Thank you Adam and friends for the 5 Star Review of "Editorial & Short Story" in The Picayune Building and of our VacayNOLA Team.
We cannot express what a perfect location this condo is. Everything is so walkable; Riverfront, French Quarter, Morial Convention Center, and especially the SuperDome & Smoothie King Center Arena, as well as countless music venues for concerts, musicals comedy shows or theatrical shows and plays.
And foods? Never to far from any of these attractions will you find some of our scrumptious restaurants; from iconic, aged, reservations required or a Mom & Pop joint, to a hole in the wall place with some of the best foods around. Part of the fun in exploring New Orleans is finding those places.

This unit was far more spacious than expected and had everything we needed. We had an amazing time. The location is perfect- centrally located and so close to great restaurants and entertainment. Barbara was incredibly responsive and helpful- not that we really needed anything. And the grocery concierge service was a huge timesaver. Made my life so much easier. We will definitely stay here again in the future.

Thank you Nancy and family for the 5 Star Review. It takes a bit of stamina to be here during Mardi Gras Week, so glad you made it! Yes, the location of The Picayune Building is phenomenal for 90% of the parades, because you can walk to them on 3 sides of the building, so easily, and a short walk back to grab drink refills, a snack, jacket or use your own clean restroom, because as the song goes" Ain't no place to pee on Mardi Gras Day"!
So many of our guests don't think they will need groceries while here, but it can be expensive to eat out every meal here and it's always a good idea to have some snacks, munchies, fruit and any beverages you may want, already in the condo, fridge or not, cold and ready for you to start hydrating, in case you plan on imbibing drinking your stay.
We are truly blessed to have Barbara and Candace as part of the VacayNOLA Team. They both care about every guest we host.
Contact them next time you are headed in to VacayNOLA!
Great location and a lovely condo: spacious, clean, and comfortable! The host was also wonderful and did her best to make sure that we enjoyed our stay in the unit as well as in the city. Thanks!

Thank you Stacey and family for the 5 Star Review. Hated it that your flights were cancelled when you needed to leave early, but happy you could stay in this three bedroom / 3 bath, two story condo that you felt was clean, comfortable and spacious for your family.
We beam with pride that Barbara and the VacayNOLA team did what they could to offer you suggestions of things to do, go, see and eat, as well as tips and tricks about navigating around the city , grocery delivery, and insight about Armstrong Airport ( MSY ).

Thank you Michelle and family for the 5 Star Review of Editorial & Short Story, the themed two story, 3 bedroom / 3 bath condo in the Central Business District of downtown New Orleans, where each condo has framed newspaper articles from the Daily Picayune and Times-Picayune Newspapers that was originally operated out of this building from the 1850's until 1969.
So glad to know that our VacayNOLA Team was there for you when an issue arose. With a building that is almost 175 years old, things can happen and heavy downpours of wind driven rain do happen here from time to time.
Overall we are elated you had a great experience with "us" and the excitement of being in New Orleans for a Saint's "DOME" game but the only thing that can top our football excitement is the annual Krewe of Boo! Halloween parade, just 2 blocks from this condo! We cannot express enough what a perfect location this building is for all the activities, adventures, events sports, concerts and our over the top parades, Halloween, Mardi Gras and others that we have.

We cannot express enough what a great location the condo is to all there is to go, do, see and eat while in New Orleans and having only a few days to do all of your adventures in.
I know our detailed orientated housekeeping krewes really appreciate your mention of how hard they work to keep this 175 year old building shine.
Sounds like Barbara gave you the locals' perspective on tips, suggestions and information overload so you can make the most of your time here in our beloved city.

Thank you for the kind words. We would love to have your group back, or your individual families come for a getaway and several of our year round activities, events and festivals. We wanted you to know the water department was working on surrounding street underground water lines, causing the low water pressure. Although we still had low water pressure, after the street work was completed, with no further explanation from the water department, the building owner has taken on the expense of purchase and installation of domestic water pumps to the building. All condos have more water pressure throughout the entire building. Including the fourth floor and loft bathrooms above.
The space was great and a perfect location. Close enough to walk but far enough from the noise. It was perfect for three couples.

