Cabin Name: River Escape
"River Escape" is a beautiful two bedroom, two bathroom cabin located on Little River in Townsend, TN. Known as "The Peaceful Side of the Smokies," Townsend sits next to the national park and is only minutes away from Cades Cove, Gatlinburg and Pigeon Forge.
River Escape offer an extra large hot tub, river view, free wifi, YouTube TV, fully equipped kitchen and a wood burning fireplace.
This cabin is located on an easily accessible, quiet street and sits right next to Little River giving you waterfront property that is 2nd to none. Right from the cabin, you can fish, swim or go tubing.
There are so many things to do in Townsend and the national park including hiking, tubing, biking, fishing, browsing the various shops, visiting Cades Cove, picnicking, swimming, visiting the Great Smoky Mountain Heritage Center and attending the various festivals/shows. After a busy day of sightseeing, you'll love returning to the warmth and comfort of "River Escape" and relaxing on the back porch or soaking in the large tub overlooking Little River.

Fireplaces: *On During: October 1st - April 1st
Common Concerns: *Road Conditions: Some of our cabins are on steep, narrow, curvy, mountain roads. If you are concerned about road conditions to get to a cabin, please feel free to ask us! None of our cabins requires a 4-wheel drive under normal weather conditions, but some do in inclement weather. *TV & WiFi: We do have TVs and WiFi in most of our cabins. There are times when heavy cloud cover, weather systems, mountains, or trees will cause problems with the signals. We always want our guests to have the comforts they want on vacation, but there are times we cannot control this problem. *Pests & Wildlife: Here in the Smoky Mountains, we have lots of native bugs and wildlife. All of our cabins are treated for pests, but there are times you will find bugs or even have trouble with bugs. Fall/Winter is ladybug season in the Smokies, and these little buggers are attracted to heat, meaning your cabin and every other one out there that is warm! They will swarm to the cabin, and you'll probably see them alive/dead on windowsills, in vents, etc. Rest assured that your cabin has regular pest control and is professionally cleaned, including bug removal, before and after your stay. However, these bugs come back right away, and unfortunately, there is nothing that can be done about them until the season passes. Please never feed, taunt, or approach any wildlife. This is their home, and we are the visitors. *There are no refunds for storms or power outages. If there is a power outage, there will be no water and potentially no heat. Storms can also make roads impassable, so if a storm is in the forecast during your reservation, come prepared with water and non-perishable food, etc.
FEES: The management company of this cabin charges a $20 per stay Damage Waiver Fee to every customer. It is automatically included in your rate. This covers our guests for up to $350 worth of accidental damage should damage occur during their stay. If damage occurs to the cabin, furnishings, etc, please report it to management as soon as possible so that the damage can be repaired. You may opt out of paying the $20 damage waiver fee by putting down a $350 REFUNDABLE damage deposit.
✨ Peace of Mind & Travel Insurance: I want your stay to be stress-free and enjoyable. Please note that this home has a strict cancellation policy. Because life can be unpredictable, we encourage all guests to purchase travel insurance for extra peace of mind. This way, you can book with confidence knowing you’re protected no matter what comes up. This can be done at www.insuremytrip.com where you can pick the coverage that suits your situation.

We had a fantastic stay. The cabin was very clean and the view was amazing. My only complaint would be that it needs to be cleaned up around the river entry. There was a lot of broken concrete and overgrown weeds. I think it just needs a little weed-eating. But our stay was absolutely amazing.

Hi Lisa,
Thank you so much for the wonderful 10/10 review! We are thrilled to hear that you had an absolutely amazing stay and that you found the cabin very clean and enjoyed the amazing views. We love providing a fantastic getaway for our guests.
Thank you also for the helpful feedback regarding the river entry. We appreciate you bringing the weeds and broken concrete to our attention. Maintaining easy and safe access to the water is very important to us, so we are getting our maintenance team out there right away to clean that area up and do some weed-eating.
We would love to host you again the next time you need a peaceful river retreat!
This was a wonderful place to stay on the Little River.

Thank you for your wonderful review, Patty! We are so glad you enjoyed your relaxing vacation and taking in the sights and sounds of nature from the deck. We look forward to seeing you again soon!
We are glad our cabin met the description so well! River Escape is a great place to spend a holiday with your family or friends, especially a summer holiday near the river!
Very clean and relaxing! Loved being away from the hustle and bustle of Gatlinburg and Pigeon Forge but close enough to make the trip to them. Had an amazing time!
This cabin offered an amazing cabin getaway for me and my sister for my birthday! Not only was the place extremely clean but the pictures did the place no justice! It was absolutely beautiful. The view was incredible and the cabin was filled with everything you need for a great stay! I would recommend this cabin to anyone and would love to stay again!
Unknowingly I picked the PERFECT place. The location was fantastic; close to town, but also secluded enough to enjoy the sounds of the river. The best part was that it was on the running route of the Vacation Races Smoky Mountains 1/2 Marathon, so those that weren't running could cheer on the runners from the comfort of the front porch.
We enjoyed our stay at the cabin. We loved sitting by the river and relaxing. Our only complaint is that the bed in the downstairs bedroom was not comfortable. We ended up sleeping upstairs.

We will have to look into that mattress. We are thrilled that you were able to enjoy the peacefulness of the river out in the back of the cabin. It's so nice to spend quiet evenings out there, or play in the water during the day!
We had a wonderful time. The cabin was as described. Upstairs bedroom and bathroom would be perfect for kids but the adults made it work. Deck overlooking the river was wonderful. Living room setting was adequate but would have been perfect with recliners instead of couch.

Thank you for your review! We’re thrilled to hear that you had a wonderful time and that the cabin lived up to your expectations. It’s great that you enjoyed the deck overlooking the river. We appreciate your feedback on the living room furniture and will consider your suggestion for future improvements. We hope to have the pleasure of hosting you again soon!
The cabin was very clean and nice. The decor was so cute. Everything was comfortable (but couch may need to be replaced soon). Kitchen was well-stocked--we had everything we needed. LOVED the covered deck out back, and the hot tub. Soothing river sounds were delightful. Close to downtown Townsend, which has and IGA and some quaint restaurants with good food. We had a couple of small issues, which were taken care of immediately. We would definitely stay here again.

River escape too close to highway
Cabin was nice but we had no idea that the highway was so close to the cabin and river. This is the problem you have when you get the address a few days before your reservation. Road noise took away the relaxation of the river. The location was convenient but do book if you want isolation and soothing river relaxation. Over all cleanliness was OK. The cabin floors needed a very good mopping. I would not book this site again.

Thank you for your review, Carla. We appreciate your feedback and are sorry to hear that the highway noise took away from the relaxation of the river. We are glad that you found the location to be convenient and that the cabin was overall clean. We will take your feedback into consideration and make sure that the cabin floors are thoroughly mopped for future guests.
A nice property in a great location. We really enjoyed our stay and would recommend this property to others. Since the river is at your back door, this is a good place to do some tubing or fishing. We enjoyed building a fire in the fireplace and hanging out in the hot tub. The kitchen was great for cooking and the table was just right to play some cards. We ate at the Trailhead Steak and Trout House. Good steaks! We also had breakfast at the Apple Valley Cafe. Wonderful apple fried pies and a delicious egg, ham, and cheese croissant. My wife had the breakfast bowl and it was outstanding.
