The boat was so characterful, and being on the Thames next to Kew Bridge was very convenient. Patrick was most helpful, providing explanations of the workings of the boat.
Worked very well for my sister and her family and dogs. The boat stayed beautifully warm thank goodness, as it was a cold few days over Christmas. All the instructions on using bath, shower, heating etc were very clear. The location was great - very easy to get around. The owner was very friendly and helpful. Would love to stay again.
Loved our time on the Seahorse! Was hard to leave the boat and do things in London. The first morning when ducks, geese, rowing teams and outrigger paddlers cruised by the three big picture windows in the living room/kitchen I knew we had the right place. Patrick was responsive to questions and very quick to address little things that came up.
The experience of staying on this vessel was exceptional from start to finish, largely due to a highly communicative and responsive host who ensured every aspect of the visit was seamless. The location is truly spectacular, situated in a picturesque and tranquil surrounding area that offers a distinct departure from standard land-based accommodations. Peace of mind is a notable benefit, as the boat features excellent security measures, including access through a private, separated marina entrance that keeps the premises feeling exclusive and secure.Staying on a watercraft naturally requires specific operational protocols, but the host has anticipated this perfectly. While there are a few necessary instructions to follow to keep the boat's systems running smoothly and safely, they are meticulously documented, straightforward, and easy to execute.Aesthetically and experientially, the interior space is the definition of cozy. It certainly leans into a rustic charm, but this only enhances its incredibly unique character, creating an intimate and memorable atmosphere. One of the absolute highlights of the stay is the morning ambiance; waking up to the gentle movement of the water and watching local rowers glide past the window provides a serene, picturesque start to the day. Ultimately, this was a thoroughly enjoyable getaway that offers an unforgettable, unconventional retreat. Highly recommended. Can't wait to return.
This is a wonderful place to stay. I spent some days here in order to work at the national archives, and I'm glad I did. In the evening you can sit out on the deck and relax as dusk comes over the river and the opposite shoreline: it's much more pleasant than a normal house for the price. The only thing I'd be cautious about without be bringing young children, because of the risk of falling (they probably wouldn't, but I would worry about it - others might not be so anxious and the children might well find it an adventure). For a solo adult or a couple it's perfect.
