Perfect escape!

The property is even more beautiful in person! One of the nicest rentals we have stayed in! Loved having the kayaks and paddleboards. Walked to town along the beach every morning. The location is just far enough from the city center to be quiet and peaceful. Beds are very comfortable and having multiple choices of pillows was amazing. Kitchen is well stocked with dishes and cookware. There is construction next door but they weren't working on it during our 2 week stay. Would definitely recommend a car to get around town. Highly recommend!

The property was fantastic. I appreciate owners that invest in a good bed, I didn’t miss my bed once and that NEVER happens on vacation. The walk to town was easy, the fishing was fantastic, this place was a wonderful oasis to return to every day.

This place is sublime!

Casa de Bell is absolutely gorgeous! The property itself and the landscaping is wonderful. it’s a great spot on the beach, short walk on the beach to town or a quick and cheap taxi taxi home. Gretchen and Rick make you feel like you’re one of the family, you have a giant courtyard with a pool that’s gorgeous. Gretchen also has a friend who will go and get groceries and what have you and stock the place before you get there. Gretchen is also extremely helpful at telling you about places to eat and go out and have drinks and during these Covid times, information on how to get tested before you leave. We can’t say enough about Casa de Bell I would recommend this to anyone!

Ultimate kick back relax and unwind.

The property is first rate. The kitchen is well equipped. The owner, Gretchen is a great communicator and a very helpful resource. She has thought of just about everything you will want and need to enjoy your stay. A car is necessary to explore Loreto. If you enjoy hanging out, spending time with loved ones, walking or jogging a beach, eating very good authentic Mexican food/ seafood/ pizza this is the place for you. BTW there are a number of relatively deserted beaches South of town with good seashells. Just wear shoes in the water and watch for a rare scorpion fish!

Amazing Casa on the beach!

Our stay at Casa de Bell was a delight. The second story home has a beautiful view of Isla del Carmen and Isla Coronado. We had pangas (small local fishing boats) pick us up on the beach in front of the house to go snorkeling, fishing, and whale watching. Stroll 10 mins. down the beach to the small marina and make a date with a local panga captain anytime. We were impressed by the vast number of restaurants in tiny Loreto and its surrounds, and all were fantastic. We dined out daily but one scratched the culinary surface. So far, Mi Loreto has our favorite flan, the Blue Anchor cooked up the yellowtail we caught to perfection and has the best Mojitos ever, Vista Al Mar (the clam shack) just south of the airport is a must for chocolate clams on the beach, and Gastroteca Azul in the Nopolo community is a must. We'll be back as soon as possible!!

Truely is paradise!

Casa Bell absolutely lived up to its reputation. The property is perfect! Waking up to the beautiful sunrises each morning and sitting out on the patio as the sun sets was spectacular. It was a joy to be able to meet Casa Bell's host, Gretchen. She is welcoming and very helpful in answering any questions and helping with any arrangements/recommendations you might need. Gretchen has thought of just about everything you will want and need to enjoy your stay. A well equipped kitchen and house. The surrounding property is private, and includes a pool and a beautiful outdoor living area for more holiday enjoyment. Gretchen hooked us up with an amazing boat captain, Noa for a day visit out to the island. Noa was excellent! Since we were getting around without a car, Kristin found us an excellent and trusted driver, Rego, who was there for us the whole week. He gave us little tours along the way as well. We highly recommend a trip out to the end of the road to Picazon and spending some time with owner operator, Diego. Great food and a fun experience. We had a wonderful first trip to Loreto thanks to Casa Bell and we will return without a doubt! A great way to get away from the world! Gracias, Casa Bell and Gretchen!

WOW WOW WOW!!

