About this property
3 Bedroom, 2 Bath, Porch, FREE Wi-Fi, Washer/Dryer
The Ohio University Convocation Center is hiking distance, as is the University and downtown Athens. FREE WIFI and FREE parking for up to 4 cars. McDonalds, and other fast food is very close by, as is a hardware store. The house is on the Athens transit route and we have Uber and Lyft. The house is a historic Sears kit house built in 1939 and recently extensively remodeled. We have a full kitchen and a washer and dryer for for your use only. This house has been extensively re-modeled early 2017 with all new wiring, heating/cooling, new kitchen, new appliances, new bathrooms and new furniture and new mattresses. ALL new! Also, we have free wireless, cable and 4 flat screen tv's. There are some games and books in the living room. If you start a book and like it, feel free to take it. The entire house is is yours except for the basement which is reserved for heat/air and utilities management. Check out our front porch! My cell is (PHONE NUMBER HIDDEN) Mitch, please text if there is a minor problem or call if there is an emergency. I can address it personally or have an employee help. I own the local furniture store (Sofa and Mattress Outlet, 606 E. State Street, close to Wal Mart) visit the store if you can! My son also works for me and he is very handy and happy to help! A firehouse is several doors down for your protection. Self serve car wash next door. Local family owned food market and hardware store is half a block away. On easy bus route for transportation or call a locally owned cab. Great location! We own the car wash so you can park next to the house on either side and not risk being towed. Several small cab companies will wisk you to your destination cheaply and the house is located on the transit bus route. Walking is possible but uptown is a hike. I used to hike it when I went to college here but it may not be for you. Close to Ohio University and inside the city limits of Athens, Ohio. We are 1 of only 4 legal short term rental houses in Athens. Our fully legal status means that we are safety inspected by the city of Athens Code Office. They check location and viability of fire and carbon monoxide detectors, GFI wiring in bathrooms and kitchen, fire extinguishers and they look for any code violations. We pass these requirements. All of our equipment is brand new.
Our prices include all fees. No hidden fees.

About the host
Hosted by Mitch and Ann Endick

Your hosts, Ann and Mitch are both Ohio University graduates. They met in Athens at school, married and raised 3 kids here and have 4 grand children here. Ann is a retired special education teacher and Mitch runs several local businesses. Athens Furniture, across from the city pool on East State Street and Athens Storage, a large local mini storage business are two of them. They also have 7 short term rentals, Richland avenue being one of them. Ann and Mitch give back to the community by rescuing historic houses that are down on their luck and completely re-modeling them. This might include a new roof, foundation, plumbing, wiring, heating/air, you name it. The Richland house is a historic Sears kit house that was brought in by train and constructed around 1920. Once a run down student rental, the house now shines. Along with new furniture and super comfy mattresses, it is a 5 star find that people love, just read the reviews!
