of home away from home. Very easy to book and check in. Sue is a top notch host who is very friendly and willing to help us with any questions we had. Overall, our second stay was as delightful as our first stay 5 years ago. Thank you!

Lovely weekend staying in Fox Cottage. Sue was fantastic and everything in the cottage was clean and beautifully presented. The freshly baked brownies on arrival were a lovely touch too. Would definitely recommend.

Excellent 2 night stay

Lovely, clean cottage which was convenient for day trips to York and Scarborough. Sue provided essentials such as milk, butter, bread as well as yummy brownies, an unexpected treat! Kitchen had everything we could need. We had plenty of room for our family of five and easy access to nearby towns for groceries and restaurants. Would definitely stay again!