WOW, If you ever wanted to know what it feels like to have your own little house on the beach, you can't get much closer than this! This place was immaculately done from top to bottom. Very clean, very safe, very private and so beautifully done! The hosts are living moments away to assist with any questions and yet, they are so unobtrusive, you forget they are the owners. Rick and Gretchen were incredibly gracious, informative and friendly hosts, and we can not thank them enough for the incredibly relaxing time my husband and I had there. They had given us the name of their friend Kathy, who kindly stocked our kitchen with a few requests, before we arrived there, we highly recommend you take advantage of this option. She also, helped set us up with our own private boat tour the next day. Hervey (another treasure) was a superb, very fluent, tour guide.,He picked us up, right out on the beach,and took us around the Isla Coronado, where we experienced dolphins, sea lions, blue footed boobys, magnificent rock cliffs and ended with lunch on a popular sandy beach. And, If you are a golf lover, Dazante Bay Golf course is absolutely gorgeous, stick around for the 17th hole, the view is to die for! Honestly, this was one of our most cherished trips to Mexico, the town was quiet, friendly, and safe. The atmosphere and location were so relaxing and the best part... The two strays, that adopted our hosts when they moved in. Lady and Little, if you love dogs, you'll love these two characters, (If you're not a dog lover, you won't even notice they are there). I'm not kidding, while we were out, and we were explaining, to some locals, where we were staying, the people actually said "ohHH" you are at Little's house" These dogs were so precious and such characters, it was the perfect topping to an already perfect stay. Lovely Loreto getaway

A friend and I just spent 10 glorious days at Casa Bell, a spotless and spacious casita with a well-appointed kitchen, comfortable seating inside and out, reliable WIFI, great shower, ample hot water, and good water pressure. . The courtyard had several seating arrangements, a lovely gas fireplace, and a solar-heated pool which we did not use, but guests staying the week prior to our visit used it with gusto in January . Gretchen is on-site and unobtrusive, helpful, and well-connected in Loreto. She arranged for Noe to take us on a half day panga trip to Coronado Island . We saw a huge number of dolphins all around our boat, playing and jumping. Noe was a great guide, providing information and ensuring safety. Gretchen also arranged for a great haircut and facial at Ana's salon, in a neighborhood nearby. I left feeling relaxed and beautiful! We also enjoyed Gitano's, their wine bar downtown, with live music on the patio. We enjoyed cooking at the casita in the wonderful kitchen, but we also sampled many lovingly- prepared meals in Loreto. . Favorites included Picazon, Orlando's, Mi Loreto, Los Mandiles (wonderful jugo verde) , and El Rey del Taco, Everywhere, you could feel the pride that Loretans justifiably have in their town. We enjoyed walks on the beach, accessed from our courtyard, accompanied by Little and Lady. There were beautiful views of the Sierra Gigantes and the Sea of Cortez from our casata. We enjoyed several spectacular sunrises and a full moon. Loreto is a safe and relaxed town with much to enjoy and explore. Driving is safe, roads are in good condition, and it was a beautiful drive up in the Sierras to admire the Mission San Francisco Javier , with goats and cows grazing on the mountainside, cactus and flowers in the desert, turkey vultures and sea gulls resting on Cardon cactus tops. If you are looking for a beautiful place to get away from the "rat race", I highly recommend Loreto and Casa Bell!

Fabulous views and peaceful !!

While staying at Gretchen and Rick's casita at Casa Bell, you'll have everything you need for a relaxing visit in Loreto. The pictures included in this listing are true. There are 2 very comfy beds and fluffy towels in their spotless casita. A well stocked kitchen with every amenity you could need to cook a meal. Loads of storage in beautiful wood cabinets in the bedrooms. Plenty of bottled water is provided for drinking and cooking, which was fabulous as I need my coffee first thing!! They have a *gorgeous* landscaped courtyard and pool with loungers that was well lit at night that made us feel secure. We were there in February and the pool wasn't warm enough for us to use, dang it!For the most part it was quiet but this is a growing neighborhood so there was construction in the area. Gretchen has listed their property as walking distance to town. For some people that may be but we're in our 70's and we're glad we rented a car. Also, you should be aware there are 24 stairs up to the casita from the courtyard. Your luggage may get heavy ;D.

