About this property
Sunset Beach House, Porthleven, with panoramic sea views. Comfortably sleeps 10
Family-friendly and dog-friendly, fully renovated, modern and bright, five-bed (sleeps 10) detached house with private parking for two cars and terrace and enclosed garden. Featuring an open plan living space with modern kitchen and three new bathrooms.
The house is only a five-minute walk down into the centre of the beautiful village of Porthleven and has amazing 180 degree views over the sea, coastline and harbour. One of the few year-round, dog-friendly beaches in all of Cornwall is a four minute, 30 second walk (we timed it).
Entering the hallway on the ground floor, you’ll find a large coat and shoe rack for storing coats.
The ground floor comprises two beautiful new bathrooms, one with a large walk-in shower and the second with a bath with shower overhead (perfect for bathing the children after a long day at the beach), two stylish bedrooms with extremely comfortable king-size beds (one with views of the garden and the sea) and the “vibe” room (named by the children) with large sofa, beanbags, the 55inch TV and books and board games for winter evenings and rainy days.
This leads through to the utility room with washing machine, tumble dryer and space to hang your wetsuits and store your beach gear. Carry on through and you’ll find the access out to the terrace and enclosed garden.
On the lower ground floor (small flight of 6 stairs down) you will find 3 bedrooms all with views of the garden and out to the sea. The master bedroom features a super king-size bed, the other two rooms have two full-size twin beds each. Perfect for children or friends happy to share a room but not a bed! A small but perfectly formed shower room completes this floor.
All the bedrooms have 400 thread count Egyptian cotton bed linen and fluffy towels.
But I’ve left the best bit until last. From the ground floor hallway your eye is drawn up the small flight of stairs to the bright open plan living space with kitchen, dining and living areas with 5 huge picture windows that give a 180 degree view of the coastline, sea and around to the entrance to Porthleven harbour.
The house is set up for entertaining with a fully stocked kitchen including a double oven, induction hob, large dishwasher and large American-style fridge/freezer (with beer drawer) with filtered water and an ice maker and a Vertuo Nespresso coffee machine. With a large island and five bar stools, everyone can hang out and chat with those cooking in the kitchen.
The dining table, with amazing sunset views, seats 10 people and the desk/workspace area can be found here.
The large L-shaped sofa is perfect for collapsing into after a hard day at the beach or exploring the coastline and local vicinity. With 4 armchairs as well, there’s room for everyone to hang out and pick their favourite spot.
Outside there is a heated shower to wash the beach or mud from humans and dogs (available from April-Oct) and a private terrace space perfect for a quiet drink watching the sunset. By April there will be outdoor sofas, table and chairs all ready for a chilled afternoon/evening in.
The patio leads down to the enclosed grass garden (small dogs might be able to find a gap in the fence). There is also a large public open space immediately behind the property offering both wide open grass and a lovely kids play park.
Situated only 5-minutes walk from the bustling Porthleven harbour with a plethora of shops, cafe’s and restaurants to suit all tastes, you can just as easily escape to one of the many beautiful beaches along the Mounts Bay coastline or enjoy the amazing views walking the South West Coastal Path.
We look forward to welcoming you to Sunset Beach House!

About the host
Your host
We are a family who absolutely love Porthleven and spend as much time as we can here. We have completely renovated this house to our own high standards and rent it out to families throughout the year who appreciate the amazing location and one of the best villages in all of Cornwall.
Why they chose this property
Everyone who steps into the house is amazed by the views. The previous owner said he "had the best view in all of Porthleven" and it's tough to dispute that claim.
The fact that it's a comfortable 5-bed house that allows for two families or extended families to spend time together without feeling like everyone is on top of each other is perhaps the best part of the house.
That said, it's only a 4-minute walk to the beach making it very easy to pop down for a short time or run home to grab more supplies.

What makes this property unique
The location also benefits from the "Upper Park" directly behind the house that has a lovely little kids playpark in addition to a large open space. It means that the kids can be let out the back door and they're never more than 100m away.
Also, one of the best pubs in the area, the Atlantic, is only 30 seconds away.
