Family holiday in Devon

We had a fabulous week staying at Coulscott Holiday Cottages in the Georgian House. Stunning views from our garden and easy access to local beaches and Combe Martin. The facilities in the house and on site were perfect for grandparents, parents, a 3 year old, 2 babies and 2 dogs! Lots of toddler and baby equipment in the house and playing areas/pool. Alice was quick in responding to any queries and all the staff we met were so helpful and friendly, suggesting things to do in the local area and coming to find us to help feed the animals. We loved our time here - thank you!

Great place for the little ones...

Three families shared two properties at Coulscott (Georgian & Bantam) and a great time was had by all - especially the under fives, for whom the play areas, swimming pool and interaction with the farm animals were the highlights.

Perfect stay

Perfectly located and perfectly presented. We loved our stay and would recommend this to any families looking for a stress free holiday. The house was spotless with everything you need for a family holiday. The children loved the play park, swimming pool and the animals. Overall our family holiday was nothing short of perfect. We would highly recommend this, you will not be disappointed. Thank you Alice.

Perfect holiday

Excellent location with an array of fine facilities which our four year old granddaughter particularly loved. We were blessed with fine weather during our stay and Alice made us very welcome. The only query we had on comfort was that the rear double bedroom mattress was uncomfortable. We would definitely consider returning as Coulscott offered so much across the age ranges.

Family 70th Birthday weekend.

A superb location, wonderful views. The swimming pool, hot tub and games room were a huge success and loved by adults and children alike. Excellent outdoor furniture and BBQ. The gardens were immaculate. Unfortunately we misunderstood Alice when she talked about the heating not working if a window was open - we though it applied to the door from the games room and the kitchen and not an upstairs back bedroom. As a result the living room and dining room were cold and not as comfortable as we would have liked. All information about the house is provided digitally which suits some people but I feel that the important basic information should be provided as hard copy. Without a younger generation we would not have been able to access QR codes! Although there were 3 bathrooms (2 ensuite) the showers were rather poor, apparently due to water pressure. However, for a property of this calibre and price, this should be improved. Overall a fun weekend for all.

Great family break despite UK early April weather

Alice and Luke are excellent "hands on" hosts and ensure everything is perfect. We were 6 adults and 4 children ( 3 months up to 5 years old ). Superb house with lots of room and lovely high ceilings. Lovely lounge and dining room, plus a great snug where kids can watch TV. Big bedrooms with excellent beds. Bathrooms clean with good showers, etc. Great kitchen that was fully equipped. Large games room useful for storing wet clothes. The kids a bit small to benefit from the table tennis table and the table football table....will come back when they are a bit bigger. We used the indoor pool and indoor play area a lot...weather prevented much use of the nice outdoor play area with trampoline, etc. Having our own hot tub was a treat at the end of the day. Feeding the animals ( alpacas, goats, sheep, pigs, ducks, geese, rabbis and guinea pigs ) every day was a huge hit with the kids. Alice helped ease the kids into the routine so they lost any fear or inhibitions. Animals all very friendly. Combe Martin village and beach is walkable but a bit of a trek back up the hill. Great beaches ( like Woolacombe ) and pretty towns ( Lynton, Lynmouth, etc.) nearby, plus some excellent walks like the Heddon valley. The kids loved the train ride at Woody Bay. Further afield, Highly recommended accommodation, we will be back in a couple of years..

An excellent choice for a multi-genration stay

We stayed for a week with our two daughters, their partners and 4 of our grandchildren. The house is spacious and well furnished, allowing everyone to find their own space throughout the week. Everyone came together for meals around the large farmhouse style table in the kitchen and we used the dining once for a formal meal. The house is well equipped. There are good leisure facilities on site both outdoor and indoor, including swimming pool, games room, soft play and playground. The house itself had its own games room and an extensive range of board games. It's worth checking with Alice on the hot water and heating settings to make sure they fit in with your lifestyle. Alice was very responsive to any queries sent via Whatsapp. This is a good base to explore the surounding area without needing to go far and you can then come back to enjoy the facilities. We all thoroughly enjoyed our stay.

Lovely stay for a family reunion

We were looking for somewhere special for a family reunion. Great venue for everyone from grandparents to kids, whether it’s seeing the animals, splashing in the pool or winding down with a film in the snug. The hot tub was also a high point with the beautiful views at sunset. The place was also a great jumping off point for exploring the local area. The hosts were helpful and welcoming, and easy to contact if needed. Highly recommended for a special holiday and making great memories.
