About this property
1 Bed in Cowling (oc-ds237)
Boasting panoramic views across Yorkshire Dales fields, this loft-style property for two is a northern gem. The apartment, which is dog-friendly, offers a romantic bolthole for any couple to retire to after days spent exploring the Yorkshire Dales National Park and its charming towns and villages. Base yourself in Skipton (6 miles), the nearby market town that’s hailed as ‘the gateway to the Yorkshire Dales’. Complete with boutiques, pubs and eateries, you can fully assimilate into Yorkshire life by starting your adventures here.
This former weaver’s barn has been lovingly renovated to create a stylish, stone cottage with home-from-home interiors. Enter on the ground floor and take stairs up to the first floor to find everything you need laid out on one level. The open-plan living space offers a well-equipped kitchen, a relaxing lounge with a TV/DVD, and diner with large windows presenting the almighty views. When day turns to night, head through to the airy and scenic double bedroom with its convenient en-suite shower room. Outside, soak up the sun in the shared, south-facing garden, and enjoy al fresco meals using the BBQ and outdoor furniture, all while enjoying the magnificent views.
On the outskirts of Skipton, the village of Embsay (8.5 miles) is a charming little spot with a country pub and a heritage train station. From here you can board the Embsay to Bolton Abbey Steam Train before exploring Bolton Abbey itself (15 miles), a delightful destination perched on the edge of the national park. Also close by, visit Ilkley (12.5 miles) with its independent shopping culture and the world-famous Betty’s Tearoom. Further afield, the cities of Leeds (28 miles) and Bradford (17 miles) are also close by, adding to the area’s vast appeal.
