Location was convenient, beautiful wooded setting. Hot tub was one of the best functioning we’ve had at a rental property. House was spacious and had everything we needed.
House was nice, could have been a little cleaner, especially the vents in the bathroom. Host was very friendly, helpful, and prompt with responding to messages.
Excellent stay for my group's 7 Springs trip! Gorgeous setting inside and loved the kitchen and master bedroom setup! The hot tub made a wonderful touch and the host is friendly, timed manner on commication and clear set rules. Definitely would come back again!
The place was great, we loved the hot tub. Screens in the bedroom windows would have been nice so we could sleep with them open ave a knife sharpener would've come in handy. Overall a great place to stay.

Hi Deb,
I’m glad you enjoyed the house and I appreciate your constructive criticism. I will get a knife sharpener at the house, but I ask that Guests do not to leave the windows open during any time especially winter time. During your stay, it was quite cold out, so I’m not understanding why you would need to leave the windows hang open, but I clearly state can my rules not to do this or to let the doors hang open. By doing so, that would cost me a tremendous amount in energy in trying to keep the home hot, but cool air blowing in while you sleep??. I ask that any guest that I have not do this and not putting screens in the window keeps Guests from doing this; unbelievablelast winter I had one guest do this and they forgot to close the window after their stay. I did not get to the house until two days later to clean the house and the window was left wide open the entire time. This resulted in me getting a $900 electric bill. I am a teacher on a budget and my Airbnb‘s basically pay for themselves so I kindly ask all my guest to please conserve energy in anyway they can. Do not in any way. Let my windows or doors hang open during any time of the year. Thanks again for your business.
Communication with host was phenomenal, and she accommodated our request for a slightly earlier check in. WiFi was available at the house, although there is no cell service in the area. The house was well stocked with DVDs and some board games. The property was perfect for a quiet getaway. The furnishings were a little more rustic than I was expecting and the house felt dark and dated. Minor things that would have made the stay a little nicer— the patio furniture is ready for replacement, the shower heads need descaled or replaced, the hot tub needs fresh water and continuous filtering, soap in the bathroom soap dispensers, higher quality silverware…. All minor, but it added up.The tap water had a very high mineral/metal content and sulfur smell. We ended up going to town to buy bottled water. Overall we did not have a bad experience, but a little more attention to detail would have made a huge impact.
We enjoyed our stay, but the water in the hot tub was green and had a terrible smell. It seemed unsanitary. The hot tub was the main reason we booked the home, so it was a bit disappointing. Also, there wasn't enough hot water to fill the jacuzzi tub and when running the water in the tub, there was sand in the water. Otherwise, the house was nice and clean.

Hi Kasey,
I wish you would have messaged to let me know your concern. I just put fresh water in my hot tub which the water I put in is very high in iron. When mixing the chlorine with the water that has high levels of iron in it, it oxidizes and turns a green hue. You indicated that the hot tub had an awful smell, and when I first put fresh water in it, it does do this because of it being well water and having some sulfur in it. Leaving the lid off for a little bit, you would see the smell would dissipate. It does take a day or two when freshwater has been put in for the smell to subside with the chlorine. In regards to the Jacuzzi tub, there is not sand in the water, but minerals do occasionally come out because it is again well Water. I do mention this all in my property description. I also mentioned that the well Water and possibly staying closed if you choose to wash your clothes in my washer. This is posted on the wall. Again, I wish you would’ve messaged me and it could’ve been explained. I’m sorry your experience was not what you wished it to be. I do hope you have a good evening.

The house and property was absolutely gorgeous!! Very peaceful and relaxing. It had every amenity you could think of. Brandy (our host) went above and beyond for us. T mmhere was a Winter storm coming during our stay, she let us check in a little early to get ahead of it. Then later that night drove on the bad roads to provide us a snow shovel so we could get a clear path to the hot tub, which was also amazing!! We'll definitely be renting this property again!!
The house was great. Clean and comfortable. I had a minor question, and our host Brandi went out of her way to help me make sure we had the best experience. I will be going back to The Mountain House!Darrell
The house is spacious and remote just like we wanted. The host was very attentive and lovely to work with. The only things that could be noted are that propane is not provided for the grill and because of the well water there can be a slight odor when using it.

We had an amazing week here on vacation! Visited Fallingwaters, the falls, natural water slide, and river. We spent most of our time relaxing at the house and in the hot tub. The Yough house is tucked away in nature in the most peaceful place. And Brandy, the owner, is awesome. We would definitely stay here again and plan to in the near future. Thank you!
We had a great stay here for a long weekend. Brandy was very responsive in helping us troubleshoot the hot tub. The house was clean and fit all six of us very comfortably. Definitely recommend staying here!
We enjoyed our stay in this nice well-appointed home near the Great Allegany Passage trail just outside of Confluence PA. The owner was very communicative and helpful. However, we felt the home was a little dated and in need of better maintained kitchen appliances and cookware.
Area is beautiful and peaceful. Exactly what we needed. Not complaining but had to go buy 8 lightbulbs because quite a few were dead throughout the home and it was quite dim in all rooms. We also bought a broom and dust pan so we could sweep up before leaving. No cleaning utensils avaliable. That being said a lot of other things were avaliable and equipped. Overall very relaxing and good getaway. Would return and want to in warmer months. 9/10

About the host
Hosted by Brandy I. Freese
My name is Brandy I. Freese. I grew up in the Confluence area my entire life. I am a full-time special education teacher and live approximately two miles away from the house.
Why they chose this property
I first purchased this property from my grandfather in 2006. I wanted to buy this land because it was the place that I lived with my parents when I was first born. Built in 2009, I lived in the home for 8 years, until I moved and changed it to the Yough Mountain House of May 2017.
What makes this property unique
Only 2 miles from the town of Confluence and 9 miles from the town of Ohiopyle, Yough Mountain House has all the ammenties one would want/need from home. With an ample amount of outdoor space, Yough Mountain house is the perfect place for small or large group gatherings.
What made me fall in Love with my home was the beautiful views and the peaceful setting.
