Wonderful house, garden and location

We stayed here for my 50th birthday and it was amazing. Beautiful house, plenty of room, great location, lovely big garden and all the amenities you need. Would definitely recommend. Good value for money.

A very well appointed house in an excellent location

We stayed at Orrest Head House as two families for a week in summer. From initially booking through to the end of our stay, the experience was of the highest quality. It's a lovely house in a great location, convenient for both drivers and public transport users. Close enough to the Lake and other activities to be convenient while offering a significant private space to spread out and enjoy. The morning walk up Orrest Head is very special!

We had a great stay as a family celebrating a big birthday, plenty of room, well equipped thought of everything and a lovely touch with named dog bowls. We would definitely stay again and would recommend. Thanks for a lovely stay.

Orrest Head House

We had a wonderful stay at Orrest Head House. The house is amazing and we were very privileged to be the first to stay in ‘The Loft’. This bedroom is a great addition to the house. It’s a super location for exploring the Lakes, and we can’t wait to return!

Big house ideal for hens and stags

Great big house. Many many notices about what to do with rubbish, linen and so on. I felt like an employee. Beware the door of the snug - it suddenly gives way and slams the toddlers fingers in it. All the talk of being dog friendly is misplaced as there is nowhere enclosed. You can shut the gates but the people in the cottage behind will likely leave them open - and the road is super busy. So apart from a child with a broken hand and a run over dog it’s fine! Expensive for what it is x

My birthday weekend with family

Stayed at orrest head house previously and was really happy to book a return visit. The house is amazing and the location is almost perfect. We felt relaxed and at ease throughout our stay and are looking forward to booking again later in the year.

A fantastic place to stay

We had a wonderful weekend at Orrest Head House and Cottage. The properties were really well appointed, clean, comfortable and the management was excellent. We were well informed about what to expect which enabled us to plan an easy stay. There was plenty of space inside and outside and the location was perfect. None of our guests had a bad word to say.

Great stay at Orrest Head

We had a great time at Orrest Head, the house is beautiful with plenty of room for big families. The bedrooms were spacious and comfy, and the kitchen was equipped with everything you need for catering for large group size. The location was fantastic, we loved walking up Orrest Head with the dogs, Windermere was just a 5 minute walk away, and can walk, jump on a bus, or take the car to explore elsewhere too. The hosts are great, clear information and available to answer queries too- thank you, we had a great stay.

Lovely family stay in a lovely house.

Second stay here. Beautiful house and location. All facilities provided, well equipped house. A few minor issues with repairs but owner responsive and friendly. The house has builders atm and they kept leaving the gate open to a busy road. Beds a little firm for our family. Other than that an excellent experience, one we hope to repeat.

The property was in a superb location ,with Booths supermarket & pubs 5. minutes away.The property was exceptionally well maintained and was ideal for a family retirement .Would highly recommend this property & we will be back again next year.

Fab stay at this historical house

Wonderful stay at Orrest Head House. The house is spacious enough and well equipped for a large group, and in a perfect location for exploring the lake district. Would recommend this lovely house to anyone visiting the lake district and can't wait to go back.

An excellent place for family and friends gatherings

Excellent facilities, house well equipped, comfortable, and plenty of space within the house. Shops, cafes pubs and restaurants close by. Close to bus station to travel throughout the Lakes without using the car.

Excellent stay - highly recommend

We stayed here as three families. The house was absolutely perfect for us! So much space and such a well stocked house - had everything we needed! The grounds were also very beautiful. We will certainly be going back!

Stunning property with lots of space inside and out. Very close walk to Windermere (watch the busy road). Perfect for reunion catch ups (such as ours), multi party groups or just you.

Lovely family stay

Perfect location for visiting the lake district. The house had everything you need and was very comfortable. All the family loved it. Great touch having a little bar room. Rooms were really nice and spacious. Beds were comfortable. Would definitely stay again

25th Wedding anniversary

We really loved this house. Very good size rooms and lovely ensuite showers. Had some great evenings in the bar. Great location. Would not hesitate to recommend this house to anyone.

A beautiful house for a special gathering. Plenty of room inside and out. We'll equipped throughout. Only a short walk into the town or take the bus from the raikway station which is only 5 minutes away.

Superb

A lovely house in an area with beautiful scenery and lots to do. We had a great stay despite the poor weather. We have been coming away in January, as a group of 8, for many years and this is the best house we have stayed in!

Great holiday home

We had a fantastic week at Orrest Head to welcome in the New Year. The house has a really comfortable and welcoming ambiance. The in house pub was a great hit with all of us. Lovely power showers too. Would love to return in the summer at some point.
