Beautiful house
Beautiful holiday let which was exceptionally clean and very well stocked with all you could need. There was even a black out shade provided for our 3 yr old which was beyond expectations. Lovely garden, friendly, helpful owners and a great base for exploring Cornwall. The ev chartering port is a fantastic edition and makes for a completely stress free stay. Would definitely book again. Thank you Kate and Kevin!

Lovely stay
We had a lovely week at the old dairy. Travel cot, blackout blind, fire guard, highchair all provided to help with a toddler. Had the weather been nicer I’m sure we would have used the garden as well. My little girl loved going out in the opening and saying hello to the ducks. Cream tea in arrival was delicious Had a lovely week and would recommend to friends and family

A kid friendly gem in a fantastic location!!! Can't wait to visit again :)
We stayed at the Old Dairy after a recommendation from a friend, and we were not disappointed! Kate and Kevin were such lovely hosts, and made sure the accommodation had everything we needed for our mini holiday. The cottage is set within the grounds of their farm, with chickens, ducks and a pig nearby which provided no end of excitement for our toddler. Inside, the cottage is equipped with everything you'd need for a break with a toddler and/or baby, including stair gate, high chair, black out blind, travel cot, kid-friendly dishes/cutlery, and toys!! The bedrooms were lovely and quiet, so everyone was able to sleep well before our daytime adventures. We were within easy access to everything we'd hoped to visit during our stay, including Porthcurno Beach, Kynance Cove, St Michael's Mount, Falmouth and Porthleven. We will absolutely be staying at the Old Dairy again - somehow Kate and Kevin have truly taken the stress out of travelling with a toddler and a baby!

Family friendly stay, in lush house, quiet spot and great location for visiting Cornwall
We had a great week at the Old Dairy despite a mixed weather week. Family of 4 with 2 kids (9 & 7). They loved the open space of the surrounding gardens, the swings and feeding the chickens and Truffles the pig. The Old Dairy was great - has everything you need and like us a great washer/dryer if the weather does turn against you. The location is a peaceful little spot and good location for touring Cornwall. We loved the local harbour Porthleven, which had a great range of restaurants. Kate and Kevin were lovely and passed on lots of tips for places to go the rest of the week. Lovely thought to have cream tea waiting and lollies for the kids too. We would thoroughly recommend staying and wish Kate & Kevin well. The Newell Family

Well maintained property in easy reach of beautiful locations in the South West.
We had a fantastic week at the Old Dairy and thoroughly enjoyed our stay. The property was lovely with all the amenities needed to make our stay hassle free and very comfortable. The children really enjoyed the large field and play areas, plus visiting the chickens, ducks and pig. We also saw Pheasants and Rabbits on most days. We were situated within 20 minutes reach of many of attractive spots to visit such as, Porthleven, St Ives – take the coastal train from Lelant to see the views and visit the beach or Tate gallery, the jubilee pool at Penzance plus further afield to The Eden project. Kevin and Kate were very friendly and gave good advice if we had any questions. Thank you very much

Very comfortable and well-designed holiday let; friendly, helpful and unobtrusive hosts.
Lucky with the weather; enjoyed coastal walks, lovely spring flowers, the Levant mine and various gardens. Easy to get to both N and S coasts, once we had learnt to keep the Satnav under close surveillance and treat its routes with a pinch of salt.

Outstanding beautiful property with fantastic hosts
Booked this property for an Easter break with my husband and nine-year-old son. Extremely clean nice and warm with underfloor heating large family bathroom with shower and separate ensuite cosy and welcoming. On arrival was greeted by the host and showing around. We were also given home-made scones for a cream tea, a bottle of wine and an Easter egg for our son. I was also very pleased they had a Tassimo coffee machine. We did not make use of the outside area but there is plenty of space for children to run around, some swings and of course they can look at the chickens and ducks. This property is in a quiet rural location which we are used to and perfect for family evenings together. The owners have provided family board games and we had a couple of good games of Cornish monopoly. We had a great week and visited many places. We have been to Cornwall many times and it’s always a great experience despite the great British weather. Thank you to the wonderful owners and we would visit again

A great place to stay in the West of Cornwall.
Kate and Kevin gave us a warm welcome and a lovely cream tea that went down very well. The cottage was presented very clean with all the amenities that you could wish for. A warm cottage in a very quiet location and a great getaway and would definately return. The weather was dry and mild for the time of year and we especially enjoyed the Christmas lights at Mousehole and Angarrack.

Lovely country home from home.
We stayed here June 2/9 with our daughter & son in law and loved this beautifully appointed gîte. It is perfect for a family of 4 with young children but the second bedroom is slightly small for 2 adults. Apart from that we had a lovely week despite the challenging weather and would highly recommend the old dairy.

Fantastic family holiday at The Old Dairy
Our family has just spent a lovely Easter week at the Old Dairy. The accommodation was spotless and well equipped with easy to use appliances and age appropriate toys and games. There was also lots of outdoor space for children of all ages to run around in and adults to sit and relax. The Old Dairy is ideally located for lots of family days out, whatever the weather or budget. We visited the Eden Project, the National Maritime Museum at Falmouth and Geevor Tin Mine. We also walked up Godolphin hill and along a couple of the many beaches nearby. Kate and Kevin were perfect hosts and we were greeted with a bottle of wine, a cream tea and Easter eggs for the boys. We also took on board their recommendations and found lots of family friendly places to eat with high quality food. We would definitely recommend the Old Dairy to our friends and will be returning ourselves as soon as possible.