January in Loreto

It’s kind of difficult to summarize how special this property is. The lodging itself is perfect, everything including beds is super comfortable and the views plus access to the miles of beach were really special. We had some very windy days but managed to use the paddle boards twice (loved it!) and were very able to take a panga boat across the Isle Coronado and saw lot and lots of dolphins. Lunch was stops at one of the many taco spots followed by cooking dinner in the well stocked kitchen. If you get inspired by the local cuisine - the grocery store, seafood stores and the tortilleria will have what you are looking for. We hope to return to this spot again.

Loreto Perfection!

Have spent quite a bit of time exploring Baja but first trip to Loreto & did not disappoint. Town is quaint & exactly what we were looking for- a getaway from the hustle & bustle of life & big commercialization. Casa Bell is the perfect place to stay in Loreto. Peaceful location about 20minutes walk down the beach into town - just close enough! The casita is beautiful & has EVERYTHING needed. Beach, pool, paddleboards, kayaks. Beautiful sunrises & spectacular sunsets. The ocean was like a lake with island views & mountain ranges in the background. The weather & water temperature was perfectly warm! Great fishing w Fly Fish Loreto & diving w Blue Nation. Would definitely recommend both businesses. Thanks to Gretchen for being so responsive & accommodating. We will definitely be back to Loreto & Casa Bell again!

Loreto dream!

Casa Bell's casita exceeded our expectations from the moment we arrived. The location is the best in Loreto on a private clean beachfront but walkable to town (less than a mile). The casita was super clean and well appointed with everything we needed for our stay (coffee maker, filters, blender, blow dryer, bluetooth speaker, beach towels, coolers, beach chairs, etc.).The beds were comfortable and so many pillows!! The water bubbler was essential and we appreciated having it as we're big water drinkers. Reliable WiFi. Gretchen was super responsive to our questions and provided us with very clear instructions and directions to the property. The courtyard is a sanctuary with a beautiful pool and large fireplace for evenings with mango margaritas! A couple of recommendations for guests - TAKE CASH. Most businesses in town don't take credit cards. Take tennis shoes - the beach walks are amazing but there are stones and black sand and we were thankful to have shoes. We loved our stay and plan to return to the property in the future. Thanks Gretchen for hosting us. We loved Loreto and your property!!

Wonderful time at Casa Bell

We had a lovely time at Casa Bell. The casita has everything you need and very comfortable beds! The casita has a very generous patio for you to enjoy the views and the courtyard is quiet and private for pool time. We did not attempt a walk to town, but it seems like it would be pretty easy. The weather was very windy during our stay, but the courtyard provides some shelter from the wind so you can still enjoy the sunshine. We had one calm day and got to enjoy the use of paddleboards and swim in the very shallow sea off Casa Bell beach. Gretchen is a wonderful host and did her best to make our stay perfect. We plan to return to Loreto and will definitely try to rent Casa Bell Casita again.

Wonderful Casita

We loved Casa Bell. Our stay was wonderful. The views of the Sea of Cortez and the mountains were spectacular. Sunrise and moonrise over the sea were beautiful. Awesome set up on the beach

Assess to town was walkable, and staying in was nice too. With a sheltered courtyard and pool. Beds were comfortable and of high quality. All the extra touches that made this feel like a home away from home are here. We will most definitely be back. It was a great place for a chill vacation!

Why they chose this property

We purchased the property lot back in early 2015, started building in June of 2016 and officially moved in September 2017. We have built our dream home here in Loreto! Ocean front, great neighborhood, easy quick access to town, shops, restaurants, the hospital and the airport with direct flights from Los Angeles, Phoenix Sky Harbor or San Francisco! Coming from the hustle and bustle of the Bay Area Loreto is our paradise found!