Response from VrboOwner on 12 Jul 2023
Thank you Roxanne and friends for the 5 Star Review. To pat ourselves on the back, this IS the perfect place to stay in downtown New Orleans. We are walkable to all attractions; WWII Museum, Louisiana's Superdome, Smoothie King Center Arena, Morial Convention Center, Harrah's Casino, Riverwalk, and of course all the Vieux Carré has to offer. You are right, close enough to experience it all but far away from the all night chaos to get a good night's rest and sleep.
It is rare to get such a large, three bedroom / 3 bath, two story condo, almost 1800 sq ft, in the Central Business District of New Orleans with all the original 1880's built charm of original exposed brick walls, floor to ceiling windows yet all the modern conveniences of granite counter tops, stainless appliances and an elevator within the building.
When you are ready to come back and get another helping of our scrumptious food, contact us before making your future reservations to get the most current discount promo code.

Stayed 3 nights in Jul 2022
Response from VrboOwner on 12 Jul 2023
Thank you Johnny for your 5 Star Review. It was our pleasure to host your family's traveling party for the Birthday Celebration of the 21 year old. New Orleans IS the place to celebrate! Would love to hear more about all your adventures, how your Sazerac House Distillery tour went, did he win big at Harrah's and were you able to get a cake or cupcakes from Bittersweet bakery?
You don't have to wait for the younger children to be turning 21 to make another visit back, ya know.....
We are thrilled we not only met but exceeded your expectations of the accommodations, and will let housekeeping know you appreciated all the hard work they do in in that 4 hour time between guests.
As for the location, we just cannot express that it is the perfect location for downtown New Orleans; close enough to walk to the French Quarter, but out of the chaos and noise at night, walkable to WWII Museum and restaurants galore! But then again, being the original home to the "Times - Picayune Newspaper" in the 1880's the newspaper building IS going to have the best location to be able to get all the news scoops from all of the City center and surrounding neighborhoods when going to print.
Give us a call before making your next reservation, we give discounts to returning guests, to get the current promo code.
VacayNOLA!
We had such a great time staying at this condo! There were six of us and it was the perfect amount of space. Bed are very comfortable and the whole place was very clean. Great location walkable to so many bars and restaurants. Would stay here again!

Thank you Melanie and the rest of your "krewe" for staying in The Picayune Building and VacayNOLA for your "Girls Trip" in New Orleans. We love hosting these kinds of stays. So glad y'all had lots of fun. Getting a good night's rest means a lot while here. Gotta be rested up to get back out there and do it all over again the next night and the next!
The 5 Star review really goes out to our fantastic housekeeping teams that work so hard to get this three bedroom / 3 bath, two story spacious condo clean and ready in the 4 hour time limit between guests.
When you think about the original use of the 1880's built building, the "Times - Picayune Newspaper" it had to be in the perfect location to get all of the news of the city and surrounding neighborhoods, fast and in walking distance.
If you decide to make this your Annual Girls Trip destination, give us a call to get the most current Return Guest Discount Promo Code before you make that next reservation.

Response from VrboOwner on 6 May 2025
Thank you Chris, family and friends for another wonderful year at The Picayune Building, and JazzFest 2025. Isn't it amazing that this old building, is in such great shape, for being almost 175 years? When you understands it was the newspaper building, both print and journalism together, the location makes perfect sense, had to be close to all the areas of the city to get the breaking news of the 1850's through 1969, and get those stories type set for print to go out in the afternoon or next morning edition.
It was a lot of fun to work with the condo owners and interior designers to come up with the themes, using some of the actual newspapers we found.
Thank you for the shout out of our VacayNOLA Team for the attention to details, an easy check in and check out, tips, suggestions and tricks about being in New Orleans, with some of our do's and don'ts.
When planning your 2026 JazzFest plans, make sure you contact us before making your reservations to get the Return Guest Discount promo code, so you can again, VacayNOLA!

Truly in the center of bustling downtown New Orleans, yet a quiet and secure place to get away from the noise and relax for the night, as a quiet family gathering or hosting friends and family during your visit.
Our Housekeeping Staff are very proud of the effort they put out there for all to see, that they do care about their work, and as you stated, very very clean. We will be sure to pass that along to them.