Comfortable, high quality accommodation
The property was very well equipped with good quality towels and bed linen, plenty of kitchen equipment and comfortable beds. Everything was spotlessly clean. We needed heating, being February and this was provided via underfloor heating and a woodburner stove. There was ample hot water at all times. The setting is peaceful and we enjoyed watching the ducks and chickens in the field. We found that although the area is rural, it never seemed to be far from the coast and the towns. Kevin and Kate were gracious and helpful hosts giving us guidance on where to go and what to see. Porthleven is a delightful port and harbour just 10 minutes away. We had very good meals at the Harbour View pub. We would definitely recommend the Old Dairy to friends and family.

Lovely place to stay, would highly recommend
We spent 5 nights at The Old Dairy over Christmas and really enjoyed our stay. The property lived up to our expectations and was perfect for our 5 year old son and 7 month old baby. The Old Dairy was beautifully decorated and had everything we would want or need for our family stay. The location is in a lovely quiet village but is in a great position for exploring Cornwall. Kate and Kevin were fantastic hosts and ensured we had everything we needed. They gave us a lovely welcome and we loved the cream tea and wine they left in the kitchen upon our arrival. We would definitely recommend staying here and we'd love to go back and explore Cornwall further with our boys.

Stunning rural retreat that never stops to amaze
A stunning well thoughout place to wash away the daily stresses and enjoy being surrounded by beautiful Cornish countryside with access to the stunning coastline and rugged Cornwall moorland. This is out second stay in the Old Dairy and again as soon as it ended we are thinking about our next trip there. Kate and Kevin are superb hosts and provide friendly welcomes and are always there to help to make your stay even easier. The accommodation has been completed to such a high standard it makes you feel privileged to be in it and surrounded by the animals, which our daughter loved. It brings together everything you could want within a family getaway. Looking forward to 2016

Superb family holiday at The Old Dairy!
Our week in Cornwall was absolutely fantastic and we couldn't of picked a better holiday cottage! The Old Dairy is not only in a perfect location for exploring this beautiful part of the country but it is extremely well equipped, clean and comfortable. It is fitted out and finished to a high standard, with a superb shower and bath and lovely 'The White Company' bed linen. We have a two year old and 4 month old baby, and the accommodation suited our requirements perfectly. A travel cot, bed guard, listening monitor, steriliser, black out blind, booster seat were all provided as well as toys and buckets and spades! Kevin and Kate were very welcoming and friendly and provided valuable advice on places to visit. We had fantastic weather, and managed to visit many towns, beaches and attractions, and were never short of things to do. We made some wonderful memories on what was our first family holiday as a family of four and I can't recommend this place highly enough!

Great family holiday in 10 acres of superb settings. Fantastic comfortable, clean luxurious accommodation which has been decorated anf fitted out to the highest standards. Kevin and Kate provided top class customer service that met our every requirement. The property description was spot on..... no play on words like some places we have been to before. No problem in recommending this property to anybody. Really first class. Side note: Porthleven is one of the prettiest places I have ever seen, and I have seen a lot!!

About the host

Hosted by Kate and Kevin Thomas

Host profile image
We moved to Cornwall as a family in October 2010 with the intention of setting up our own holiday letting business and to have our own Cornish escape from our previous lifestyle.

We are Kate and Kevin Thomas and have 3 young boys who love the freedom of the great outdoors.

Little Rosewarne is a smallholding of some 10 acres and in the past has had its own dairy herd. We started to convert the old cattle shed and creamery at the beginning of 2012 and wanted to maintain the character of the building while providing a sustainable future for the farm.

Why they chose this property

We bought Little Rosewarne after holidaying in the Porthleven area over the past 20 years. We know the area well and would spend most of our holiday time either in Porthleven or towards Falmouth.

When we made the decision to move to Cornwall we knew we wanted to be close to the things and areas we loved. However, we had never been to Godolphin Cross or for that matter Godolphin House. But when we saw Little Rosewarne, we fell in love with the place and felt with its proximity to the areas we enjoyed spending time in, it would make the ideal place for us to live and raise our family.

Little Rosewarne itself is a traditional Cornish farmhouse with extensive gardens. We wanted to buy a property where there was the potential for a blank canvas and for us to make our own mark. The first of which is The Old Dairy. It also means we are close at hand if we are needed.

The area is stunning because it is situated near to Godolphin House with easy access to the the beach and fantastic areas and places to explore.

What makes this property unique

We believe that 'The Old Dairy' and 'Hayloft' at Little Rosewarne is the perfect place to escape to, and explore this part of Cornwall. We hope that having spent many years staying in quality holiday accommodation we have worked out what works and what is sometimes missing and it is to this end we hope we can provide that little something extra. If you feel we have forgotten something or there is something we can do to improve your stay then please ask.
