This place is a perfect retreat from the bustle of the city. We loved the views of the farmland all around us through those gorgeous two-story windows. Every morning we enjoyed exercising on the deck, and I loved sitting with my sketchbook on the porch. We walked to town every day, and the trails through Russ Park are incredible. Hiking right outside our door! Thank you so much for a memorable vacation.

We’re so glad you had a relaxing time! That’s the main idea for coming to Ferndale! Thank you for the nice review.

Beautiful property with unique, thoughtful art and character. Spectacular setting, especially drinking coffee in the living room watching a misty morning sunrise. Very convenient and close to Ferndale Main St & ten minutes from the beach. We rented both the larger property and the Library across the drive & it was a lovely family get together.

Liked: Cleanliness, amenities, property conditions & facilities, communication
We always enjoy our stay in the Library Suite, to which we have returned at least a half-dozen times. Sharon and Sylvia are great hosts, and Ferndale is a lovely town conveniently located to the coast, redwoods, and parks. We love the agricultural atmosphere of this friendly community.
This was a great property, nice and clean! Located about a minutes drive from downtown Ferndale and all its cute shops and beautiful old buildings. Communication with the host was easy and very clear. The library was impressive, time didn’t allow for reading on our trip, but would be nice for a book lover who had lots of time.
Our family really enjoyed our stay here. They had several games and beach toys for our kids, and the unit was clean. Communication with the owner was great!
It was the best to wake up to all the deer and turkeys in the yard. Also there was a really pretty little hiking trail right across the street. It was such a quiet and amazing little spot
This property is a peaceful retreat away from the hustle and bustle. We loved being immersed in nature with deer roaming the property, wild turkeys passing by, and roosters crowing in the morning fog. Just across the street is the Ferndale View Trail, with gorgeous plants and tree coverage, perfect for a quiet walk. The surrounding area has a quaint old-town feel with cute cafés like Buttercup Coffee, and the location is ideal for easy day trips to Trinidad, Eureka and Humboldt Redwoods State Park. Host was responsive by phone, and the place was clean and exactly as described. A wonderful stay!

We were looking for a peaceful getaway and we found it a the Library Suite in Ferndale! Such a unique setting and cozy inside space ... including a most interesting library!
Loved our stay! Perfect location with countryside views. Great natural light, perfect for reading, and no shortage of books! We especially loved our early morning hikes in Russ Park, right across the street, and being able to walk into town for a bite to eat. It’s my second time staying here and I know we’ll be back again. Highly recommend it!

Loved our stay. The Library is so cozy and comfortable. We did a lot of exploring of the surrounding area while we were there and it was so nice to come back to this little retreat to relax after a long day. It’s also just a short pleasant walk into town and we loved walking around the cemetery and seeing the view of Ferndale from up on the hill.

Thank you for coming!

We come here about twice a year for a week enjoying the redwoods, the rural ambiance, and the historic town center. A trip to Headwaters Forest, one or two trips to the Humboldt National Wildlife Refuge, out the Petrolia Road, out to the beach, shopping in Old Town Eureka, a visit to the Arcata Farmers Market--what's not to love? Sharon and Sylvia are thoughtful hosts and this is truly a unique property.
Great little place, but feels bigger then it is with very high ceilings and lots of natural light!
We really enjoyed the Library House. Cozy, homey, and great location within easy walk to downtown and Russ Park. It was very clean, quiet, and had everything we needed. Loved all the books!

This was our second time staying here. It is a very peaceful area and beautiful setting in the country; a nice respite from the city, and appreciated after a long drive. The room was perfect and we enjoyed looking at some of the 3,000 books in The Library!
Wonderful property in immaculate condition. Short walk to local shops and restaurants. A really welcome break from the city and "run of the mill" hotel experience.
We will miss the cat !

The cat is an added bonus for us all (He keeps the mice out of the old barn!).

We loved our stay in the library! Browsing the wide variety of books was quite fun. We love being a little bit out of town and walking in to the sweet town of Ferndale. Our second stay at this property, but first at the library. Our go to place now when coming to Ferndale.
