About the host

Hello and thank you for taking a look at our listing!
We’ve been lucky enough to call St Ives home for over 20 years and still absolutely love living here. It’s a wonderfully vibrant seaside town with something going on all year round — and because we live right in the centre, everything is truly on your doorstep: beaches, galleries, cafés, shops, pubs and coastal walks.
We’re very much part of the local community. I enjoy yoga at the library with my lovely friend Annie — visitors are always welcome, just turn up and join in. Kev is a guitarist, so we’re both involved in St Ives’ brilliant music scene. There’s live music most nights in town, including at our local pub, The Kettle & Wink, just across the road. On Thursday nights my friend Toni runs a relaxed open mic session, and on Fridays Joe (an amazing pianist) hosts another open mic on a proper stage — great fun whether you’re watching or joining in.
We’re also chocolatiers by trade and started our own business when we arrived here — I Should Coco on Tregenna Place, just around the corner. Here the chocolate is stillall handmade on site, and you can even make your own souvenirs on a chocolate workshop.
But for now, our children are grown up now, so when we’re not in St Ives we love travelling — but we always look forward to coming back home.
We hope you love St Ives as much as we do and have a wonderful stay.
Why they chose this property
St Ives is a truly special seaside town, and one of the things we love most is that so many stunning beaches are all within easy walking distance. From our door it’s just a pleasant stroll to Porthminster, Bamaluz, the Harbour Beach, Porthgwidden and the beautiful Porthmeor — the nearest is only 310 yards away. A little further along the coast, but still walkable or just a short bus ride, are the sweeping sands of Carbis Bay and Porthkidney. In the other direction, the dramatic and unspoilt Clodgy Point and Hor Point beaches sit along the coastal path towards Zennor.
Each beach has its own character. Porthminster is gently shelving, sheltered and ideal for families and children. Porthmeor is the town’s famous surfing beach, known for its rolling Atlantic waves and spectacular sunsets — one of our favourite places to end the day.
The coastal walks here are, in our opinion, some of the best in the country. The walk to Zennor is breathtaking, with rugged cliffs, turquoise coves and frequent sightings of seals and even dolphins.
St Ives is also a haven for artists and creatives. The town is filled with independent shops, galleries and studios, as well as a fascinating museum. A visit to the Barbara Hepworth Museum and Sculpture Garden is an absolute must.
Theres also a thriving music scene here in St Ives, with lots of live music in the evenings, you can stroll through time and just check out what’s on. There are also quieter and traditional pubs of course.
We’re also lucky to have the beautifully renovated St Ives Theatre almost next door, offering an impressive programme of shows, comedy, music and film throughout the year.
It’s a town full of beauty, culture and energy — and we never tire of living here :)
What makes this property unique
What makes our property unique
One of the things our friends envy most is our unbeatable central location. Many homes in St Ives are tucked away up the surrounding steep hills, but our house sits right in the heart of town — close to everything, yet without the uphill climb. Beaches, shops, galleries, restaurants, pubs and the harbour are all just a few minutes’ walk away.
Because this is also our family home, it’s warm, welcoming and thoughtfully equipped with everything you’d expect for a comfortable stay. It’s not a sparse holiday let — it’s a real home, with all the little touches that make it easy to settle in and relax from the moment you arrive.
You get the best of both worlds: a prime, flat location and a cosy, well-loved home to return to after a day at the beach or exploring the coast.
