Close in and quiet -- single family home with two master bedrooms, two private patios, backyard and garage, plus all the toys and amenities! Walking distance to the beach, in a quiet (mostly owner-occupied) residential neighborhood, away from the tourist and party crowds.

TWO Master Bedrooms: One MBR/Ba with new King bed, wall of mirrored closets, ensuite tub/shower bath. Second MBR/Ba with built-in dresser/drawers, new gel-foam firm queen bed, ensuite shower stall bath, smartTV. Built-in desk/chair for WFH.

Fully-stocked kitchen. Three SmarTVs w/Chromecast for your streaming needs, YouTube TV for local channels. A/C, full-size W/D, AT&T high speed WiFi. Living room with sofabed and gas fireplace. Front patio with fire pit, bbq in back yard. Full-size W/D in single car garage.

Plenty of free parking out front in addition to one car garage.
Very peaceful neighborhood, yet close to everything SoCal!

Walking distance to best restaurants, shops, bars -- and only four blocks to beach! Less than 1/2 mile to the ocean, 12 blocks to the bay. Most places are within easy walking distance -- park your car (or Uber/Lyft) and walk/bike everywhere! Feel free to ask for recommendations.

Peaceful beach retreat

This was a very nice place to stay. Rowena was very sweet and accommodating. We loved the close proximity to the beach-within walking distance. She had surf boards, wake boards, bikes, etc for us to use and my kids really liked that! I would highly recommend staying here! She also has other properties for rent, too.

Lovely beach house

Stayed here with our three kids 9 and under for a week. We walked to the beach several times, and the house was in close range to everything else during our stay. The neighborhood was very quiet, and everyone we met on walks was friendly. House had everything we needed, and we made good use of the boogie boards. Would definitely return!

Our family stayed at Rowena’s property this past weekend, and all I can say is, wow! Perfect location close to the beach and everything you’d want to do in PB. The check-in process was easy, the house was sparkling clean and welcoming, the outdoor space was lovely, all in all we could not have asked for more. We loved our stay! Perfect location for all of us to walk to the beach and restaurants, we didn't have to drive and park very much. The house was very relaxing with plenty of space to relax inside and out. We cooked there and there was plenty of amenities to do all that too. The cottage was clean and well stocked with everything you have at home! And we could call our owner for anything else we needed. I would recommend this home to everyone!

Great place near beach

We had a great stay at this property. A slight hiccup checking in, but Rowena was quick to respond and always available during our stay whenever we had questions. The property was clean and well-appointed and near the northern end of Pacific Beach which was clean and relatively quiet during our stay. Though it was windy and the water too cold for us to take advantage, there were boogie boards and plenty of beach gear for use, as well as bikes for cruising. We highly recommend this place.

Rowena is a great to work with. Very responsive. House is very clean and has everything you need. San Diego get away

My two teenagers were so surprised to walk into the rental and find a beautiful fruit basket waiting for us. After a long drive, it was very welcome. Rowena is a gracious host. We ha trouble getting the fire pit to work and she came over within minutes of us calling her. Everything was nice a clean and the kitchen was well stocked. The location was also great (Close to the beach) and other San Diego attractions. Also in very nice nieghborhood. I highly recommend this property.

Wonderful place, wonderful owner!

My husband and I and our two year old son stayed here for five weeks while transferring from Hawaii to San Diego. We couldn't have asked for a more wonderful place to land. The house is clean, comfortable and well appointed; we had everything we needed to feel at home. The location is fabulous, quiet but close to the beach with lovely outdoor areas to relax in and a grassy area where our son enjoyed playing. Perfect spot for our family of four.

Rowena was an amazing host - very accommodating and reachable. The house was just the right size for our family. It was secure, safe and kid friendly. The beach accessories and supplies were helpful as we forgot a few things at home. Having two small children we felt comfortable in the house knowing our kids wouldn’t destroy the floor with their messes and of course sand. The location is great too - walking distance to the beach and restaurants. Just watch out - there are some bad drivers!!! At any rate, we loved our stay and are grateful we called this house our home for 8 days.

