The location of the property was so convenient to shopping and great local restaurants! House was well appointed and as described. Very comfortable to hang out and sip coffee in the mornings or sit up with wine and gossip at night. We would definitely choose the Parsonage for another girls trip!
Beautiful, clean home! Absolutely wonderful property in great location within walking distance to shopping, restaurants, eateries and even the beach! Had such a memorable time and Katie and Joe couldnt have been more helpful. Highly recommend this property for your stay in Michigan City!
I cannot give 10 stars or I would. Katie was a dream...flexible, communicative and beyond friendly. We stayed with family to be close to our daughter's wedding venue, Friendship Botanic Gardens. If I had more time at the moment I would write more, all praise for the wonderful experience. The house is beautiful, warm and welcoming. We couldn't have asked for a more perfect stay!
We stayed here for a girls shopping weekend and had a great time. The house was clean and had everything we needed. Bathrooms in each bedroom was an added bonus. Communication with owner was good and check in/ check out was easy. Would stay here again!
The unit was better than it appeared in the pictures! It was very clean, well stocked and exceeded our expectations! Also, the owner was very responsive to any questions we had before we arrived. We had a great weekend!
Amazing property! Everything was exactly as described and as shown in the photos. The house has tons of character and lots of space. Katie was great to work with and made sure everything was perfect. This was our first trip to Michigan City, and the Parsonage is in a great location, with lots of interesting shops to walk to just two blocks over. We had two couples and three teenagers and had plenty of room in the house. It was great having an attached bathroom on each bedroom. Lots of seating on the lower level. Overall a really great property if you are looking to visit Michigan City.
My family stayed at the Parsonage for our annual "Christmas in June" vacation. The home was clean and beautiful. We loved having bathrooms in every bedroom. Everything you would possibly need for cooking meals was available in the kitchen. The owners had even left plenty of toilet paper, paper towels, trash bags, dishwasher soap, Kleenex, baggies, aluminum foil, hand soap, etc. We were used to bringing all of these things and it was nice to not have to do so this time. The home is just a block from the outlet mall, a coffee shop, and an ice cream shop. It was just a little further to walk to the brewery. A quick drive had us to the beach and the casino. Katie was quick to answer any questions I had. She also left some delicious homemade cookies for us when we arrived. This was the perfect place for my family. We would definitely return if we come back to Michigan City for another vacation!
The check in was nice and easy. We checked in early and went to Washington Beach for the day. We took a ride to the Heston Steam Engine Museum and rode the steam engine. Ate lunch at Redamark in New Buffalo, Michigan. Great food. A little crowded on a Saturday. Then went to Sheridan Beach for the day. Another great beach day. Some did a little shopping at the Outlet Mall and spent another day at Washington Beach. Both beaches are nice but they do get crowded. The home is fully equipped with whatever you need. Great stay.
Thoroughly enjoyed our stay- amazing historic home in a great location. We were there for a family reunion and The Paraonage was close to everything we did. House was so clean, comfortable, well stocked, and had a toy closet that our 4 year old granddaughter enjoyed. Lakeshore coffee house and Chickpea Mediterranean restaurant were just down the alley. Both excellent and we highly recommend. Katie was great and easy to work with. Would definitely stay there again.
We had such a wonderful stay in this charming historic home right in the heart of Michigan City! From the moment we arrived, we were struck by how warm, clean, peaceful, and welcoming everything felt. The house is full of character and history, yet thoughtfully updated to feel incredibly cozy and comfortable. Every detail, from the beautifully maintained decor to the spotless rooms, made it feel like a true home away from home for our entire family (5kids ranging from 14yo to 9mo). You can tell the owners have poured love and care into every inch of this property. We couldn’t have asked for a better place to relax and make memories. Highly recommend!
Amazingly convenient location in multiple ways. Short trip to New Buffalo train station and ample free street parking made it easy for our family from Madison, Chicago, and Ann Arbor to meet. Once we arrived, we could walk to beach, many restaurants, and outlet mall easily. Also a quick commute to see the White Sox play.
Absolutely loved our stay at this property!! It was very clean and accommodating!! The host was very easy to communicate with. Would definitely recommend!!
This property is outstanding. You can’t beat the location along with the amount of space you have to use. This is our 2nd year staying there and we’re booking it again next year. It’s super
We love this property and come back year after year. It is close to outlet shopping and many restaurants. House is clean, well stocked and has a bathroom in each bedroom.
Thanks for another great stay!
My bridal party and I stayed at the property over my wedding weekend. The house was absolutely beautiful, and the listing photos do not do it justice! The house is so spacious and was perfect for us to spread out while getting hair and makeup done and still have plenty of room to sit around and hang out. When we arrived the dining room was set up beautifully with flowers and homemade cookies that were just wonderful. The beds were incredibly comfortable. Katie was so responsive during the check in/out process and even gave us a lovely nearby coffee recommendation. I can’t wait for another chance to stay here again!
Our family loved this rental. We all had our own rooms and bathrooms. The kitchen is great for cooking and also the gas grill. The furnishings of the home were great and we all enjoyed the home. We visited the Barker Museum, the Outlet Mall, Sheridan Beach and we rode go carts. The weather was perfect. The host responds right away to your questions. Perfect weekend getaway.
You would be hard pressed to find a better host than Katie. She made every effort to make sure our stay was comfortable! A lovely home! Roomy, and a very nicely equipped kitchen for making your own meals. Close to everything! Something for everyone in your group

I grew up in Michigan City and always admired The Parsonage from my school bus. My husband Joe and I have had a beach home in the area for 17 years now and we enjoy all the seasons in Michigan City with our entire family. Great beaches, shopping, casino, restaurants and all of Harbor Country close by. We met the Hoovers this past summer and were wowed by this property and saw this as an opportunity to own this very special property while involving ourselves in the exciting changes happening in Michigan City.