Wonderful Home and Geart Location

My husband and I were in California for 6 days and our stay in this house was wonderful. The owners had manuals and a map explaining where everything was for the home and where hospitals, restaurants, and points of interest were. We had no problem cooking for a party at our son’s apartment because the kitchen was well stocked with everything that we needed. It makes a difference when the owners of a house treat it like their own home and not just a business. We would definitely book this house again for any stay in San Diego. Fantastic family fun

We stayed at this adorable house over Christmas week. Rowena could not have been more gracious, a pleasure. We have never rented a house before, we usually stay at hotels and resorts. But my two sons (14 and 12) loved it! They played Wii, took out the bikes, and tried to relax and watch TV when we weren't hitting every tourist attraction in the area. The house is small, but well appointed and the beds are delightful. The location was perfect for us, a quiet street, a 5 minute walk to the beach and to Garnet and no more than 15 or 20 minutes from everywhere we wanted to me (except for Disneyland). Enjoy it...we did.

San Diego Oasis

If you’re looking for the perfect place to stay in the PB area with your family, this is it! It’s walking distance to the beach and a ton of coffee shops and restaurants. The house was stocked with everything you could possibly need and we were surprised how quiet it was at night. With a teen and a toddler it can be hard to accommodate both their needs but this house managed to do just that. Since we have a toddler we spent many evenings having dinner on the patio and spending quality time together in the cozy living room. We were able to walk down and see the sunset and even got a few evening bike rides in. Would also recommend checking out La Jolla and you’re only a few hours from LA. Rowena was THE nicest host and checked in during our stay to make sure check in went smoothly and if there was anything we needed. 10/10 recommend!

We Loved It!!

We stayed in this house last July and re-booked again for July 2014! This was a great house in a wonderful location. It is close to the beach and many, many shops and restaurants. Our family had a fantastic time taking walks, hanging out on the beach, shopping, eating, playing board games and just taking in the beauty of Pacific Beach. The house was fully equipped with everything we could want. I have rented other homes in the past that have minimal supplies available, but this place was fully stocked, which we really appreciated. The owners were wonderful to work with. The home exudes the warmth of the owners and you can picture many happy family reunions taking place here over the years. Our children never wanted to leave! We can wait to come back in July.

Great place to stay in PB

Rowena's place was wonderful and I would stay there again. Rowena was very responsive to questions and small problems that came up. A microwave malfunctioned and she brought a replacement in almost immediately. She also made sure 4 bikes were in working order when I inquired. We really enjoyed being able to bike around the area. My son was also able to find a wetsuit and surfboard to fit him! We found everything we needed. We loved using the yard and especially the fire pit. The website does need to be updated with some new information, but that is not a big deal. There was no longer a usable outside shower and no jetpack deal any more (which my son had been excited about doing). The pandemic has changed some things. The pictures probably need to be updated as there are changes to furnishings, but that is a minor issue. The place was clean and lovely and we really had a great time. Thank you for your hospitality!

I grew up surfing and playing all along PB, La Jolla and Del Mar, and always dreamed of owning my own beach house...now it's my neighborhood!

Why they chose this property

The location is amazing, in a quiet neighborhood with fabulous neighbors, and close to everything -- just park the car, then walk everywhere! Being close to the water without dealing with the crowds and surrounded by locals makes this a win-win location.

I get up early in the mornings and walk to The French Gourmet for fresh chocolate croissants to savor with coffee on the patio when everyone wakes up. Latitudes is a fun "locals" hang out just around the corner for philly cheesesteaks, watching sports with friends and a few games on a pool table. For dinner, walk a couple blocks to Enoteca Adriano for some of the best Italian food in San Diego! We also walk to The Fishery for fresh fish filets to grill for dinner back home. The best evening? A quick stroll to the beach to catch a sunset and maybe a glimpse of the green flash - haven't seen one yet, but I keep trying!

What makes this property unique

Did I mention there's a private yard and two patios for enjoying our fantastic SoCal weather? It looks small from the outside, but is surprisingly comfortable and 'big enough' inside, with privacy and quiet that can be rare in a beach community.

This isn't a typical rental -- it's furnished like a home, with custom furnishings and original artwork, so you can relax and get comfortable immediately.

There's also a one-car garage for your car because you won't need it once you're settled ... everything you need is walking or biking distance away.

I also provide beach cruisers bikes, surf boards, boogie boards, even a few wetsuits in a couple of sizes. And since I live nearby and like to stay here as often as I can, I keep it well stocked. I can also loan items from my other house as needed to fill your requests.
